  1. Thumb Fortress 2

I'd be up for playing TF2 with a group sometimes but I've only played the robot tower defence less than 10 times. Also I didn't buy anything for it, is it still free?
  2. The Next President

Here's a video that goes over the spoiler effect I'm not actually 100% sure it's accurate but it seems so to me. Lots of people have probably already seen this.
  3. Just one thing about the loser bracket/dreaded MLG extended series thing in DOTA tournaments. MLG used to do the absolute worst format where people going into the loser bracket played a BO7 (or whatever) series STARTING at 2-0 or 2-1 with their opponent but ONLY if they had previously beat them. If the 2 players had not played each other, the series started from 0-0. Also the last series, the "final" was played with some weird double series or started as a 1:0 or some garbage. Here's a topic with some more info on the MLG trash format. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/316148-understand-the-mlg-format-and-extended-series I can't remember what ended up happening, if MLG stopped using it or just kept at it. They stopped doing SC2 tournaments in the end anyway. I don't remember what DOTA tournaments did in the first year or two specifically but eventually all adopted the system from The International, where there is a winner bracket and loser bracket. The winners of both brackets play in a "Grand Final" where there is no advantage in series/score/points for the team coming from the winner bracket (besides maybe choice of getting to decide which side to play or first pick). I can't remember the last time a bracketed tournament did something that wasn't this format, except maybe some pure elimination brackets (which sometimes produce weird finals). Group stages are still a free for all for weird fuckery/crazy tiebreakers. Groups go between 4 and 8 teams, do BO1 or BO2 or even BO3 between teams. Sometimes they're set up in a way that allows for a two, three or even four way tie between top teams (all of them having a 4-3 score). Then they get to do tiebreaker games between themselves. Which could lead to more tiebreakers but the rules are smartly (in a dumb way) clear: after one round of tiebreakers, remaining ties are sorted by a time rating (this is almost as bad as the extended series but it almost never happens). The european TI6 qualifiers this year only had 3 tiebreaker games but it was potentially a 5 way tie. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/The_International/2016/Main_Qualifiers/Europe If you want to look at the crazy amount of games (57 in 4 days) played at last year's TI with some pretty coloured matrixes you can look at http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/The_International/2015/Group_Stage
  4. I only know the map from the boardgame, Chaos in the Old World We always thought it was pretty much 1:1 Europe. Norsca being Scandinavia, Kislev/Troll Country the baltics/russia, The Empire being Poland or Germany from some time period, Brettonia France, Estalia Spain, Tilea is Italy and the Border Princes/The Badlands being the Balkan, probably not Greece.
  5. Intoxicated:

wow the eyes in twigs picture are HUGE
  6. Dota 2 - TI 6

There was tons of good dota in the EU qualifier! You can check most of those games to get some great games.
  7. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

There is at least one, which very clearly says what it is, it's you taking a boat somewhere, trigger being in the water somewhere. The trigger gives you a Yes/No prompt to continue, warning that some side quests will fail/vanish. There's at least 1 quest where you meet another witcher in the main area, it vanishes/fails because you go to Kaer Morhen to meet those same Witchers at some point. It WILL instantly tell you quests failed, so just saving before every main quest should be enough.
  8. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Great story, but it felt to me that 50% of the time, the twist/hook of the monster quests was "the person who hired you did not tell you all the facts/is actually the reason this is happening".
  9. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yeah, it was. I really expected
  10. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I think anything not a contract quest to kill a monster was usually pretty interesting. Even one where you meet a guy in a bar in Novigrad and he has you go dive for pearls in Skellige has some good dialogue. Even the contracts usually have something interesting, tho it's very often "people are monsters".
  11. German hour on voice chat

There was an idea on Slack that we could do a a German hour in voice chat. We'd all get on the Discord server and try speaking German with each other. Maybe about Videospiele, or whatever. We could try for this weekend, who is interested and when can you swing it? I can do till around 1 AM Central European Summer time, I can wake up early too.
  12. German hour on voice chat

I'll be online sometime between 22:00 and 23:00 my time, so 2:00 or 3:00 pm PT.
  13. German hour on voice chat

    Wir ko"nnen das lesen http://www.spiegel.de/politik/ausland/brexit-alles-was-sie-zum-referendum-wissen-muessen-a-1089870.html
  14. UK Thumbs

I can't even imagine how pissed off people living in the UK must feel now. Or maybe just England and Wales? Scots might be ok with it in the end. Northern Ireland probably will absolutely not unify with Ireland?
  15. German hour on voice chat

    How about this
  16. German hour on voice chat

So there's an overlap from 11 am PT/8 pm CEST for about 5 hours between the two of us. @theschap , what about you?
  17. German hour on voice chat

Sind es vielleicht die Aussprache von R and V die die Menschen so denken macht?
  18. German hour on voice chat

Ich kann kaum die richtigen Worte kapitaliziren.
  19. I haven't listened yet but why is the title Sly Boots but no mention of Anachronox? The greatest JRPG using the Quake2 engine from Ion Storm. The only game that lets you recruit a whole planet into your party. Sly Boots is the trench coat detective.
  20. E3 2016: Content Experience

The Hideo Kojima thing is a Survivor, Island, Vote People off it thing. You showed compassion to the baby so the audience voted to keep you on, the baby did not gather as many votes. Those dead fish and other sea things? The day 6 challenge. The 5 floating metal things? Cameras, or the net around it. Why all the other crazy stuff? They're all on drugs.
  21. E3 2016: Content Experience

Chris Avellone is a writer for Prey too.
  22. The Big FPS Playthrough MISSION COMPLETE

Also not actually needed, you can take out the robots/whatever with grenades/EMP grenades. It'll let you destroy some doors maybe?
  23. Dota 2 - Summer 2016 Roster Shuffles

We going to just sit in this 2015 thread or make a new one? Aui got kicked off EG 3 times now in total?
  24. The Big FPS Playthrough MISSION COMPLETE

Also if you haven't started yet, at the beginning of the first mission you get a choice of 3 weapons, a rocket launcher(GEP gun), a crossbow and a sniper rifle. You find another crossbow literally in the same minute you finish the conversation. There is a 2nd sniper rifle on the map. There is no GEP gun.
  25. The Big FPS Playthrough MISSION COMPLETE

The stealth section is literally the last thing you do, if I remember right. After you finish it you get a "Good job JC, get going then". Does it maybe not even let you quickload/quicksave through it? You can learn "stealth" AI as you go along the main game, since it'll always let you just try to shoot them and won't just fail you.
