I am interested in what people didn't like about Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. I agree Skyfall had issues, mainly the omniscient villain trope I hate. They are not the best Bond films, but they are so much better than the post GoldenEye Brosnan films. Mainly by downsizing the stakes. In general the two things a Bond film needs to be good is a smaller scale plot, (my favorites are From Russia With Love and For Your Eyes Only, both of which revolve around code machines.) and a more badass Bond girl. I have yet to see Spectre so I can't comment on it yet.

I don't see what everyone sees in that movie ...

Part of it too is that over the years I have become less and less interested in Film as a storytelling medium. I am often left underwhelmed by attempts to introduce characters, build a world and finish a plot on 1.5-2 hours. Probably the same reason I don't like episodic shows. I am a fan of depth in story, worlds and character development so many films end up feeling very shallow. Even film series often repeat so much content in an attempt to allow people to watch film 2 or 3 without watching 1 that they waste viewers time (the Avengers for example). I also agree about film pacing being an issue, there are a lot of stylistic differences that have developed from the early film era. I think there are also issues of films reflecting the era they are made in, so it can be harder for people today to relate to films from the 30s, 40s and 50s. I remember watching a black and white movie about a father who's daughter was getting married. One of the main conflicts in the film was how expensive the wedding was, but due to it being an older film he ends up complaining about food being like $5 a plate. I remember seeing the old and new versions of The Day the Earth Stood Still back to back. While the older one is good, having grown up in the post Cold War world I found the environmental damage theme in the new one more compelling than the nuclear annihilation theme of the old one. -

Citizen Kane is also super dull. I get that it is important in the history of cinema, specifically for cinematography, but if you aren't into that, its just a long dull film. -
Inara has that totally unneeded sponge bath scene in thte first episode. The episode where she has a female client was also pretty unnecessary and was used for comedic purposes.

http://www.destructoid.com/halo-boss-cortana-not-really-nude-appears-without-clothes-to-attract-and-demand-attention--318290.phtml "She's not really nude … but that's what it makes you think of," O'Connor said. "So one of the reasons she [chooses to appear without clothes] is to attract and demand attention. And she does it to put people off so that they're on their guard when talking to her and she has the upper hand in those conversations.

Does the firmness of the tofu matter? Does it work the same way with silky and extra firm?

CK2 multiplayer has always boggled my mind, who has time to play that game with others?

I hated the gamecube controller so much, It was a little better than the N64 controller, but they made so many odd design decisions. The size and shape disparity in buttons and that yellow joystick without the mushroom top were so annoying.

"Hitler didn't want to exterminate the Jews at the time, he wanted to expel the Jews and Haj Amin Husseini went up to him and said if you expel them, they'll all come here (Palestine)...'So what shall I do with them?' he (Hitler) asked, 'burn them' (Husseini responded)," Netanyahu told the audience." Words cannot contain how angry this shit makes me. This is the same as holocaust denial. This fucking idiot who is supposed to be a world leader is spreading lies to foment racism and harden the Israeli right against the Palestinians. People are not the problem, leaders like this are the problem. Is it any wonder why Israel is losing international support? They have a rich state with a powerful military and insist on insulting, brutalizing, terrorizing and killing an abandoned group of people who just want to have a country of their own. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/10/netanyahu-ridiculed-mufti-holocaust-comments-151021134424739.html

I sort of get what OP is saying (I think?). we need a better category for games that are more about exploring a narrative than classic puzzle game or killing dudes kind of gameplay, something less derogatory than walking simulator. especially with VR on the horizon, there are going to be a lot more "experiential" games. Is exploring google street view in VR a game?

One of my coworkers told me about spark gap transmitters. Their operation is currently banned in the US due to eating up a large radio spectrum, but in case of robopocalypse it might be worth having one around http://www.fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/how-to-build-a-radiodrone-jammer/34089

I think I've played a game where green barrels spread some sort of bio sludge. I would totally shoot them, I shoot all the barrels just in case.
-
in Fallout 3 and X-Com cars were as much an asset as a hinderance. You had to be aware of their pre or post exploded status and how much smoke is coming out of them.
-
In STALKER the explosions aren't that powerful so the barrels are not super useful most of the time. Also ammo is better conserved with headshots.

Having watched the first republican debate on an 80 inch screen I would not recommend this. You can see all the makeup, scars etc.

I have started using cheat engine to break games with annoying economic elements. Whenever I start a new game of Fallout or Elder Scrolls I give my self millions of gold to just skip all the barter BS.
