Jesus christ, from my coming across of Yiannopoulos, he seemed like a sack a shit. Now with these "self-harm does one good, it builds character," comment, he's moved from a sack of shit to being just a waste of fucking space in this world. I've been in that self-harm headspace, it didn't build character, it didn't do anything good but temporary allow myself respite from the shitty condition I was in. This goes with anyone I've talked to about self-harm. It's not an ends to a mean or a character builder, but a only option allow yourself some control and relief from how fucking shitty your life is. It's also something that can lead to irreversible damage to one's self, outwardly and inward.

I've been meaning to check that podcast out. One of my favorite movie critics, Sean Witzke, have given nothing but love to that cast.

Idle Thumbs 229: Sneaking for Carl
namman siggins replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Soma = my goty. I love thinking about the existential themes that Soma brings to the table because I love thinking about them and putting myself in a weird alt-state and having that dread upon me. I think it's comparable to The Talos Principle story wise: they both tackle consciousness, Truth and other philosophical themes. But I think that Soma tackled it a bit better and smooth what the rough edges that Talos had. Also, I have gone back to reading PKD and my mind is perfectly open for topics in reality. Shit, the game opens up with a PKD quote! EDIT: Swapper tackled existential themes too and I think it did it better than both Soma and Talos. So, Swapper > Soma > Talos -
If someone comes across a download, PM me, please.

My reading for the rest of the year:

Try not to doubt yourself, try not to go down that path: there's nothing good down there. Be there, done that.

Damn, accidentally hide my message. Like I said, nothing is wrong with you, it's on them. They could have a lot of shit on their plate or they're flaky. Move on, treat yourself and when you're ready try again. Try not to think about it, if you do, it'll wreck ya.
-
It's the best way to not treat them as refugees, but as a faceless horde getting ready to pillage white Europe. Frustrating but not surprising. At least the Austrians are doing something and are taking of them. Well, the citizens are, not the government.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I've been hooked on these type of lounge, jazzy, 80s electronic music. I feel like I'm in a john woo film or another 80s Hong Kong action film https://youtube.com/watch?v=IFS7CeCQ7gU -

It's unacceptable. I don't care how guilty you feel, you can't just move into an oppressed group and claim to be one of them. You can't, for the most part. Now there are people who grew up in black culture, who aren't black, but view themselves as black. That's a bit trickier and I think a bit more accepting, due to the immersion of the experience. Tho, there's always a chance that people accepting them can easily reject or show them that they are outsiders no matter long you lived in it. With Dolezal I know where I stand, with the second issue I talked about, idk.

-Clyde, I recommend you read the article I posted in the Share Articles topic about Korla. People passing had to believe in what's they were passing as: it was then only way it would. You had to give up your old life and family to do so too. It sucked, but you're trying to survive and find a niche in a world that hates you. And power to you if you can find something that can alleviate that hate and use it to your own good. This happened/happens a lot with Jewish, blacks and other immigrants or groups of people oppressed. It really shows the fluidly of identity and how one can adapt.
