  1. Okay, there's a pretty decent chance I'm going to buy a PS4 controller and play Dark Souls 2 on PS3. So if anyone does that and could let me know if everything works fine, let me know! I also might just wait and play on the (hopefully) great looking PC version. Why can't this stuff be day and date!
  2. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

s-screw you guys! *runs home* Yeah the difference between Mnemonic and Little Best Buds at the beginning and ends of the project is really interesting. Pink buds turns out to be maybe too crazy of an idea to work as a game, and Mnemonic came together with the help of the whole team to make a game that really fit the original "memory" vision. I hope someone comes in and decides to fund Mnemonic. I would love to play a finished and fully functional version of that.
  3. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Are you making fun of me because I reposted the Day 9 video?
  4. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

    Friday, I think.
  5. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

By the way, there was one video where Brad Muir talked about how he basically worked on the part of Psychonauts people considered to be not very good (me included). It really struck me and made me think about how the people making the games are fully aware of its shortcomings - probably more than anybody else.
  6. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

    goddamn you
  7. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

    hey hold on a minute
  8. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Yeah, all the prototypes looked really impressive. Day 9 is up as well.
  9. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Kind of half watching the livestream of the finished prototypes right now. Steed and Mnemonic look so damn cool (visually). http://www.twitch.tv/doublefine
  10. But then I'd have to buy a PS4 controller!
  11. Chris Roberts' new space combat sim

I haven't been following it, but I really should be since I backed it and am really interested in it. Looking forward to the dogfighting module too.
  12. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Maybe putting the docs behind a paywall last time increased purchases, too.
  13. Bummed that I chose to wait for the PC version. Hopefully it's a better port than the first. But I don't have my 360 hooked up anymore and I don't want to use my PS3 controller, plus all the potential benefits of a PC version...

Steed waterwheel = HL2 blue gravity gun
  15. Spelunky!

Congrats! That Teal guy (I think of him as a boy scout) is my character. I love him so. I've started doing a few speedrun tries a day. It's a pretty fun switchup for the slow, methodic daily/adventure runs.
  16. That art definitely looks like a Campo Santo. All my theories about everything have been confirmd.
  17. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

They put the 2012 videos up, but in a really weird way. Like only on the humble bundle page or something. They weren't easy to get to, I remember that, and I watched them when they came out.

This twitter link has been posted twice.
  19. Who are Your Favorite Video Game Reviewers/Critics?

I pretty much agree with you, though I think Yahtzee has a lot of legitimate insight that often makes me go "why is no one else talking about that part?" He's not all shtick.
  20. Who are Your Favorite Video Game Reviewers/Critics?

I'm a big fan of Alex Navarro. I love reading his reviews on sports games, even though I never play sports games. His tastes generally reflect my own, and he's always reasonable, finding the good parts in bad games and the bad parts in good games. I think he's an incredible writer, with really great turns-of-phrase and creativity, and watching him take down bad games is really hilarious.
  21. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Little Pink Best Buds legitimately impresses me, on a creative and technical level. I haven't even seen anything quite like it (I guess they mention Seaman is similar), with the poking and giant human among buds and cool shadow of yourself. Also Pendleton Ward's scenario of looking at a crazy person on the street from a 7th floor hotel window and them instalocking and zooming in on your peeking is so hilarious.
  22. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

    Day 6! More more more!
  23. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Man, watching the horse animations on Steed evolve is really cool.
  24. Everything Entriech says sounds fantastic. A game that could pull that off while still allowing you to make new meaningful and interesting decisions with your larger nations would probably be played for years and years to come. For 4X games, I think it just comes down to the normal gameplay happening on such a large scale that it becomes extremely micromanagy. Like in Master of Orion 2, you're just endlessly queuing up buildings you don't really care about are building another thing at another place and then crushing your opponent.
