No one. My Shepherd was too busy murdering aliens and AI to have time for such frivolous things as romantic relationships. In persona 4 on the other hand, I think I romanced every single girl. Because fuck choosing.

Rom is easily my lest favourite boss in the game, and the alien mushroom closely following. With martyr and father Gazza as my favourites. They're both parry-able bosses, but they both made me think about far more things than their swings and parry timing. Gazza not only switches up his weapons and abilities but you've also got to play extremely close attention to the grave stones. I died more times because of grave stones blocking my dodges in that fight than anything else. The martyr will slash or use spells which requires constant decisions on whether to dodge or parry, plus I didn't know until the second time you fight him you can destroy his shooting sword magic totem. Oh! Also that strike where he flies through the air to hit you is incredibly satisfying to parry. I just felt like a badass when I managed that. -

I found rom to be the hardest fight. It constantly temps you to push your luck and ignore the adds since they take so long to kill. But keeping them alive was a recipe for disaster for me. I didn't even know you could go up to the balcony in the TOR area. I just pummelled on his legs until he dropped his head, then put the smack down on that for loads of damage. Stamina feels almost bottomless to me. If I push my attacks until I can't hit any more, I'm still able to dodge out of thre before the enemy gets a hit in (usually). -

Holy shit, the hunter's tool beast howl or whatever (the aoe knockdown) is fantastic. You can stunlock people affected by it indefinitely as stamina regens while you use it allowing you to continue pummelling them before they even stand up. -

Her armour is also the coolest in the game. It's not bad either. -

Nope, they're the same, and become mind-numbingly boring because they don't scale with NG+ difficulty. -

There are actually 3- Kill the final dungeon boss, collect all hunter weapons and get a blood gem level 15. -

Unfortunately I'm stuck at level 2 dungeons which are tedious as hell. I just steam roll through them because I'm level 12X. Also I despise that they're so dark. I wouldn't even be in them if there wasn't 2 achievements linked to them. I'll probably progress to the last boss then finish them up, hopefully I'll find some mats in the main story. -

I thought there were only 3 endings...I want to see the 4th! Non-spoilery way: Eat the umbilical chords. Fight for your life. Spoilery So how do you do the save back-up? I don't really want to do a 3rd play through right now, but it doesn't seem like you can just duplicate the save file in game. Is there another way to do it? I need to find a place to farm Chalice dungeon reagents. Bad. I never have any. -

I beat Eileen's questline last night on NG+ (I faced her before not her prey). -
I think I'm the only person who's glad there's no raid. I'll never have chance to do it, and that horde mode they've spoken about sounds right up my alley.

I would be. I've had a bit of a monster hunter burn out recently, as I played for about 24 hours over the course of a week. Unfortunately I'm away for 4 days this week, but next I'll be interested in trying MP: I'm generally playing between 6pm and 10pm BST. Be warned - I'm pretty bad, and my gear sucks.

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))

The difficulty is massively overstated in the souls games. They are punishing to people used to modern games, but once you understand the mechanics a little, they're not that hard. Every combat encounter revolves around waiting for the enemy to attack, dodging, then attacking before retreating. Once you have that loop down, the difficulty comes from understanding the enemy's tells. It's also important to understand that dying isn't really a big deal. It generally costs you time, as the lost XP can be gained back pretty quickly if you need it that badly. One thing Sno missed as to the appeal of the games is how they use environmental story telling, and tiny fragments of information that are required to piece together the extremely well realised world. The story in each game is actually great, and if you're anything like me, you'll entirely miss it on your first play through, only when you start subsequent play throughs will you take the time to understand what's going on. The community is also necessary to help piece together the lore. I find that part amazing, as so many things are open to interpretation.- 1284 replies

I'd love to see what bosses people find easy/hard. It's fascinating to hear people talk about VA's difficulty when I found her to be incredibly easy. I wonder what causes the perceived difficulty difference between players. One tip I have for VA is look at her hands. -

Cainhurst is cool. Really enjoyed that place, although it felt like DLC...not that it's a bad thing. It's just super easy to miss, and an extra to the main story. -

Yeah, the great sword was fantastic my first play through, but now I have a complete understanding of the game, the slow attacks feel unnecessary and drain stamina so much. Plus they're entirely pointless in pvp. I also found out that if you shoot someone while they're using a blood vial, it stuns them for a visceral attack. That's incredibly easy to bait someone into doing that. -

Urgh, I want to respec. I've come to the realisation that fast weapons are so much better than slow. The only thing I use my great sword for now is bosses. Even then it's not that great. I'd love to use the rapier/gun, but i don't feel like farming blood X to level it up. -

It's pretty hard to find a coop partner I've found. I normally ring then go off and farm souls for something to do. So I don't really like the chalice dungeons much. They're kinda boring, and they rarely give you enough mats with one run through to then do the next level ritual, which really sucks. I wonder if there is some place in the main story you can farm the mats for rituals. -

I'm thinking an arcane build would be the best, it'll let you use all those tools (the fast roll is pretty awesome), as well as the fact I doubt many people will be running around with arcane resist on their armor. -

Did fast weapon rule in DS for PvP? I came across a guy using the mercy blade(s) with fast poison on them. I was dead before I knew what was happening. The whip with fast poison would be pretty decent too, I need to get them gems! -
Wow, tower of guns and aaru's awakening are really not my cup of tea. They both look and control terribly to the point I had to stop playing - especially aaru. The...thing you are in control of has such an ugly jump animation it repulsed me.
-
You're right. I am over-thinking it to the point of getting caught up in semantics. I was trying to avoid that, but yeah, if I continue my thought down one way, it comes to that, which means I've made a mistake somewhere along the line.

I thought that was a browser game? http://clawmark.itch.io/titan-souls They're fleshing it out or porting the above game to other systems? I think I beat a couple of the bosses in that while I was doing nothing at work, it was pretty fun.

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))
Griddlelol replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I do too. It adds a whole different dimension to the combat and makes it shine. There's a fight in Bloodborne where you manage 3 enemies which I found incredibly disappointing because it was way too easy. The AI is such that 1 rushes you, one comes forward at a decent pace but stops to cast a short range spell, and the third barely moves and throws fireballs from a distance. In an arena with 2 large columns it was the easiest AI to exploit for a divide and conquer strategy. Compared to O&S where there was similar AI - one rushes you (or sits back and casts) while the other moves much more slowly but constantly comes at you. That fight was so much harder because the arena didn't allow you to simply block line of site for a long time. The pillars were small and would break, plus as far as I know it's impossible to parry O&S. And finally, in Dark Souls, you can't move and heal, so those pillars are vital to letting you heal up in relative safety, while in bloodborne you can run off while healing. Rant over.- 1284 replies
