  1. Destiny

So I Redboxed this tonight. Played through the first mission and actually enjoyed it immensely. Is anyone playing this on PS3?
  2. Ello.co

Sorry to go off-topic here, but man, is Ello ever broken. This has been broken all day, Ello. Don't try and tell me that this is a unique occurrence.
  3. Bedlam - A post apocalypse Banner Saga

Also reminds me of Geoff Darrow's linework and Brandon Graham & Co.'s recent revitalization of Prophet, with a touch of Jamie Hewlett thrown in for good measure.
  4. Post your face!

I want to join in on the bike picture fun. Here's me waiting for a green light during the Thursday Night Social Ride:
  5. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Lately, I've found it best to expect an underwhelming experience from high-budget titles. I think Titanfall has been the only $60 experience from 2014 that I bought into, and that had everything to do with the beta. Even Wolfenstein, which I enjoyed well enough, felt appropriately priced at $30 during the Steam summer sale.
  6. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

It also sounds like buying games via Nuuvem is legally ambiguous (and essentially grey market); unlike GMG, I don't believe Nuuvem is in a position to sell games to NA or European consumers. I'm not trying to ward anyone off from finding a better deal at all, but it sounds like Valve could revoke a user's access to a game purchased via Nuuvem due to impropriety.
  7. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

GMG puts out a similar voucher pretty much every week, and you can use it on as many games as you'd like. They're also offering free games with the use of this specific voucher, so there's that to consider. I've never heard of Nuuvem, but GMG is a reputable e-tailer and I don't mind paying a few extra dollars for some piece of mind.
  8. D4 by SWERY

I'm not positing that Mullholland Drive is weirder than Inland Empire, but there was something at least a bit grounded about his '80s & '90s output that felt like it went by the wayside after The Straight Story.
  9. Bedlam - A post apocalypse Banner Saga

Really, really dig the pseudo-Moebius art direction.
  10. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

I think I'm going to pre-order this based on the strength of the reviews rolling out today. If any of y'all would like to follow suit and plan to play it on PC, GMG's extended their 25% off voucher through Monday: SEPTEM-BEROFF-ER25XX That knocks the game down to a very reasonable $37.50.
  11. D4 by SWERY

Interestingly enough, this is how I feel about David Lynch's later filmography. By Mulholland Drive, it was just weirdness for weirdness's sake.
  12. Dragon's Dogma

I watched my roommate's absurdly small character climb on goats while his giant NPC friend ran around for a while, it was entertaining for at least half an hour.
  13. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Oh, I fought one and disliked that more than the other things I didn't particularly care for. It looks cool and Marin did a good job of masking or transforming the re-used assets, but I just am not over the moon on this game.
  14. Shaving My Thumbs

I have an Edwin Jagger safety razor. I shave every other day, and replace the blade weekly. It came with some Derby blades, of which I'm not terribly fond. I think my roommate and I are gonna go halfers on a blade variety pack so we can try a few different brands.
  15. What is the Nadir of the Simpsons?

It's really true, though. I mean, it's a great episode, but it pushes the boundaries too far and crosses a few lines too many. Seasons 4-7 are the best, without question.
  16. General Video Game Deals Thread

Being on Green Man Gaming's email list is worthwhile. I routinely get 25% vouchers. I'm very tempted to pick up ALIEN for less than $40, especially with the included Nostromo DLC.
  17. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Is there more to Bioshock 2 than killing Big Daddies so I can protect Little Sisters from waves of Splicers? Or have I basically seen what the game has to offer at this point?
  18. Destiny

Watched about an hour of this on Twitch, and I get the feeling it just isn't my thing. I might Redbox the PS3 version. I guess Ben Kuchera felt it necessary to stir up the PC port rumors again. I'm honestly kind of surprised there wasn't one day-and-date with the other four versions. I mean, if Ubisoft or EA can do it on an annual basis...
  19. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Tried Spec Ops again since I got it with the 2K bundle recently. I really hate that game.
  20. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

The people who work at Ubisoft are literally insane.
  21. Aliens: Colonial Marines

These legal briefs as of late are absolutely fascinating. It's almost like the only unfiltered view we ever get of game development
  22. Oculus rift

John Carmack is the coolest motherfucker on the planet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO6T4M4VMuk
  23. Metro: Last Light

Did you turn off PhysX? Geforce Experience defaulted to turning PhysX on, which crippled the game on my 760. Turning it off solved everything.
  24. I was surprised by the writing in this game, weirdly enough. The game itself looks pretty good and plays alright (the side missions are more fun than the story-driven ones), but it's no Chaos Theory.
