And it costs them, what--£1 to put one in the box? It's bullshit. It's like selling you a vacuum cleaner without a plug.

The season pass is $25 and can be readily had for less than that via GMG's sales. Even if you purchased all content separately at full price, it would only set you back $30.

What the hell is wrong with Nintendo? No regular-sized N3DS? No AC wall charger included? The more expensive Majora's Mask 3DS doesn't include a copy of the game? I just... What the fuck, dudes?

Mm, sea lion vinaigrette.

Do you have anyone you can speak to IRL? If not, maybe you need to confide in us. I think that a number of people here have probably suffered through similar bouts of extreme depression. And I can tell you that while I might not be at your current level of despair, I'm feeling quite lowly myself at this moment. Talking through the things that are bothering me does help relieve the immediate pain, and an outside perspective or two is usually a net positive in my experience.

Pretend I don't know the first thing about making games

(Weird aside: Tom Francis is my father's name--and my given name, though I go by Max--so every time someone talks about him, it makes me giggle.) -

I actually moved on to the next tutorial and started making the Space Shooter. I don't know C# at all, but I'm starting to get an idea of how it works. I can imagine it would be useful to get a book on C# to read through to get a handle on basic programming (I've never done anything more involved than hand-coding HTML about 20 years ago)--perhaps I should take a class on C# or just programming languages in general. Anyway, I will test your revamped tutorial bits when I get back from the gym. Thanks, clyde. -
Pretend I don't know the first thing about making games

It's the penultimate step of the roll-a-ball tutorial. The video asks you to create > GUIText, except that there is no function under the "create" menu called GUIText. Create > UI > Text adds other objects to the hierarchy not present in the tutorial. Essentially, it looks like Unity modified how text works within the engine and failed to update their tutorials accordingly. -

So... It looks like Unity changed how text works between the time they published the tutorial for roll-a-ball and the release of 4.6. Somebody please help! -

So I'm finally following up on this thread. Only took me about 10 months! Downloaded Unity. I'm going to go through some of their tutorials. Construct 2 looks interesting, I'll probably download that as well. I've had this idea in my head for a Road Rash clone for some time. It seems like if I can iterate on some sort of proof-of-concept for a similar game, I'd be in heaven. -
Yeah, too many blue dudes means that the captain or warchief is dead before I can grab him. Had this issue while riding a graug earlier today.
-
They seem to shrug this off, for whatever reason. I wait until their life bar turns green, but I still can't seem to brand them while being a badass.
-
Super Mario Sunshine is up right now.
-
The hunters were random entry-level enemies--not even captains. I tried to disrupt and murder them all, but as the captain I was attempting to brand ran off, I got mobbed by an endless number of Uruk.
-
This is driving me insane. All the lower-tier captains either die too easily or I get stuck in the middle of 50+ Uruk and can't brand the damn fools. I'm up to 3 branded warchiefs after about an hour or more of play. I got so frustrated on the last attempt to brand this dumb captain who always has a half-dozen hunters surrounding him that I quit the game.
-
Can someone please explain how to launch a betrayal mission? I never finished this game and decided to get back to it. Well, I've got 3 warchiefs left to brand, and they keep dying on me. For some reason it's much easier to murder them than to grab their face for a few seconds.

Yeah, the juvenile banter was unrepentantly awful.
-
This guy is clipping geometry to speed up large swaths of this game. I can't even imagine how one discovers this.

This Arkham City run is just bonkers.

Half-Life 2 is the reason I even have a Steam account.

Their writing is typically atrocious and overblown; it calls to mind the experience of reading IGN circa 1999. -
Bump. Game rules.

There's a lot going on with that interview--so much so that I find it difficult to unpack it all. Jay paints a very believable portrait of Adnan as a killer, assuming he's being (mostly) truthful. But that he blames Sarah Koenig for any perceived vilification is just kind of breaking my brain; he was given multiple opportunities to tell his side of the story (and Koenig even offered to follow up with him after The Intercept published its interview). Is Sarah Koenig liable for the behavior of Reddit?
