Yup the main character dying causing a game over is a pain in the ass. I made the huge mistake of putting it on hard. Some of the bosses are brutal on hard and they remove the weaknesses that they have on the other difficulties. My own hubris didn't help the experience, but I don't think it would have overall changed my view of the game. I'm more angry at myself for not being able to complete it. Especially after 50 hours.

Well...it's similar as in my control input was fucked up. So I guess not very similar. Tried any other controllers?

I did find a cave once! It was pretty cool. My girlfriend is going away for a few days soon so I'll probably pick this up again then. Just wondering: is it actually possible to build a defensive position? Any base I try to make comes across the problem of not having a door...

I experienced something similar... All my inputs were inverted. Not going to tell you anything you wouldn't have already guessed, but I reinstalled and it worked fine after.

Fuck! I don't want to but I'm quitting Persona 4: Golden. I love everything about it, the music, the art, the narrative. I just don't like the game. The combat isn't interesting enough to keep me playing more than 50 hours. Going through what I think to be one of the last dungeons feels like a long boring slog. I practically force myself to play for 10 minutes then put it down for days. Feel incredibly guilty, but I think I'm just going to watch the endings on youtube. I think my experiment with JRPGs has been a failure. I just can't like them. Western (or Western inspired - looking at you Souls series) are just so ingrained in what I think an RPG should be. Also they tend to focus more on combat and forging your own story. Rather than playing as an established character with simple mechanics. Oh - and WRPGs tend to be a hell of a lot shorter. Sorry Japan, your RPGs aren't for me. I don't get it. I love Pokemon.

I tried to play again with my new TV set up. Man it feels so slow with a controller. Forcing a pause to switch item is a shocking change for me. Mouse and keyboard is so much better. Also; has anyone hit an "end game" I always rage quit for a couple f weeks if I've played for hours then die. Always go back though.

Argh, 3d world is such a good game. It's completely distracted me from mario kart. I'm normally useless at 3d platforms, but this game feels so well designed. I had a little coop fun with my girlfriend's room mate and despite never playing it before he picked up a motion plus controller and did fine. I do hope the difficulty goes up a bit though. I'm on world 3 and I'm finding some stages too easy. If your NNID is linked to a 3ds as well, do virtual console purchases exist on both the devices or are they locked to the one you purchased it on?

Ironic that you've pointed out a game that I raged about earlier for being cancelled in the EU and the 3DS being region locked. I was super excited for Rune Factory!

I feel like there's been a 3ds game drought. 2013 was fantastic, but nothing seems to have come out except for Mario Golf, which I'm not interested in. Am I missing some hidden gem somewhere?

I'm not sure it'll have an impact on game play, but it'll certainly have an impact on how people view the game. If there's suddenly: Link: A Zelda to the Past, I'll laugh and ignore it completely. If they make something new that doesn't follow the stereotypes, I'll be interested. I just hope they don't think it's a good idea to arbitrarily change beloved franchises or games and end up with something dumb.

I'm torn on WWHD. I've beaten the original WW 3 times (well 2 and the last one I got to ganon and stopped) so I don't feel like I need to get that game. It's incredibly cheap everywhere though and WW is my favourite Zelda, and probably in my top 5 games of all time too. Might just get it to see if my girlfriend will be interested. Plus it looks gorgeous. Zombie U? Anyone played it? I've read mixed stuff. A lot of people say it's pretty bad, but there is occasionally an advocate who says it's like a zombie dark souls (specifically Patrick Klepek from Giantbomb). I've seen it used for about £3.

Yup, I guess because no one has a wii u in the UK. I went into GAME to look around (before getting it on amazon) and quite a few people were looking at wii us. The thing I hate about GAME is that they sell you a bundle which is more expensive than any other shop and has a bunch of crap included that I'd never use. An extra charger, a screen protector, a stand for the console and a stand for the tablet controller, I think another stylus too. Something like that at least. When I asked if I could take all that junk out and get it cheaper they declined. Silly, I would have payed a few pounds more at GAME just to walk home with it rather than wait for amazon.

I didn't notice getting anything when I joined. I'll have to go back and check my inventory.

Congrats! Yeah I think I'm going to pick wonderful 101. I don't think I'll have time for the 100 hour epic that is monster hunter. Plus I heard that coop is pretty much mandatory for progression.

Awh 50% would be great. So the covenant is pretty much pointless for me. No real online capabilities.

The choice is between wonderful 101 and monster hunter. I tried MH on my 3ds but found it a bit annoying to play. Wonderful 101 seems to have a strong fan base, but MH I already know I'd like.

I ventured into the ash lake today with my zweihander character. Man that place is beautiful. Not sure what the point of the covenant down there is though. I also beat quelaag - the only boss I used a summon for on my first play through. Felt pretty good! Oh also, the flip ring is so cool.

So I bought a Wii U today. With mario kart and super mario world. Should be arriving next week. Can't wait!
