The Elder Scrolls Online free-to-play betting pool!
Jutranjo replied to Niyeaux's topic in Idle Banter
It's not free to play yet, so betting pool is still open? edit: November of 2015 it'll be F2P, within 5 days of it being half a year from going B2P. -
Nothing to do with the previous statement, they just mentioned some MLG tournament in Seoul.
-
Match fixing and cheating are also different things, wallhacks are IMO different from betting against yourself. Both bad but still. Also, MLG never did events in South Korea, cmon.

This is my first time going through it but I only took it that Bob is residing within Leland now. I thought maybe he could move between hosts. Leland seeing Bob at the summer house when he was younger might mean he's been Bob's host all this time or that he saw Bob residing in his neighbour.

Why not just put this in spoilers, everything else in the other topics so far has been :\

Few people care who is #12 or #16, people mostly care about the top 6 teams in the world, maybe 8. It's notable when a team goes between tiers, like Na'Vi and Alliance. Probably the only difference is constant roster changes since there's no sponsors, less time to practice than players on Tier 1 teams, and less money to travel with which leads to less exposure to both the top teams and stream viewers. 4ASC has no sponsors http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/4Anchors The team that used to be LAJONS is now NiP, http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/LAJONS http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Ninjas_in_Pyjamas Empire and Alliance both still have many sponsors listed http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Team_Empire http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Alliance Getting 16th at TI4 got you 0$. 14th got 21k$. At TI3, 8th got 43k$, 9th to 16th got you nothing. The problems the competitive scene aren't solved but there's some lessons to be learned from other games. Like SC2's WCS system and WCS points being assigned to tournaments, region locking. I really enjoyed this episode in particular, it's been a while since I listened to a podcast that had someone who was active as a pro player talk about the game and tournaments. joinDota and the GD studio did some of that but Tobi didn't feel like the guy to lead a calm discussion, and GD is dead quiet. State of the Game had interesting talks about tournaments and game balance about SC2, this episode really reminded me of that. You guys were a bit more focused on actually talking instead of imitating a laugh track. Synderen wasn't the best guest but the greatest guest so far, I hope you guys will manage to do another one with him!

Most talked about game has gamer grub taking up #20, with 56 minutes. There's a small error with this youtube: 1:0726 — Gamer Grub - Sample Fatality's Drink There was no 1 hour discussion of pasta sauces for gamers. -
Idle Thumbs 191: Not the Greatest, but the Best
Jutranjo replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Your best video game has that as a criteria and it makes you disregards almost every single release of any video game in nearly the last 20 years. I don't agree that the best video game was released sometime before 1990. Even if you want to make your best game be about meeting strangers IRL, not only typing or voice chatting with them, I went and met with a few WoW guildies in England. I've met people at a Starcraft 2 LAN and at Starcraft 2 tournament streaming at a hackerspace. Similar with DOTA2. Maybe Esports is the best game, it has LANs with audiences that has many people meet up because of a video game. -
Idle Thumbs Asks: What Is the Best Video Game of All Time?
Jutranjo replied to posh_somme's topic in Video Gaming
WoW came out in 2004, Minecraft alpha was 2009, Portal was 2007. Maybe the newest expansion's building a stronghold takes from Minecraft (or Warcraft 2/Warcraft 3) but I don't see what Portal and WoW have in common. -

Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics
Jutranjo replied to Problem Machine's topic in Video Gaming
There's bots you can play against, to unlock the different classes you need to beat them once each. There's a single player Naxxramas adventure which has you beat different bosses with decks you build on your own as well as class specific challenges to beat the same bosses with premade decks. The rest of it is PvP but there is zero chat in the game. You can do one of 6 emotes as can your opponent and you can mute him as well. The only difference between bots and players besides the emote taunting is the fact that once in a hundred games you'll get one guy who will let the turn timer tick down to 0 each time to annoy you. -
Online Tabletop Role-Playing Extravaganza

Is this stuff randomly generated from a book or did you make each one for a specific purpose? Or do players make them? -
Soldat has around 100 servers still up anyway but there's no way to play Bionic Commando. Plus you gifted me a copy of it.

The ALL NEW Monday Night Multi-Thumbs RANDOMIZER
Jutranjo replied to Lu 's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I remembered the movement system being pretty fun to play but I was sure it was nostalgia until I actually tried it again. Running and running while jumping has a difference in speed but it's easy enough to do that everyone did it. I just saw that jump+crouch throws a flag, that would have probably made even more close saves. Throwing a grenade at the flag stand before grabbing the flag while nearly flying was really reminiscent of Tribes. Also felt great to snipe the enemy flag carrier just nearly reaching his stand with a grenade in the tunnel. We did a few CTF maps, I liked the ones with 3 paths to the flag more than the Crucifix level (flag in a room) and the one that only had a single tunnel (only 2 ways to come to the flag). Rambo (RamBOW) match was fun but it's only really fun when you have the bow. I was surprised when different levels had different amounts of jetpack charge. -

The ALL NEW Monday Night Multi-Thumbs RANDOMIZER

SOLDAT It's a free to play (more shareware/it nags you to register via splash screen) 2D side scrolling shoot things game. It's not on steam, the website to download it is http://soldat.pl/en/download/soldat168.zip It has players control soldiers that respawn. They shoot other soldiers with guns. You get 2 guns (a primary and a secondary) that you can pick and choose each time you spawn. It has a decent .html manual, I was thinking of copy pasting the text here but linking might be better. A must read are the controls: http://static.soldat.pl/man/manual-en.html#KLAWISZE The section right before that explains how to join a server which might be useful. It also lists the different game modes and has bad explanations of what the weapons do. Here are the various pick ups that are littered around the maps: http://static.soldat.pl/man/manual-en.html#BONUSY The jetpacking/movement system takes a bit of getting used to and it is no BIONIC GRAPPLE but you can get some speed with a combination of jumping/jetpacking and rolling off inclines. If anyone wants to try it ahead of time, you can even do it singleplayer, the bots will murder you. I've tried running it at 1920x1080 and had some slowdowns, I'll see if it's any one setting or I'll just drop the resolution to lower. Please help me post more info if I forgot anything.
