  1. Favorite Level in a video game

I found the nebula levels from Homeworld pretty memorable. https://youtu.be/C4LdlLQ7izo?t=1m34s
  2. Idle Thumbs 217: To Have a Life

    1) Discussion of Batman Ethics reminded me of this: https://writingiseasier.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/batman-alignment-chart.jpg 2) I think it was an Idle Thumbs ep that first pointed me towards the Goldblum Laugh Remix. There was a period when my carpool would listen to it every day on our way home.
  3. XCOM 2

They talk about stealth and scouting in the interview which has me excited. My biggest pet peeve in XCOM is how much having vision works against you. Here's to snipers and scouts actually playing like snipers and scouts!
  4. HOTS... no the other HOTS. The Lords Management one damn it!

Three Moves Ahead had a good discussion recently in case you missed it. Hit level 40 the other day which means I can play Team League now. I think that makes at least two of us now? Would love to get a Thumbs team going.
  5. HOTS... no the other HOTS. The Lords Management one damn it!

The beta appears to be open now. I'm having a blast with it. DOTA and LOL had too much learning curve and toxicity for me to get into. I really appreciate the lack of items, they felt more like I had to memorize a bunch of precalculated builds rather than making interesting strategic choices in the moment. Team xp I think opens up some possibility for interesting Lords- either to ignore or focus on lanes. The Lost Vikings for instance are all about splitting up to soak all three lanes letting the rest of your team focus on map objectives. ifthen#1122 if anyone needs a little more Uther in their life. Having a reasonable group you can make plans with makes a huge difference.
  6. Super Monday Night Combat League

Had some real fun times with MNC back in the day, would definitely be into this if people are still playing. http://steamcommunity.com/id/ifthenstatements I'm usually available during the day EST.
  7. Phantasy Star Online

This might be a longshot but would anyone be into getting a PSO group together? There's an abandonware server running at http://schtserv.com/. It's the only possible way to play the game now so I don't feel too guilty about it. Loved the game back in the day and would like to get into it for old time's sake but it's not nearly as much fun without a good multiplayer experience. I'm random900 on there. Feel free to PM me here if you need help getting it working.
  8. Titanthumbs

I'm usually on a couple nights a week. Origin: ifthenstatements
  9. Webcomics

Erfworld takes what could have been a pretty cheesy premise- strategy game nerd gets sucked into a punny world resembling a strategy game- and gives it good art, characters with personality and motive, and a conflict that amounts to more than good vs evil. I can't recommend it enough.
  10. Jerkiest Main Characters in Video Games

I'll go with the Player in Crusader Kings II. I'm pretty sure that's the only context in which I've *chosen* to murder half my family.
  11. Idle Thumbs Steam group and ID exchange

http://steamcommunity.com/id/ifthenstatements/ Always up for a game of something good.
  12. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hi hi to all, Frank here. Been listening to the podcast for a while and figured I'd check out the forums. I always like a good games conversation (I came in late to Gameological, right before it joined AV Club) and always want more people to play online with (make an Old Republic character with me and I'll be your friend forever.)
