  1. Movie/TV recommendations

Finally saw The Force Awakens I wasn't expecting anything great, but was surprised how much little things like characters acting dumb and saying dumb things would bug me. Maybe don't tell every person you have a map to Luke Skywalker? Also fast cuts need to DIAF. Just do a long shot, you don't need to jump around that much in a two person fight scene. There were also way too many scenes that were, this will look cool vs. this makes any kind of sense. I think I should stick to movies with smaller stakes, large stake ones just seem ridiculous to me now.
  2. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

In the first movie some kids were playing the most recent game at the time. I assume this happened in the new one as well
  3. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I save scum a lot, I don't want a silly mistake to send me back to the start. Once I have a good feeling for a level I will usually forget to save, but I dont want to keep failing while I am still learning the ropes.
  4. Things to look forward to?

TITANS! If this some kind of Dawn of War crossed with Supreme Commander I will die happy. "Prepare for more epic action as you wage war with massive armies across landscapes full of volcanic terrain or on battlecruisers in space."
  5. Relaxing games recommendations

Subnautica's Creative mode. Its such a pretty game when you don't have to worry about getting eaten.
  6. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I am so hype for the Morocco level now. I really hope this game gets the respect it deserves. This level design is top notch.
  7. The Big VR Thread

Movement is a mix of teleporting and room scale walking, riding in minecarts is a bit disconcerting but overall not too weird. You can't use ladders. I want to try starting a new survival game and seeing how it goes. I would also love to explore the Game of Thrones server, but I don't think you can do online or download that particular world. Maybe the LoTR one is available.
  8. The Big VR Thread

Vanishing Realms is a good little dungeon crawler. Its fun to block, swing a sword and shoot a bow in it. http://www.polygon.com/2016/4/5/11367332/vanishing-realms-scary
  9. Things to look forward to?

Really hoping for something closer to 1 than 2, but I expect it will follow the CoH trendlines. Basebuilding C&C style RTS seems pretty dead these days
  10. The Big VR Thread

Got my Vive set up on saturday and am loving it. But just wanted to let people know that there is a really solid user mod for Minecraft that makes it playable with the vive. Highly recommended https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/4f5upo/minecraft_for_vive_in_vr_is_our_first_aaa_title/

  12. I realized the Thumbs may have missed the silliest ad campaign for Hitman. My guess is Gary will be the target in the USA level? There are a bunch of these videos
  13. The female target in the Paris level will comment if you kill a guard in the private room where she has meetings. I assume that happens more, but it is hard to test.
  14. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I feel like someone is wrong here
  15. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

I haven't had time to check out the new level yet, do unlocks from the previous mission carry over?
  16. Hitman: Steve Gaynor Edition

In previous hitman games I would only go back and replay if I had really messed up or after I had finished the whole game. Now its part of each level.
  17. Part of my usage is just interest in new social media mediums. It's fascinating to me. I also have a friend who is studying it specifically for part of her Computer Science PhD. The data usage is probably from stories, if you follow people it preloads them. In settings go to additional services and click manage. there is a travel mode that gives you control of what gets loaded.
  18. People are more willing to take a picture if they dont have to make it look perfect because it will be gone quickly. You also can select who you send each picture to, so there is a lot tighter control over who sees what. Purple means there are new stories from people you follow. Red mean someone sent you a snap directly. Blue means they sent you text. You can take screenshots of snaps, it will inform the sender that you did so. Some snapchatters actually use this to do polls. Screenshot pic 1 for X or pic 2 for Y.
  19. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I have a pretty small studio apartment and still manage to get an 80" screen up on one of my walls
  20. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I played PS3 on a 27" monitor for a while and it was fine. The issue is usually PC -> TV more than Console -> Monitor. It also depends on how far away you sit. If you are worried about size and transporting it later. You could always get a projector.
  21. Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

I made Bunny Chow. Not sure if it fits the packed lunch requirements Its pretty much curry in a bread bowl, traditionally it should be 1/2 or 1/4 of a white bread loaf, but I used buns instead. https://food52.com/recipes/20586-bunny-chow-not-your-ordinary-meal
  22. The Big VR Thread

Got my Vive shipping notice finally. Tuesday!
  23. Share Exceptional Articles You Have Read

Great article that covers a lot of issues I have with the Democratic Party http://www.vox.com/2016/4/21/11451378/smug-american-liberalism
  24. The new Unreal Tournament game will hopefully be what you guys want in terms of just bring a bare bones fast paced arena shooter. The Alpha lacks exp bars, classes etc. It does have some cosmetic unlocks but considering that user made skins were part of earlier games it doesn't feel out of place.
  25. Watching streams where someone is playing differently than you can be extremely frustrating. I remember several Xcom 2 gameplay videos that I couldn't watch because of how the person interacted with the UI.
