I usually land base parts separately then attach them on the surface, most of my bases are like a linked up convoy of wheeled vehicles. The other way is to have fuel ships in orbit to refuel your base before landing.

I did a ton of exploration as soon as I got my hands on a fighter jet, flew all over the place. I recommend checking out the upper left most island, some great vistas there.

High part counts eat memory pretty fast, its not really a graphics issue. I haven't played since i upgraded my ram and GPU so not sure how it runs for me now.

Ars reviewer was using GTX 770 min was 670. The game seems to have performance issues but it raised the general question.

I wish Fallout 4 had more DayZ type encounters where you start assuming people are bad, but you aren't sure so maybe you talk to them, but maybe its an ambush and you should kill them all. Also being able to talk or intimidate your way out of more situations, like being able to team up with the brotherhood to fight super mutants even though you are their enemy. Just Cause 2 is really just a sandbox to blow things up in, seems like they spent more time on the story in 3 but its still very minimal.

The missions were annoyingly specific for me, the fun of Kerbal to me is building a crazy shit and into orbit or exploring planets. I don't want to fiddle with my orbit so its at a specific height, angle etc.

Several of the reviews for Just Cause 3 I have read have talked about performance issues and the reviewer said what video card/system they had. This has me wondering, is there some sort of check review sites do to make sure reviewers can actually run a game? I have an i5, 8 gigs of ram and at GTX 970, hardly a crazy system and am having no performance issues, I am just wondering what the minimum a review needs to review a AAA high fidelity game.

Does anyone listen to a good board game podcast? I like how many games the Dice Tower reviews every week, but the awful theme music is starting to get to me, I also really dislike all the other segments and usually just skip them.

I plan on taking some power armor with a jetpack and exploring the highways from one end to the other. I really like how much more interesting the map is, especially downtown, you can wander for hours exploring buildings and stumbling upon firefights.

There is a day-0 patch that is supposed to fix some issues. The game got unlocked early accidentally I guess. So far I have enjoyed the game, I am still trying to get the hang of grapple wing suit as it often ends with me face planting. The biggest change I have noticed is the updated plane controls, I want to track down a fighter jet and see how they handle. Super happy they made it easy to find that last destructible object you need to liberate an area. I haven't dug into the challenges much yet, will probably do that tomorrow. I like the leaderboard concept, will probably be less fun when everyone gets the game, but playing right after launch it was cool to keep competing with the same people for the top spot. The water looks a lot nicer. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/642123563609836023/8133A7AA246578D22898D16FC412E4B1B0CAF937/

I am so disappointed in my city for this.

I am on the forums way too much and end up reporting a lot of those threads.

I haven't finished fallout 4, but I am on the final stretch in terms of the main storyline. Still a lot to do. I have almost totally ignored settlements which are a major time sync.I will probably have cooled on FO4 enough that JC3 will be a refreshing little break.

Even in games without P2W they often tilt the progression so you hit a point where its a choice between a super long slog or buying stuff. Free to Play mechanics just encourage some bad game systems.

Or prices aren't as good, because dogs can't haggle.

The fifth house cultists don't show up until you have progressed a decent amount into the story IIRC. It takes a while for you to even find out what the threat is.

I've always considered damage types in fantasy games to be part of the lore to some extent. Water/ice spells do more damage to fire creatures etc. Where as games like X-com I think of as having different damage sources but it all counts as damage, whether explosive, acid, poison, bullets or lasers. I remember in Diablo 2 my barbarian character had two axes with four gem slots filled with all possible elemental damage types, because at some point in Nightmare or Hell mode creatures started having annoying levels of resistances, including to physical damage. So instead of having a ton of weapons each focused on one damage type, I would just hit everything with those axes and deal some amount of damage no matter what. One thing I like about damage types, that only a few games have done well is the possibilities of spell combos. Freeze them then blast them with fire for extra damage. I think my favorite game for spell combos was Dragon Age Origins (my favorite spell casting game in general) http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Spell_combinations

The teleportation scope bug is funny when you are inside, you move like 10 feet. Same thing has happened to me twice with Behemoths, but I have a fully upgraded Gauss Rifle so they die quick.

I usually reach a point in Bethesda games where I say fuck it, give myself 9,000,000 caps and stop dealing with the economy. They really need to add a pet/companion that sells items like torchlight.

JC2 is one of my favorite games, saw a really cool video recently where they walked across the whole map. It took five hours.

My current plan is to build an entrance that requires jumping, or block off a door somehow
