  1. [Release] Nineties Cockpit Freakout

Is that second screen simply the model rendered in UE4? Because that looks really nice already! I'm kind of picturing this game as a 3D Single Player Space Team, which is to say that I'm looking forward to it.
  2. [Dev Log] Episode Forty-Five

Yeah, you're probably right. The problem was that I didn't know what I wanted the game to be, so it was hard to tell if Twine supports it. But I like the thought of making something with it so I built my present ideas around its feature set. It's also far more feature rich than I expected, with custom scripts and all. It's great how customizable it is while maintaining a really approachable UI. Currently I'm planning a game with a time limit of 21 minutes (though that's almost certainly too long) during which the player has to "collect" laughing track plays by deciding how to react to the scene described, trying to escalate the situation.
  3. So, I think I will try to make a game about Episode 45 - Episode Forty-Five. Though I would describe my coding knowledge as intermediate I have never made a game. That's why I'm still unsure what tool to use, and what the gameplay should look like. Somehow I'm always coming back to the idea of making a Twine game. Mainly because it's a tool I'm really fond of even though I never used it. Maybe it's because I'm terrible at everything relating to asset and content creation and it lets me get away with doing only one of those things. Anyway, here's the concept: "It is the early oughts. The licensed game making craze is at its all time high. The producers of "Chris", a character spin-off of the long running sitcom "Thumbs", decide to commision a game to their 45th episode. Episode 45 is in no way planned to be a special one, it's just the way things are at the time. This is that game."
  4. Holy shit, two progress pics and I already feel inadequate. Nice work! (No, really, nice work guys. Those Jakes are fantastic.) Great idea for a jam btw., I'm glad it was mentioned on the cast. I quickly had an idea for Epsiode 45, but I'm still not sure what the gemplay should be. I can code, and really want to, but never made a game, and my mind always comes back to Twine. Is there anyone planning to make a game in Phaser?
  5. Wizaaaaaards!!

Wizzer, an indispensable tool for all kinds of situations: [Link's dead, I'm sorry.]
  6. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

As much as I like not liking Penny Arcade, their former tech guy has written a pretty honest sounding response on the PA forums about the reality of the job: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/185114/about-the-penny-arcade-job-posting But this comment on the job-posting is still pretty valid regardless: http://cwbuecheler.tumblr.com/post/68163195864/on-penny-arcade-exploitation-and-the-myth-of-the
  7. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I really like the idea of a Comic Book Book Club, so I decided to create an account. My suggestion is Fatale by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. I haven't read it yet, but with its mix of classic noir and Lovecraft inspired horror it seems as if it would be a good fit. (And I like the idea to start with a creator owned book by a writer of superhero comics. Best of both worlds etc.) Since it's still ongoing I'd suggest that we read the first volume. And it's released by Image Comics, so it's certainly available digitally. Otherwise there's always the highly praised Locke & Key by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. That first volume would even be named "Welcome To Lovecraft." So yeah ... Lovecraft all the way down. But all suggestions yet would be great as well. Regarding the old EC stuff I found this: http://www.fantagraphics.com/browse-shop/the-ec-comics-library-2.html?vmcchk=1 and this: http://www.darkhorse.com/Blog/1444/dark-horse-publish-ec-library-tales-crypt-coming-h btw.
