I have 4 GCs controllers that I regularly use for my...GC. To me this is an excellent peripheral. Not like the circle pad pro.
-
Ok. I think you just sold me on a WiiU. That is the exact peripheral I want. Have Nintendo ever specified if N64 games will appear on virtual console? Or is that just a pipe dream? Final question: how do 3ds and WiiU talk?
-
What are the chances of Nintendo supporting the WiiU for the foreseeable future? There's maybe 6 games I'd love to play, but I'm struggling to believe that there will be many more after that. I don't have the funds for a WiU and a PS4 - which will be a mandatory purchase if Project Beast ends up an exclusive. So basically, who regrets their purchase?
-
I feel incredibly pretentious saying this, but you need to either get fitted, or do a lot of research. Getting a good running shoe is kinda hard, and can get expensive. I never knew I had flat feet until I tried to buy a running shoe.
-
Yeah I missed the golden week sale. Wasn't paying attention. I just don't want to drop the cash if the controls suck.
-
Score! Another game I was just about to buy. Plus I'm racking up games for when I inevitably get a PS4. I really want to play the MGS games on vita. Has anyone tried them?

Just to point out the issue with the QTEs in Tomb Raider - this is what I experienced and other people also have noted: 1) Some were bugged (the sexual assault minigame one specifically for me) and had no actual button prompt, just a shrinking circle. 2) Some had very specific timing and the graphic on screen was no help. The wolf attack was this for me and others. It spammed the buttons you needed to jam on very fast on the screen, but to complete it you needed to press them very methodically with about 1/2 a second between each press. The graphic deceived you, but at least told you what buttons to press. Here's an example: 3) It had QTEs without an option to turn them off. Any game that does this should be called out, QTEs are shitty - learn from The Witcher and make them optional. I believe they patched them in the end, but playing within the release window was horrific.

Can you cast HOTs in HotS? -
I finished Bastion. I'd had it for a long time, I got to a point where I was spending time on the challenge levels not realising you have to upgrade your weapons to finish them so I got frustrated and quit. Picked it up again because I want to play transistor but feel bad not having completed this. I really enjoyed it. The art direction is just fantastic. The story and action were nicely paced. I'm sure most people here have at least played it, but it's something I'd really recommend.

She was always moaning! Apparently they were way more forgiving on consoles. My friend had the Xbox 360 version and said he had no trouble with them. I on the other hand must have failed more times at the QTEs than at the games main mechanics.
-
Me too!I sort of like the reboot. The narrative was completely throw away, and Lara was kinda annoying. Still, the combat and the tombs were entertaining enough for me to finish it. Those QTEs made me rage quit so many times though. Man were they impossible to do on the PC.

I tried the canal run with my girlfriend before. It's certainly more pretty than other runs I've done, but you still end up going into industrial grey areas. Also, the paths are prime for twisting your ankle with loads of stones and pot holes. I realised the same thing a few weeks back with squats! Wasn't going low enough, saw some guy in the gym doing it right and looked it up online. I had to drop the weight down, but now I'm back to were I was before and it's so much harder. Squats are one of the few weight lifting exercises that make my whole body tired. Such a fantastic exercise to do.

This is way off topic, but I tried out Resident Evil 4 today. Immediately gave up and went to Dark Souls again. RE4 controls like crap!
-
From the video I don't feel even slightly excited for that game. It looks incredibly pretty, but basically like every other cover shooter. I really want to like some ps4 games, but still nothing grabs me yet.
-
Yeah that's definitely part of the issue, the city I live in is ugly as sin. Plus when I do occasionally run there's always some smartass who decides to shout out their car window at me. I tried running with my partner, but she likes to go slow. So slow that I could probably walk to keep up. I like to go at quite a fast pace.

I see a lot of people in here running. I loathe running! I find it incredibly boring; how do you guys push yourself to do it? I know 5K isn't exactly a long run, but I still find the whole thing tedious. I do work out a lot, I've recently been pushing the whole tabata training thing. It's really fun! Unfortunately for me, 10 years of playing rugby have made me incredibly injury prone now. I just recovered from a shoulder injury, still have a back injury and a wrist injury. I like to play contact sports and lift weights. It's the stuff that gets me interested, but with all these damn injuries I feel like I should try something a bit softer like running.

Oh, I totally ignored the grass crest shield before because of the 95% block. Now that I barely block its other aspects are looking good.

Apologies if I'm coming across as though I'm stating a fact. The reason I put "looks" every time was to indicate that is was what I thought, not what I know. As in he looks like he is to me, rather than he is. I never once said he is for sure (on purpose!)
-
Seriously? Come on, you're smarter than that. Anyone can cherry pick, don't be one of those people. The guy on the cover, without an in depth analysis looks white. Whether or not he is intended to be is irrelevant - as you said: we have no details on the cover art or the story of the game. The high resolution looks less white, but I wouldn't go as far to say "oh yeah, he's 100% east asian!"
-
I'm certainly not saying there's anything wrong with the box art. I'm just saying that the guy on the front looks white. If they didn't want a white bloke on the front, then why colour him so? I know nothing about the game other than what the box art is, and that there's a tweet saying the white dude on the front isn't white. Apologies if it came across as attacking the marketing. Edit: After reading Merus' link...maybe I am saying there's something wrong with the box art.

I'm still playing my zwiehander build. So much fun to have a completely different play-style. I'm finding that I'm not using my shield on boss fights now because rolling costs way less stamina and I need that for my zwings. It's weird, I planned to play essentially a crazy tank character with access to Faith, but I'm turning into more of a ninja than my Uchigatana build which was essentially a badly designed turtle. I do have a question for SL1 runners though: Do you bother with a shield? As I mentioned previously, I'm not using it much now, and I feel with a SL1 run a shield is asking to get smacked down a lot. Do you dual wield or something? I tried the dual wielding once and it felt incredibly awkward to me.
-
That's a coincidence. I also just finished Saints Row IV. I didn't 100% it though, I'd had my fill of the side quests, especially as I played so much of SR3 and many were similar. Fantastic game though, really enjoyed playing it and for me the stand-out parts all included licensed music. I honestly can't think of another game that has used it so well.

VR Games, or Hiro Protagonist needs him some ICE
Griddlelol replied to Frenetic Pony's topic in Video Gaming
This looks like nausea incarnate. I really want to try VR in some way, but the delay on hand movements are what make me feel like I'd have to take it off fast. Looks kinda fun though. Gone Home: Revengance -
He sure as hell looks white. With that white skin and all.

Anyone remotely space geeky should check out this Elite Dangerous alpha video :D!

The title of this thread puts me off more than posting about it more than once. Anything "geeky" is probably not aimed at my demographic.
