There's FINALLY a ton of people tweeting in unison against gupplegorpe tonight, including lots of people in the games industry under the hashtag #stopgamergate2014 It seems like it's reaching a fever pitch after the shooting threat against Anita. Fuck. It's so distressing and exhausting and if I wasn't able to come in here and vent to you all about it i doubt I'd be able to follow it as much as I have been. Ugh. I initially thought the TM thing was how it showed up your Steam library. For example, Sleeping Dogs shows up like this for me and it drives me nuts. Also, the only chrome plugin that changes text I have installed is Jailbreak the Patriarchy which is a kind of silly thing that simply swaps gendered words with the opposite gender. I mostly leave it off, but it's fun to turn on if someone else is using my computer to CONVERT THEM TO FEMINISTS. Also, pretty depressing a lot of the time.

My friends have been hooked on my copy of Avalon lately to the point where it's all they'll play. Its fun for a game or two but I really zone out after like the third round with that same group of people, even with switching up the bonus character cards. I actually prefer BSG because the traitors have more mechanics to hide behind, and the length of the thing makes it a much less throwaway affair. Of course, the length and huge amount of rules means its a lot less accessible and rarely gets played. Bummer.

I think its the new console generation finally catching up with PC specs partially, but also its weird when a game has much higher requirements than most games that came out a few months ago. People don't want to have to upgrade their computers, and I think its pretty easy to blame stuff like this on "bad ports." I built my computer a few months ago and it's modestly beefy but still falls short of the "minimum" up there to the point where it feels like if they aren't trying very hard to make their game playable. I mean, an i7 minimum? Come on.

NO! Louisville is actually really cool. I work a handful of blocks away from the KFC YUM! CENTER and that place is a black mark on our otherwise pretty rad city. Also Papa Johns dude has a big ass house here. We are the shitty fast food capital, but are somehow still pretty cool. Also our most well known record store had to shut down a few years back and a fucking Panera is there now. I'm going to go lie down.

That is exactly what bugs me the most. My sister used to work at a women's shelter and has countless stories of how fucking shitty life is and can be and these fuckers are mad that girls want to play video games.
