I definitely remember that happening but I think it was in the first episode or some preview thing where they had a barrage of sound clips that would come up to tantalise you. I'm guessing it'll come up in a future episode.

Idle Thumbs 183: The Anonymouses

Isn't Titanfall an example that didn't do that well, similar to how the Thumbs currently feel about Evolve? -

Here's the game. And here's her itchio if you want to follow her, I believe she plans to make more games in this style so you could follow her on your itch.io account. -

2000!? I've seen some of the first movies ever made by Melies and the Lumiere brothers, there's still entertainment to be had there. I know that opinions aren't wrong... but that opinion is flat out wrong. -

I think part of the old movie bias is also in people's assumption that we've gotten better at films, and so the old ones just aren't worthwhile. When realistically it's mostly filmic techniques that have improved, so movies have more tools to communicate to viewers but what they're communicating has not gone through a massive quality change. -
Awesome. Gotta get back on that season 2...

From this year? I got Transistor and quite enjoyed it, The Banner Saga disappoitinted me too for similar reasons to the Thumbs it seemed (disengaging storytelling). I'm eagerly waiting on an Android port for 80 Days, which is forthcoming TBA. If you include more than just this year... 100+ hours in Spelunky was very much fueled by Chris's exploits and my love for excellent movement mastery in games.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 5: The One-Armed Man
SuperBiasedMan replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
I also thought about this in the scene with Mike, where he's not fitting with the profile they're expecting and Truman doesn't walk out of there saying "Maybe that dream was kinda bogus Cooper..." like he would in most shows. Instead they go to a vet named Bob to follow up on that lead. -
I used to watch some of TB's videos and listen to his podcast until I decided that I wasn't comfortable supporting someone with politics I had a problem with (because he could be dismissive of sexism as not a problem in a #notallmen way). But I think the main reason he's involved with GG is because he's always has a big consumer advocacy ideal. He complains about Steam being shitty to their consumers with relatively no chance for refunds and lack of accountability. I'm guessing that he wants the purported goals of GG to come to fruition, the ethics blah blah blah. I think that could be an interesting conversation but not at the expense of keeping GG alive. I guess he either is unable or unwilling to take a step back from GG and fully understand them rather than just his blanket presumption of them being the 'right side', which is pretty common for how he operated when I consumed his stuff.

Idle Thumbs 183: The Anonymouses

I think that just happened to occur in one of Sean(?)'s games, he didn't seem to think it always happened. It'd make sense if someone playing the monster just didn't quite get that they could immediately start running away before the players move. -
Twin Peaks Rewatch 4: Rest in Pain
SuperBiasedMan replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
Did anyone else find it a bit odd and unnerving when the priest (can't remember if I'm using the exact right word here...) talking at Laura's funeral first said vague good things about Laura but then spent a while talking about how she was impatient and wanted life to catch up to her. It seemed really weirdly dark to be brought up so casually because it was clearly the struggle that lead to her spiralling out of control. I'm a bit unsure what to think though, whether it was a good way to highlight how everyone understood what was happening with Laura but didn't acknowledge it or was it too much to have the priest drawing attention to it with a crowd of silent people standing around passively. -
Wilfull ignorance is particularly an issue in the games audience where people just wanna ignore the social issues of their media. I am also subbing to Covert Contact. I love podcasts that are about topics I know nothing of, it's a convenient way to digest information about new areas.

I did not understand any of those poop slang words.

I move for an "I had a random poop..." thread.

Thanks so much for all the help! Hadn't responded yet because I've been too busy to try implementing it but the explanation makes sense so I should be able to manage it. Maybe some day I can know a thing and help people... a coder can dream...

Really good/older games found in 2nd hand shops
SuperBiasedMan replied to watters50's topic in Video Gaming
I just found and bought a PS1 era X-Files game complete with actual stills or video of Mulder and Scully solving cases, along with you! Their fellow agent Joe Schlub. Point and click your way through the FMV mysteries to find that truth, that's in there. I have a friend who loves the X-Files so we're planning to crack this open with no prior knowledge of it and revel in the misery of a (presumably) bad licence game. -
Foreword: I don't know if anyone will ever find this, but I hope they do. It's important people know the truth and not just the lies they've been fed. Alas, for now all I can do is write, and hope. Day 1 - 2:34pm 04/11/2014 2min 16sec - 3 squares tp Went fine, no complications Vague nutmeg smell

Probably the former with a little of the latter. Don't you ever wish you could rewind time? I wonder now if I do have a schedule but I just pay no attention to it.

I watched that a while back, I think it's great. I get repeatedly disappointed by zombie media not addressing the idea that the zombies are living creatures too (even if they're sort of the living dead?) and the show spins it into a nice social dynamic where the infected receiving treatment are pariahs among societies where they previously felt at home... or relatively at home. Depending on who they were before. I've only seen the first season (the three episode one) but I was hoping they'd spend more time addressing the actual killing of the zombies as morally questionable but a lot of the attitude in what I saw was that the infected being treated should be considered people, but not the wild ones. There were hints of that being explored though, so I hope it comes up more in season 2.

Is fiber necessary for the ritual? I poop fine, it just happens when it wants without any fuss.
-
I've never understood the ritualistic nature of some people's pooping.
-
Can't think of anything that's missing, but I would say if people were comfortable with sending addresses to one specific organiser it might be more fun, not knowing who is actually buying for them. (instead of sending the address directly to the person you know is buying for you)

The idea sounds cool, would it basically wind up with us getting each other games? I'd still be up for that, but if there was a way to make for some interesting presents I think it could be fun.
