That video legitimately got one of my friends into WoW and then he made me get into it too while he was addicted. I don't think he understood my general lack of being WoWed. Well at least you got chicken.

Turn that into a positive by saying that you like the industry/company that much that you just want a chance to start off working there and see what it's like.

Twin Peaks Rewatch 29: Miss Twin Peaks
SuperBiasedMan replied to Jake's topic in Twin Peaks Rewatch Episodes
Rewatching all this is really making me very disappointed in my younger self for not particularly disliking the mid-late season 2 episodes. (it's not that I liked them a lot, I just watched right through without any real fatigue at all) -
I was disappointed that this thread is entirely unaffiliated with this.

Right in the depths, surrounded by food that repulses you and yet more continues to rain down from above. You must try your best to climb and climb, hoping you can somehow reach the top. But what awaits you at the top? Maybe Beppo himself... Beppo's hole is a slippy 2D platform where you're trying to climb all the way to the top. There is food all around you as enemies and obstacles. You need to avoid them, but if you're backed into a corner you can eat them and take a hit to your mobility as you get heavier and slower. That's the idea thus far anyway, gonna try play around and see how it works in practice. I'm making it in Unity. Probably making the graphics myself but if someone did want to get involved I'm open to it because I'm not sure how much time I have to do the whole thing over the next two weeks. Sound is gonna be super important with pretty gross mastication style sound effects. For general music I think some fun could be had with this but I don't yet know how to make it work well. I've just been tuning the feel of your slippy out of control movement in an empty level and starting to add platforms and stuff before I add in actual foodstuffs.

I look forward to discussing the entire Transformers trilogy with a feminist eye. -

Turns out Grim Fandango is on Android. Has anyone tried it? It's probably am affront to think I should play it on my phone first but it's likely the only way I'll find time for the next while.

What what, variable names stripped out? How readable was it?

Gary Danko's is the least fancy sounding name for a fancy place I've heard. Probably doesn't help that it's half my name. -
Beautiful language, isn't it?

As a mildly related quick poll, how many of you UKers is aware of how to properly pronounce Sinn Féin? I'm unsure how often it comes up on your media so I'm curious if you say it as sin fen instead of Shin Feign (which is essentially correct).

Idle Thumbs 209: Ten Percent Success Rate

Speaking for myself, often Danielle seems to self censor herself and I feel a little bummed when it happens. I don't know if she's just putting it on herself as a self editing measure that transfers over from writing at Polygon or what, but I think it's totally unnecessary! Sorry if this is rude/presumptuous/entirely something I've pulled out of thin air... -

Yeah, I got in deep to the shooting part of Team Fortress 2. I barely even played the hat dress up stuff to be honest.

Didn't they get a lot of flak for charging so much for what was essentially a playable teaser? (though I heard Ground Zeroes was robust and had a decent amount of stuff to do, even if it did seem like a fraction of a 'full' game)

My personal approach to the dilemma is to be intentionally meek about it as much as I can. I do my best to defer to allowing others speak first especially if they're women. But I will speak up in the absence of other feminist discussion. As long as I do feel comfortable enough in my knowledge about the topic. It seems like the problem of men in feminism is about men being too assertive and (nonviolently) aggressive in a field that's entirely not ours to assert and dominate. So I do try to focus on not feeling like my opinion is valid or needed just because I want it to be. I have to stop and think about the actual contribution I'm making so I know whether or not it's actually going to help or if it will just assert my stance and insert me into the conversation.

This is garbage advice based on a scientific study I read a long time ago, but I'm gonna offer it anyway. It was found in a study that women negotiate better when they're arguing for a friend of theirs to get a raise instead of themself. So maybe if you can manage some cognitive gymnastics you could try pretend you're arguing on someone else's behalf?

Sigh. I still won't get to see that movie until July.
