Holy shit, these videos are hilarious. I wish I had GTA4 and join in the mayhem.

I'm pretty excited for this game! Looks absolutely beautiful and exciting. Also, that violin in the Broken Age teaser trailer, holy shit. I love the subtle crescendo, it gives me the chills.

Iiiiiiiiiit's... In all seriousness, it looks ok? I mean, I don't see anything unique to the whole thing. The TV show angle seems gimmicky. But hey, it looks pretty, I guess.

Learn Spanish and read them in their original language. Nah, in all seriousness, Hurley is a bit cold and literal in his translation. In works such as Borges, or any work of Spanish literature really, that's not a good thing to convey within a translation. I'd say get both either way, since I assume you do not know Spanish and won't have to suffer with the fact that the work in its original form is much better. Since I know Spanish fluently, the quality of writing between translations of his works and then the works in Spanish was greatly apparent, more apparent than most English translations of Hispanic/Latino literature, in my opinion.

Holy fucking, shit that music from Tropico is fucking AWESOME. My mom would fucking love that shit, since she's a humongous salsa fan. Anyway, I'm in love with Kentucky Route Zero's music. This one mesmerized me.

Only in the Dishonored version. Nah, in all seriousness, congrats to both of you and everyone else at Fullbright. You guys deserve much better, but this will do for now.

I keep doing this to myself (well, I did this year and the year prior. Haven't watched any VGA other than those) because I want to see up close what is wrong with the video game industry and point and call for change within it. This is a show that is watched by millions, unironically and with glee. That is a saddening thing and by commenting on the show's disgusting qualities I can at least meagerly hope that something will change for the better. Good for you for not paying attention. The shit they fucking said wouldn't be acceptable for any other fucking award show. Just read this: http://borderhouseblog.com/?p=11609 Even one of the Gone Home members was arduous with disappointment. https://twitter.com/koalaparty/status/409483602116636673

Yeah, but not THIS terrible. Seriously, ignoring the offensive jokes and the Joel McHale's depressed state during the show, the entire show was fucking haphazard in production values and actual care. The fucking thing looked like it was filmed in some random dude's apartment loft, no one seemed to know what the fuck was going on, and everything was just...UGH. UGH. At least previous VGAs had a few interesting and memorable things, but this was just 98% BAD (The Telltale announcements, No Man's Sky, Mega64, and Hot Scoops getting an award was cool). I'm amazed I managed to keep watching it, but thankfully I was watching it with someone else, so I had some company at least. Sums up these two's "chemistry" throughout the entire thing.

Hot damn, awesome! I love this movie so much. And so happy that two of the most critically and commercially successful movies were made by Latino directors (those movies being Pacific Rim and Gravity). Makes me happy to be Hispanic and seeing people of my race and ethnicity make grand and beautiful films watched around the world. <3

Sums up the whole thing beautifully. That was fucking embarrassing and disgusting with only microscopic glimmers of hope.

He actually said he was drunk. Wow, I know he's been saying shitty and insulting jokes, but I feel so bad for him. Not only is he drunk, but he hates where he is and why he's here. He's such a lively guy at interviews and other live events, but this...this is just sad. And I feel he knows people hate this. McHale was always been outspoken about the plasticity and coldness of Hollywood media, and I feel he's getting the same vibe from this gig he's doing. Also, I feel this show is unintentionally becoming an odd deconstruction of modern mainstream vidoegame industry and culture. Crass, cold, calculated, lacking in empathy, and purely commercial in mindset. VGX is the Inferno and Joel McHale is its Dante.

The only good thing has been Mega64's video, which I loved because a ) Mega64, b )It kinda' takes a shit on the show it is being presented at. But yeah, everything has been so fucking bad and awkward. Are they filming this from someone's fucking apartment?

A Mushroom Kingdom Year equates to 10 Dishonored Years of Luigi. So says the Slash Wizard. Also, nicely casted pod, guys. Happy that one of you has finally played Gunslinger.

What disgusting people. I don't usually think this, but I hope they fail in life. This is fucking preposterous. Even worse are the magazines and movie PR shitheads trying to use his death as a way to advertise Mandela's biopic. Don't get me wrong, the movie could be good and whatever. But the fact this man's death is used as an advertising start point is simply disgusting.

-
Surprised that there isn't an idlethumbs.net/wizard Slash Wizard thread yet... *eyes the Start New Topic button* Mmm.

Yes all around! But seriously, as much as I disagree with Bogost's position, I am so fucking happy it exists. In world where people hand wave the game for not being a "game", and where assholes scoff with vitriolic glee at the game's short length, "lack of gameplay" ("where's da challenge? where's the enemies?!"), and its themes surrounding family, the zeitgeist, and young homosexuality...Bogost's essay os academic, smart, and comes from a well-intentioned place. I'd rather have 5 trillion essays of his over any homophobic/sexist rant on how "THIS IS NOT GAME!!11!! FEMENIST GAY BULLSHIT LOLZ1!1"

Yes? Oops ignore this post I didn't get context sorry.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJl-yvWxJx4 Oh god this song always gets me. And the moment it plays in the film (the ending) is amazing. Don't listen if you haven't watched Babel! The effect is lost somewhat. But still...goddamn, what a beautiful pair of songs.
