There was recently an episode of planet money about how Index funds are a better investment than picking stocks. Might be worth looking into.

Latest Daft Souls episode has some really interesting discussion of VR at GDC https://soundcloud.com/matt-lees-games/73-gdc-and-virtual-reality

From some things I have read Vive is going to be a more open platform than the Rift, but its unclear at this point. I will always try and favor more open platforms especially for VR where balkanization could be extremely damaging to the medium in its infancy.

It will matter in the GOP primary for sure. Trump and Cruz are going to take it all the way to the end.

Does this show being moved to the old shows home mean the season 1 rewatch isn't going to happen? -
Idle Thumbs 255: Awkwardness and Harmony
Cordeos replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Yeah, I have beaten it twice, but I am still not happy with my hit on the second target. I also need to explore more paths than the one I figured out. I am totally going to try and get every challenge completed. There is a part of me that feels like they designed this game specifically for me (or my playstyle at least). I have replayed Blood Money levels so many times, trying every method. I am excited to try Paris as a mad shooter, there are a lot of guards with assault rifles so it should be a big challenge. -

Wow that looks pretty! -
Free trade is a really complex issue. Yes it gives jobs to workers in poorer parts of the world, but it also gives those companies tons of power to influence those governments and lets them produce in places with little to no worker protections or environmental laws. Without balancing out job losses in with some kind of assistance for workers you can get chronic unemployment and people supporting demagogue candidates like Trump. My company is actively outsourcing our calling to the Philippines, while I am glad for the Filipino workers it is coming at the direct expense of workers here. The low skill space is shrinking and there is little to no interest in government with dealing with it.

I am a staunch Sanders supporter who thinks he could be the most important American Presidential candidate since Huey Long. But you need to acknowledge that he is capable of being wrong and that he is an imperfect candidate at best. I will probably vote Green over Hillary, but seriously cool it dude, you are making Sanders look bad. The wonder of internet debate, especially on forums, is you can cool off before posting.

The problem is the Democratic party has seemed happy with half measures and compromises. There are not enough people in higher office who keep pushing after the initial fight is over, we need more people who treat the ACA or DADT as a first step, not the end goal. I want to vote for someone who is going to fight and keep fighting even after a decent compromise is made, because until we get all the way to a goal we shouldn't ever stop pushing.

Marvel Netflix shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, etc.)

Exactly, I usually like magic stuff but it seems really dumb in DD. Hopefully they don't focus on it in S3. -
Most complex diplomacy system on a strategy video game
Cordeos replied to Noio's topic in Strategy Game Discussion
Hearts of Iron is super complex and I bounced right off of it, but it might have the kind of complex diplomacy you are looking for. The issue is that it is very much a WWII game so you can't change history all that much without a lot of effort. -

Daredevil season 2 is really well done. Not a huge fan of the Elektra, Stick, Hand stuff, but Elektra herself is a lot of fun. The Punisher is super well done, they really delve into the difference between police, Daredevil and the Punisher. Is the Daredevil's vigilantly justice any more legitimate than the Punishers because DD doesn't kill people? Some great nods to Jessica Jones existence. Can't wait until actual hero cameos happen. -

I appreciate the Pauls because they are pretty much the only candidates challenging foreign policy orthodoxy. I disagree with them about FP, but we need more debate on these issues. It is extremely dangerous to have both parties going along with our policies with little debate. "In their annual End of Year poll, researchers for WIN and Gallup International surveyed more than 66,000 people across 65 nations and found that 24 percent of all respondents answered that the United States “is the greatest threat to peace in the world today.” Pakistan and China fell significantly behind the United States on the poll, with 8 and 6 percent, respectively. Afghanistan, Iran, Israel and North Korea all tied for fourth place with 4 percent." http://www.ibtimes.com/gallup-poll-biggest-threat-world-peace-america-1525008

The ship designer looks really basic so hopefully it won't be a big issue -
Well if she becomes the nominee or gets elected this isn't going to get better. She is going to have to deal with the media at some point.

So much these, either she has always believed in these things and did what was popular instead of what she believed was right or she has changed her mind/moved to where popular opinion is now, which is fine just don't pretend you believed it all along.

I guess I don't see how he would be any more of a liability than Obama was coming in. There is evidence of his good judgement in terms of the Iraq War and supporting the Contras.
