  1. Destiny

Strikes are just the best part. Still enjoy the vast majority of them, and I really hope introducing more will be the main focus of whatever the update is. I'm still underleveled to do a raid, but I'd love to see what it's like.
  2. Destiny

I wonder whether any of this stuff will be updated to be in game at some point. Then again does it need to be? The game is good, if there's no compelling story will it affect it in the long run. People play WoW without knowing a thing about the lore.
  3. Destiny

So the stuff the speaker sells...it's got hidden buffs right? Because if it's just vanity, that's kinda lame.
  4. Destiny

I thought I picked up Thorn, but apparently I got Invective. Probably for the best, I needed a shotgun.
  5. Destiny

Ooooh. That explains it. None of my armour is upgraded.
  6. Destiny

I'm a little confused on how light works. I got my first exotic armor today, but my level remained the same. I thought maybe there's some legendary gear that you can buy with more light (more than 18) but apparently not. So do weapons have light attached to them? Because I've never seen that. If not, how are people getting past level 25? Is it from drops that I've not encountered with more than +18 light? Or do weapons have a hidden light stat?
  7. Destiny

    Apparently this exists: destinylfg.net
  8. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I bought hyrule warriors last night. Left it downloading whie I was asleep. Super excited to play it today if I ever get home from work.
  9. Destiny

My biggest complaint is the lack of a simple LFM channel in the tower/orbit. Couple that with no matchmaking and it makes raiding or even doing weekly strikes so difficult!
  10. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

The latter. Obviously in hushed tones.
  11. Destiny

For me it happened when I hit level 2 reputation with the Vanguard. Might have been coincidence though.
  12. Our favourite moments of play

The first major boss in The Wonderful 101. The music that plays, all the different manoeuvres you've executed to get them low health. The "QTEs" where you jump from falling debris to falling debris. The cheesy 90s power rangers feel to the whole thing. Just thinking about it makes me smile. What a fantastic moment.
  13. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

That's kinda what I was thinking. If that was suggested to me on date 1 through 5 I'd probably say let's go to dinner instead. Sorry, I am one of those people that talks through a movie. 2 hours is a long time to not say anything! Don't worry, I won't sit next to you.

It seems to have wildly varying responses from both the press and everyone else. I'm torn between getting it or DK. I just think Hyrule warriors has longer legs. I can get pretty deep into Dynasty Warriors games if I try, and I've not played on in ages. I'm probably gonna get it.
  15. Destiny

I'm on my way to getting my first orange item. The idea of multi-leveled quests bounties to get an exotic weapon is cool. I like the challenge. I went for the hand cannon because it's the primary weapon I use about 50% of the time.

I played donkey kong land. It put me off all DK games since. Strange, apparently it got really good reviews at the time. I loathed it as a child. If it ever goes on sale I'll grab it. I'm really done with physical games, but Nintendo rarely does sales.
  17. Destiny

I agree. Destiny isn't a loot game, it's a first person shooter with loot. I don't keep playing because I want more and better shit, I keep playing because the basic mechanics of aiming, shooting, seeing feedback is great. The progression in terms of loot and abilities is the icing on the cake. The progression makes me more inclined to say just one more strike/heroic/crucible. The shooting is why I turn it on in the first place. Also, is any piece of purple gear interchangeable? They all benefit one style of play slightly more than another. Enough for me to care which one I have at least.

Yeah my partner likes rayman a lot. I just kinda want something new and DK might fit the bill. My only concern is that I hated the DK game for the game boy. But I was like 9.
  19. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Is DK too hard for people who don't play a lot of games?
  20. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

    DK Tropical Freeze or NSMBU?
  21. Life

There is a craigslist, but it's proper dodgy. I've been looking on Gumtree (essentially the same thing) and they're pretty damn rare. Contacted a few people who were selling them for about £50, but never got a response, so I guess they already sold them. Getting one into my car might also be a bit of a nightmare! I think I'm going to go to a laundrette (laundromat) for the first time in my life this weekend. Super excited!

Never gone geocaching, but from what I know, taking someone you've pretty much only just met to random places in a city might be a little intimidating for them. There are a lot of bars/pubs with stupid loud music in the UK too. The old man pubs are the best, rude bar staff, locals that glare at you, decent ale and no obnoxious music that you have to scream over. The reason cinema works is because it gives you something to talk about immediately after. I haven't been on a cinema date since I was about 15, but I kinda wish I could. It's not like the movie would be the start and end of the date. It's merely a conversation starter, and if you get on well enough with the person you'll probably talk through the movie anyway. Laughing at the same jokes also eases the feeling of awkwardness, and makes it a lot easier to chat after. I've never taken a date to an art gallery, mainly because I don't want to come off as pretentious, or have the date-ee ask me what I know about art (less than nothing). Other activities seem like a good idea, but if you don't know someone well (the last 4 1st dates I went on, I had met the person once each time) then it's difficult to choose an activity. I've never understood people who poach romantic partners from their list of friends. Seems weird. I think I have different criteria for friend and partner, and it also makes me think it'll destroy a friendship group when it ends.

I bought a USB SSD yesterday...I didn't even read the guidelines from Nintendo. If you can wait a few days I can tell you if it works or not!
  24. Destiny

Yeah, I don't like how there's no matchmaking for the weeklies. I'm also kind of annoyed at how shit the chat system is. There's no quick way to send an invite, and no easy way to send a reply. You have to go through the playstation OS which is slow as fuck when you're trying to invite someone, or quickly sending a reply of "done in 5 mins."
