  1. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

None, they build on each other and that building on gives them more than enough variety
  2. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Oh shit! Conor Stechschulte (an up-and-coming cartoonist) is selling Generous Bosom at his store. You no longer have to go through Breakdown Press and pay the pricey international shipping. I HIGHLY recommend y'all get on this. http://crepusculararchives.storenvy.com/ Re-reading BPRD and man, the Mignola/Arcudi/Davis era is solid. They're on-point with the story and the art. Everything Mignola has been working on since hellboy is slowly and creepily being parsed out through the different small (which are like 4-5 issues long and they don't overstay their welcome) arcs.

Don't know how many puzzles I've solved, but I feel like a fucking genius when I solve puzzles that have stumped me for a bit. There's this one puzzle that's got me and I've been working on it in my head; I really need to get them down on paper. EDIT: I hate being stubborn and obsessive about my puzzle solving. I have a hard time moving away from a puzzle until I've solved it. Maybe this game will finally give me the skills to do that.

Few thoughts on Inside Llewyn Davis I really related to Davis's depressive atmosphere and of feeling stuck and not going anywhere. I also think Davis is an asshole. He's an asshole who lost his friend who was the glue for many of Davis's relationship, which start to fall apart when his friend is gone. What a painful thing to go through and experience; I've been there, so another thing I related to. The blues and tonal colors of film really portray what it's like to be in a funk, a severe depression in which Davis is in throughout the film. As I'm writing these random thoughts, that movie had a greater impact on me than I thought and I really want to re-watch it. The depressive nature of the film really got to me There's more I want to say, but I'm on my phone and don't feel like typing it all out Edit: I'd say it's my second favorite Coen film.

Next to Miller, I need to also re-watch Burn. When i first saw it, I wasn't that impressed by it. Hell, it was a forgettable experience.

Haven't seen all the Coen brothers films, but my top fav: Barton Fink (the best Coen Brothers film) Blood Simple Inside Llewyn Davis (great insight into depression and love its contempt for folk music) No Country For Old Men I need to re-watch Miller's Crossing

  12. The Idle Book Club 11: Fates and Furies

I was interested in the book until I read that quote by video games. Christ. Ah fuck it, I'll give it a try. Now will y'all get more PoC writers for the book club? I highly recommend The Book of Night Women by Marlon James or The Moor's Accouny by Laila Lalami or Beauty is a Wound by Eka Kurniawan.

God, I can't wait for this game to drop. I've been stoked ever since its announcement and been following it ever since. As much as I want to play this game, I may take you up on this deal. Actually, make the 30 to 40 cigs and do 12 gallons instead of 11.25 and you have a deal.

  18. We need to talk about race

Because we desperately do. After the Charlestion shooting and continual offenses by cops and this country's inability to see that there is a gapping racial wound that needs to be addressed; we need talk. I don't know. As an Arab and Mexican whose had to have his name and lose his native tongue and country to this country, this shit will always hit close, if not directly, to home. I think I need to vent and this forum is a place where I feel we can have some discussion on this topic PS that morherfucker is a homegrown terrorist and I wish the media will say that; anyone who says otherwise, is objectivity wrong.

  21. We need to talk about race

"I am not advocating legal censorship here, partially because I’m not wholly sure where and on what basis to draw the line. What I am calling for is an evaluation, whether artistic, academic, or otherwise, that respects the humanity of people of color. We are not merely subjects of debate; we are people, and our voices need to be heard." http://womenwriteaboutcomics.com/2016/01/18/educated-into-our-freedom-what-we-talk-about-when-we-talk-about-charlie-hebdo/

  24. Oxenfree

I finished it today; I love it. Saw the ending a mile away, but it was still great experiencing it. The 80s electronic music and group horror/adventure narrative it has I have such a sweet spot for and it did a great job of it. There's a lot of feelings going through me right now and I can't express them, but I really dug Oxenfree.
