  1. Diablo III

You're less than 1 act into a 4/5 act story. It sounds like you're really down on it. Personally, I think it's a really fun game that gets more entertaining as your character hits higher level and has more options. Like miffy said, the story really isn't great, so I wouldn't look for that to elevate things. If you're not enjoying it, stop playing. Not everything is for everyone.
  2. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I can't believe you solved the puzzle before that one. I still have trouble with it even on replays of the game.
  3. Idle Thumbs 154: Super Good

Sean coming in at the end scared the hell out of me, too. Especially since sometimes I still mix his voice up with Jake's, so at first I was freaked out and then I thought maybe it was just Jake talking and then I freaked out again because it sounded SO much like Sean... because it was him. Surprise podcast hosts with no introduction should be banned by podcast law.
  4. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Maybe I'm just the only dummy that never found him. He's optional to talk to, which is interesting.
  5. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Yay, more updates! Just an FYI (and I don't think I read you did this, but maybe you did), you can have a conversation with Maximino in year two. His office is off of the area where Nick sits. It's strangely hard to find. I don't think I realized that you could talk to him for at least my first couple playthroughs of the game.
  6. Recently completed video games

But it does have Nick Breckon!
  7. Diablo III

Well, you might see Crusader shields/weapons drop occasionally, but to me that is identical to seeing a Demon Hunter weapon drop if you're not playing that class - you're going to salvage/sell it anyway. It's not really worth saving any sort of equipment for other characters unless it's some amazing level 70 item.
  8. Diablo III

Plus its stupid that you get the option to make a Crusader and you can't actually play it. That actually happened to me when I first booted up Diablo 3 for the first time in years after patch 2.0 came out.
  9. Diablo III

I agree it's a bit annoying to see in your game, but honestly once you start a character you'll never see any of that stuff again.
  10. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

    ho HO!
  11. Internet web forums are perfection.
  12. I haven't played Luftrausers either, but my thing is the gameplay itself is so abstract I have a hard time connecting it to anything horrible like Nazi Germany. The in-between stuff is a little more direct, but, yeah. I guess I'm kind of throwing a non-opinion into a heated debate I have little investment in. Also I'm a middle-class white male with no real distinct ethnicity, so I can't really identify with where these people are coming from either. Hurrah! Enjoyed the episode.
  13. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

That's some really cool info, Ben (thats my real name ) I always thought Manny's lip sync was fantastic in the game, I wonder if he uses a different tech?
  14. The Wolf Among Us

I can't remember the exact quote, but I think they tried to aim for 50% split in choices, except for when they didn't. When I beat Episode 3, the last, major choice was almost exactly 50%. The rest were much more unbalanced. My guess is that they tried to get that last choice much more even and the rest they didn't care as much about. Though of course I have no idea.
  15. The Wolf Among Us

    Thanks!
  16. The Wolf Among Us

Sweet. Should I worry about spoilers for the video games? I'd be willing to wait until the video game story is over, though that might kind of defeat the purpose.
  17. The Wolf Among Us

Speaking of the comics, is it worth reading? I hear it drops off, but is there a good amount to read? I'm really digging the world and would love more. I don't LOVE comic books, but I'm kind of jonsing for more Fables.
  18. The Wolf Among Us

Well I'll be here when the whole thing is done.
  19. The Wolf Among Us

Are a lot of people playing this game? Feels like I'm having a lot harder finding people to talk about it with on the internet (not that you cats aren't doing a great job!)
  20. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

    Forklift puzzle:
  21. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

That's a great point. I think I recall getting stuck where you are and it's the only place I got stuck in the game. I don't really think you're cheating yourself too much if you look at how to get past this one sticking point.
  22. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I don't want to be that guy that struts in all cool and tries to calm you down, but don't worry about losing anything. Souls are very easy to come by, and humanity is only useful if you want to summon people into your game. Don't stress about dying - all you're going to lose is your time invested in that run.
  23. The Wolf Among Us

Yeah, I dug episode 3 as well. I like how complicated the characters and their motivations are, how you think someone is a complete scumbag and they say one thing and you go "oohhhh..." and realize where they're coming from. I chose one dialog option by mistake and I wish I hadn't! Wanted to get that sweet sweet extra dialog. Also I moved a few scenes on quicker than I would have liked without being able to check everything first. Sucks because I really enjoy the characters and the world a lot and want to spend as much time investigating them as possible. Some spoiler stuff about what I chose and felt about things:
  24. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Never thought about using Illusion magic too (duh), I'll check into that! I was just doing pure Stealth. I think I even have a hat that increases my Illusion Magic skill. It's definitely fun to fully stealth a dungeon. I killed a bunch of the undead dudes in front of a dragon word wall without them ever knowing I was there. They just kept triggering as the previous enemies died and then I popped the new guys.
  25. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I'll point out (even though I think I have been much more positive on Skyrim than most of the people who posted about it before me), that I'm not that big of a fan of this style of open ended game. That's why I avoided playing it for so long. I'm liking Skyrim, though, which is part of what I'm surprised about.
