  1. DOTA 2

Are they swapping who does the commentating on the noob stream? I think there's two groups of people they have for that.
  2. Recently completed video games

There's a few that don't fall into this. FNV, both Witcher games, Deus Ex HR, edit: Jedi Knight 2 is pretty good
  3. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

I think it'll go down for a bit and then back up after TI or as it's ending.

I finished Guacamelee, beat the boss, didn't 100%. The side areas were too frustrating. I really liked the game, the combat was ok, it annoyed me how everything knocks you around except when you're dodging or throwing. The platforming was also ok. It was rarely frustrating except the side areas for 100%. It wasn't too hard otherwise, mostly too easy. The story was a joke, as were most of the characters. Joke as in, it was meant to be funny and it was, about half the time. I really liked the soundtrack and the art style, especially how the world shifting changes the scene, even the music changes! Blown Away/10
  5. DOTA 2

It was 36 casted games per day. I'll watch them later, the multicast helped blend all of them into a blur.
  6. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

Game 3 is even more painful.
  7. Sean, I listen to every new idle thumbs episode hoping there's some DOTA talk. The twist would be that he isn't a vampire. His twin brother Alucard is!
  8. DOTA 2

    EE is not an asshole.
  9. DOTA 2

    ?? TL is out now.
  10. Licenses That Demand A Game

Aren't some of the Matrix games already similar to this? And GTA:SA, almost.
  11. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

Here's the list http://www.dota2.com/international/compendium/ The game modes are for everyone, music will be added for those who bought a compendium.

You get all the couriers and weather effects as soon as you buy it, as well as one immortal item. To unlock more alternate styles for your parrot or pudgling or to get loading screens you need to level it up. The loading screens are 3 cents each on the marketplace last I checked. You can buy everything on the marketplace, ie. the immortals. Except the weather I think. Nothing of it affects gameplay so you really aren't losing out much even if you do start playing at some point. Weather is honestly the biggest one and they'll maybe add it to shareable items like the UI and announcers are atm. You can select any UI/announcer that any other player in the game has equipped. The couriers are meh, there's so many right now plus I actually like my red panda more than the parrot or pudgling. Some immortal items are cool, they're 20-40 cents each on the market right now, you could buy some if you really wanted to, making sure to not buy any that were emptied by people before being sold. It's probably way cheaper to buy all of them directly instead of opening chests or levelling a compendium. I guess the two rares ones are exceptions. All they add is alternate animations for things like storm's ball lightning trail being red instead of blue. The weather is too distracting to actually use for me right now.
  13. DOTA 2

I don't think they'll be removing it any time soon. HoN has a pretty customisable UI if you want a close-ish clone.
  14. DOTA 2

No way to do this. You can load some other UI if it's shared or edit files to put transparent panes but there's nothing rendered beneath the UI. You'd still have a black panel where the UI was. You can swap the side of the minimap and the items in the options, that's it.

If you guys want to have a coach with a Slavic accent help you learn how the game works, I can come join your games as a spectator if you're making a private lobby, or a coach if you want to use matchmaking. I'm one hour ahead of you but I'll be on from 1 pm GMT.
  16. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

I don't think any of those people ever casted/did a host thing together. 2GD and Draskyl were both working for Dreamhack, one casting in game, the other talking in between games. Blue is best at the moment: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/The_International/2014/Playoffs/Phase_Two All red logos are at the bottom, yellow is unaffected, blue is top.
  17. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

He had a few fun moments at TI2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3GnjlCVT9Q there were others.
  18. But it's still exclusive right? Exclusively first announced for Sony's shit. Still the only exclusive console it's on?
  19. So once the game is out at 60$. I buy it, what am I flying to start? Do I buy new ones with in game grinding or real money?
  20. Dota Today 13: On the Road to TI4

When games are live you can just watch this stream http://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti_noob Just open it whenever, or you can check the past broadcast from earlier today here http://www.twitch.tv/dota2ti_noob/b/545639129 at like 1:46:00, that's where the pick&ban phase end.
  21. DOTA 2

Every TI has had the announcer call out teams, the flags anyone with a custom team can set in game. I find it hard to believe they managed to fuck up the audio :\

You have to go in game and activate it to get anything from it besides adding 2.5$ to the prize pool. Once you activate it you get a bunch of cosmetic items like MSN style chat emoticons, two custom couriers, custom weather effects, an immortal item that's a cosmetic for a specific hero and you can access the compendium in game by clicking it on your profile screen. You can level it up to get more immortal items, alternate styles for couriers and a higher battle point boost which is the out of game level that gives you more cosmetics each time you get a level up. The compendium is I think 30 or 40 pages long now, it's got all the stretch goals, compendium levels and rewards and what you can do to get more more points for more compendium levels. You can fill in predictions on which heroes will be top picks, bans, how soon the first roshan will fall, length of shortest/longest game, etc. There's a section with pictures of every player on every team at TI, you can collect player cards and fill in your sticker book for more points. Like, if you don't actually play the game, just go in game and activate it and leaf through it once, it looks nice. Then check your inventory on the Armory tab to look at all the shinies you got, maybe open the chests you have. If you want you can fill in predictions for various things, but some are already locked, like the qualifier games. It'll mark how right you were afterwards. If you want to watch, this link will have it started in about 3-4 hours http://www.dota2.com/international/watch/July8/
  24. It's still neat and probably took a while to make but I don't think they had a QA tester do this for however long it took to get a try right.
  25. Isn't that tool assisted?
