Such a shame, F-Zero are my absolute favourite racing games. I played X and GX to death.

I hope it's updating while I'm at work! I WANT TO PLAY IN MY DAMN BLUE FALCON! I don't actually think I've ever been this excited for DLC. Kinda feels weird!

While I'd argue against that for so many good reasons, the main one is that I don't have access to Comedy Central in my country without paying extortionate amounts for the channel package, or pirating it. The only episodes I saw from CC were when I went to the US, and they weren't great. I believe I saw one on evolution which the theme of the show was "can't we all just get along?" That was pretty dumb. One with a gender swap, which seemed like they ran out of ideas, one with The Time Machine time machine in it, I kinda liked. Oh and finally the remix episode, while the art styles were pretty cool and enjoyable, the plot was garbage. That's a fair point, and I agree in That's Lobstertainment there are some good jokes, but I couldn't make it through Bender's Game. I had to turn it off.

I think that's what gets me a lot. How academic and nerd is conflated. I remember an undergrad showing some prospective students around my lab and said "this is where all the nerds work." So it's easily done, but it still irritates me.

The first time. The movies were...interesting, with Bender's Big Score and Beast With a Billion Backs being only reasonably good ones. After that I could barely stand them. The stuff on Comedy Central was pretty poor. Maybe I didn't want to like it though. Not seen the Comedy Central finale. That's Lobstertainment is a pretty weak episode, in a fairly weak season, but the next season (4, I think - the DVD and TV seasons are different) is utterly brilliant.

There's a huge difference between a kart racing game and a fighting game. Even with MK8 I've seen shells hit and a second or so after the hit actually registering. With a non-competitive game that's fine, but in Smash you need to have that instant input.

I personally can't think of positive portrayals, but that's because I've always considered "nerd" and insult. While this probably sounds reductive, but I think these people who consider video games to be so important really need some ambitions. I think the persecution complex is accurate.

That's good to know. I guess people have just been exaggerating as usual. I will probably get smash U, but I'm definitely going to wait for a couple of weeks for the online community response.

Why are they talking in Japanese? Did they only budget one commercial? Amiibos really intrigue me. They reinforce the idea of having a "main" in SSB, which I think is pretty cool. That said, I'm only hearing bad things about SSB 3ds when it comes to online play. I'll have no one to play with at home, so I was seriously hoping the online would be great for the WiiU version. Maybe fighting games just can't be done online.

The head tracker is an awesome idea. I usually turn 3d off because I hate sitting in one position for long periods of time. Question: Does the head tracker work on a bus? The 3d is impossible to use on a bus, but the fast, random and consistent movement of a bus might be too much for the tracker. So yeah: do more science.

Can this be a what is the nadir of Futurama thread now? Although the answer is pretty obvious: when it got cancelled.

So these guys self-identify as "nerds" right? I always thought that was more of an insult than anything else. Leaving aside the whole GG thing (not been paying it much attention, because it doesn't deserve any attention), it's quite interesting that they compare nerds to men and women. Why not black or Asian people? Why not poor and rich people? I don't know, it just seems odd that they'd choose gender as a comparison when being a nerd doesn't have anything to do with gender.

Crimson shroud is supposedly quite good. I've not played it much, but it's basically a table top RPG on the 3ds.

Urgh bayo 1 is just great, but I find it far too stressful to play in long sessions. By the end of each chapter, my controller is all sweaty. Quick question, is there any attack you can't parry? So like bosses or projectiles? I'm too scared to try!

I tried pad boxing with a buddy a couple of months ago. We never tried again. SO tiring, but by far the most fun form of cardio I've ever done. Fuck the real thing though, I don't want to get hurt, leave it to the real wo/men like Danielle.

I kinda agree. It's so...bright! I loved the game, and having on 3ds meant I actually beat it (closing the system down and not having to restart the dungeon was beautiful). I've not looked at the comparison for MM, but considering I've never played the original, I doubt I'll notice the small things. I hate that I'm one of those people that considers OoT to be one of their favourite games. Bleh, so cliché. Hopefully MM will take its place.

It's such a lame thing to put me off a game. I just find it really hard to maintain immersion when the characters are doing something that looks so incredibly wrong. If it was abstracted to the point that they were sprites on a map, I wouldn't care, but coupled with that level of realism makes it feel gross. I'll probably get it anyway...2015 is going to be a fantastic year by the looks of things.

I really hated the movement in the Xenoblade trailer. Shulk was like jumping over gardens in one go and had strides with enough power to send him flying past houses at an off putting rate.

Why can't I remember combos?! This is why I suck at fighting games. They just never click with me, there's no feedback you're doing it right until you do it right.

This. I love Mario RPGs, but I just lost interest with that thanks to the massive amount of tutorialisation. Every 5 minutes another tutorial. Then interspersed with that is a bunch of tedious exposition. If it wasn't for those issues, I might have liked it.
