I would love to see a metroid stealth game.

Ah ok, fuck the collection quests then, they're not fun at all. I'm on 2 star missions and can't seem to progress without doing collection quests, but I'm probably missing something... I don't really get the expedition. Which is probably what I'm missing. Maybe there's shit to do there. Also I skip through dialogue like nobody's business. Maybe not a good idea.

The Boif and I are going to spend all night playing Handsome Collection

They made a Borderlands collection without the best one...Borderlands 1? -
I hunted a couple of monsters today! A big bug and a great jaggi. Real fun. However, there's just collection quests left, how do I progress from level 2 missions? Is it just a case of doing them all? Also, how can I farm items? I want to make a jaggi set, but it I can't repeat the great jaggi quest again as far as I know.

There's so much depth that I can't even understand yet. Is there any way to look at the combos in-game, or do you have to figure them out yourself (or look up on a wiki)?

Wow, useful post. My play style favours dodging rather than tanking - I don't like that you can't move while putting up a shield, and I'd rather stay mobile. I guess getting to know the gimmicks of each weapon is important, as I really liked the dual blade's damage buff as a cooldown you can pop when there's a chance to dish out some serious damage. I did tend to hack my way into a monster with them though, which was kinda annoying. I think long sword, insect glaive and dual blades are my best options. I'll have to play around with them to see which I like the most.

Wow, I forgot about friend codes lol. That's Nintendo! I played a few tutorial missions, and I'm seriously hoping that I don't have to constantly farm the ingredients for potions etc every time I go out on a mission. The combat is just so good though, the demo really dug its hooks into me.

Welp, I bought it last night after playing the demo to death. Can anyone recommend me a weapon? I liked the dual blades the most in the demo, but I only tried those and the long sword which felt unwieldy. Am I cheating if I use a ranged weapon? Also, I'll generally be playing in the evenings 7-10 GMT so if anyone wants to team up to hunt, my NNID is griddlelol

That's pretty amazing. I started up fusion last night and I already dislike it. Why is the computer telling me what to do? I'm motherfucking Samus. I can figure this shit out myself. Let me go explore and kill things, I'll be fine without you.

Father Gascoigne? What an awesome name. Does he look anything like this? -
Metroid Zero Mission yet another metroidvania I've completed. It was great, I am absolutely loving these games, it gave me a similar experience to playing super metroid, but I found it a lot easier, probably because I understood the mechanics from the start, rather than learn them as I was playing. The . Anyway, good game, like all the metroids I've played.

I bought my bed off of ebay, and the guy delivered it for £10 extra. Also on gumtree I bought a sofa turned up and argued the nice lady down by a good 20% meaning the delivery guy I paid for was essentially free. At least in the UK "man with a van" services are pretty common and really cheap.

I think what's most exciting for me (aside from everything) is how the stat system has been simplified to the point that it's actually understandable again. DS2 was incredibly obtuse with how it split stats up, and I never really knew what to put points in to. -

I have a really important question. If you hit the PS button while playing, does that act as a makeshift pause? I really hate that you can't pause Souls games. -

The Friday release in the UK is killing me. Especially as I have a super busy weekend. BLARGH! SOULS! BLOOD! I DON'T EVEN -
I heard about that, and I'm super excited to get to that section. Fusion will be next, then once I'm done with Bloodborne, I'll pick up the Prime Trilogy again at Echoes.

Oh shit, I played about 3 hours of Zero Mission last night. It's real good. Like, really, really, good. I don't know whether it's my understanding of the mechanics, or how it's designed that's making me fly through it like crazy. I feel much more confident going through doors and not worrying I've chosen the wrong one whereas in Super I was nervous I'd get trapped the whole time. My love affair with Samus Metroid is full on now.

I listened to the Daft Souls podcast and it totally sold me on MH4. I want to wait a month or so until I buy it, but I'm probably in.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
Griddlelol replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
That seems like decent advice, I just would rather not grind through something I don't enjoy while reading a FAQ (I mean it's not like the puzzles are difficult, it's the fact I have to do them that irritates me the most). It won't make it any more engaging for me. I might go back to it at some point as with most games I quit and don't hate, but not for a few months. -
I've all but given up on persona 4 again. I played 50 hours and got way further in the story than last time I tried but after the 50 hour mark I just lose interest. I really wish I didnt have to force my way through it, especially as I was enjoying it so much right up until I just stopped caring. Bleh I want to finish that game.

Ok, I wasn't saying that people know more than that, but they do know what Nintendo is. I could also come at it from the other side, and say: do people who play phone games only, give a shit about who made them? I don't think those gamers get excited for the next game by King or Zinga they just play whatever is on the top 10 in the App Store. I might be wrong here, but anecdotally that's the case.

I finished Apotheon the free game on PS+ a couple of months ago. It's a 2D metroidvania with a strong focus on a weird sort of physics based combat, based on Ancient Greek mythology. I really liked it. I Was able to look past the problems it has (mainly the combat is awkward as hell, especially against multiple opponents) and went out and got all the trophies. I unashamedly used a guide because some of the in game clues are easily missable and I didn't feel like navigating the sailing section again. I would not have bought this game because I have enough stuff on my list, so it was the perfect PS+ game, and if you're looking for an intersting aesthetic in a metroidvania, then get apotheon, it's pretty good! On to more metroidvanias (well just metroid).

The level in a nightclub is doing my head in. I can't see what weapons anyone has, and I rarely notice if i forgot to kill someone. Boo at whoever thought that not seeing enemies in a game like this was a good idea.

They're kind of irrelevant though. The people who don't know what "a Nintendo" is aren't going to play phone games. At least that's the impression I get.
