Sure, that's 8PM UK so it's fine for me. For hand cannons, the only way to get a two shot kill is either two headshots with Thorn (which leaves you to burn out from the DoT), or Hawkmoon proccing two bonus damage shots in a row.

I've spent more time doing PvP than anything else in Destiny. I'd love to play some matches with people here to practice. Remember I'm on UK time though so I won't be up as late as you.

I wish I had a good group for Trials. My friends only raid and are all terrible at PvP, so I have to LFG it which is a crapshoot. Would anyone here be interested in getting together and going for the Lighthouse?

Damn it, but computers have become really complicated

That's really all I know about the issue. So would there be a benefit to having hyperthreading? Like, if you were recording or streaming game footage while playing it, would it make a difference? -

Is it still true that the only difference between an i5 and an i7 is that the latter supports hyperthreading, which doesn't affect how games run? -
Oh, congrats! Yeah, I'm surprised I managed to stay coherent that long. I completely forgot about the overly eager Gatekeeper and the disappearing crystal, too.

"This group is a purely objective list and nothing more. It passes no judgments and expresses no opinions." What it says now: What it originally said: This group expresses no opinions! Except that it was originally made to "protect you from terrible framerates". I'm sure now that the description has changed that all the members of the group will be just as objective?

Crota went well! We got the whole thing done in 2 hours. That was the first time I've done the bridge legit and survived until the end. We spent maybe about 45 minutes on Crota himself but we ended up getting him with just two swords. No Cruxes dropped

Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan
Vasari replied to tegan's topic in Idle Banter
Contradiction is pretty incredible. It's like a British FMV adaptation of Deadly Premonition. I don't plan on playing it since I'm really enjoying watching the GB videos, but I bought it on Steam anyway because I figure the developers deserve support for their weird amazing thing.- 1367 replies

I'm up for it. I was waiting to see how awake I felt before signing since it's pretty late here.

There's also Lady Desiree, who does a bunch of piano music on youtube. She did a piano cover of the Sepik's Prime theme.

I'm happy Jenn is coming back! She was chased out for ridiculous reasons and I'm glad she feels safe enough to write again.

The Black Hammer changes make sense, and they've increased the reserve ammo to compensate. If you land precision hits you can get up to 21 shots off without reloading, which is more than enough. There is so much crying going on about the Gjallarhorn/Icebreaker nerfs. I've always felt that both those weapons trivialised challenges in Destiny and I'm really, really glad they're being tuned. Gjallarhorn will still do more damage than other rocket launchers and Icebreaker will still regenerate ammo, but now they won't be such crutches that they can bypass encounter mechanics. By the way, if you're a Hunter you should check out Xur this weekend. He's selling Celestial Nighthawk, which is a helmet that gives your golden gun a single shot that does 6x damage and overpenetrates. It's useless in PvP but in PvE you can have alot of fun with it.

Weekly Update Weapon Tuning Blog Post It's hard to judge exactly how the changes will feel ingame, but they've made some pretty bold changes. Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker and Black Hammer all being nerfed are going to have a huge effect on how people do current raids. I'm glad they're doing it though, because cheesing through encounters was never particularly fun and it's good to force people to play better. The PvP changes are going to make weapons like Thorn and The Last Word less important, and hopefully there'll be a better spread of primary weapon types instead of just hand cannons. I'm really happy about all of these changes. Also I run that Lord Shaxx twitter account that got quoted in the weekly update, and when I opened the page I made a noise that's normally only heard from One Direction fans.

Every mission starts in a public area and then goes into an instanced area, so you'll see high level players on their way to do high level stuff. There are also bounties and public events to do in patrol areas, so you'll see people doing those. The class variety comes down to what abilities they have. Each class uses the same weapons, but they have different armour and subclasses. When you level up a Titan enough, you unlock the Defender subclass that lets you put down a bubble shield that can either give bonus health or bonus damage. That's a really useful ability for raids so that's the class to play if you want to keep people alive. Hunters have a stealth subclass that lets them turn invisible, and Warlocks have a self-rez so you could think of them as "rogues" and "healers", but they're archetypes rather than roles. The classes all have different types of jumping and grenades as well, which are the most obvious differences. You have three character slots so you can always try out another class if there's something you want to see.

Thanks! I was nervous as hell and knew nothing about the first question he asked me, which made me feel like I'd soured the tone of the whole interview. I guess I managed to recover and give some decent answers, and I asked a couple of questions about the company at the end which probably made me sound more informed, so I think that brought him around on me. It's a software QA job, and my degree is related to that but I haven't done any formal testing so I'm getting by on experience in game development and what I've read about testing. I've got an in-person interview in two weeks time so I've got plenty of time to catch up and get prepared.

First ever job interview in 15 minutes, oh god, bricking itttttt e: That might have gone okay or it might have been a disaster, I can't tell e: e: I have a second interview yessssssss

The other aspect of it is that it's a sentiment borne of the idea that feminists hate sex, which is so mindblowingly off base that nobody with any sense could believe it. When I hear people repeat that I can only imagine that they're being purposefully obtuse.

We will, but only if you never mention gamepads! How has everyone found Skolas this week? Last week was another Small Arms/Lightswitch week, which I've found to be a really awful set of modifiers for doing that fight. This week it's Catapult and Angry, which are mostly inoffensive as long as you take cover more to deal with the lack of flinching on enemies. I tried it as a Bladedancer this time for the stealth, which made a huge difference for getting the mines. As long as I wasn't expected to grab the essence I could run across the arena and dismantle the far one on my own. Arc Blade is a pretty crap super for that fight though, so next time I'm going to use Khepri's Sting since it gives the crouch stealth (only reason I didn't use it this time is because I didn't have any legendary helmets ascended to replace my exotic helmet). If you haven't done Skolas at all yet then this is a really good week to try.

It really is all about sex.

Yes, come to IRC! We have fun there!

IIRC the demo gives you the first four story missions, and access to the Crucible and Patrol on Earth. You can't go beyond Earth or XP level 7.
-
Twig go play the demo, you can see how it feels there.

I use Invective all the time in PvE. The ammo generation is nice, but the real benefit is that it fires ridiculously fast and hits like a truck. If you aim at the head, four shots are enough to kill most Major enemies, or at least bring their health low enough that they can be easily finished. I don't think many people use shotguns in PvE, but if that's your playstyle then it's the best one around. You can still get a Husk of the Pit, although it takes alot longer now. There's a Blade of Crota in the first mission in The Dark Below "Fist of Crota". You have to restart the checkpoint over and over again until you get it which is a bit tedious, but it's possible.
