  1. Secret History of Twin Peaks spoilers Good points raised about the two Coopers, fingerprints, etc., I retract my previous comment.
  2. Dougie-Cooper wouldn't have the gunshot wound, though, because that'd be on Cooper's original body, which is currently being driven around by the doppelganger Cooper.
  3. The Idle Book Club 27: Jesus' Son

I have to ask: did anyone immediately catch on that all of the stories have the same narrator? It took me until the second of the Two Men stories (can't recall the name at the moment) to figure it out.
  4. Surprised one of your questions wasn't "How's Annie?", Jake I'm surprised I never made the visual connection between Nadine's drape runner obsession and the Red Room curtain-walls.
  5. Random thought I just had: Is Diane's clothing slowly becoming closer to the monochrome FBI suits Cole, Cooper, and Albert seem to wear constantly? I remember she has a bright red blouse in the interrogation room with the Cooper doppelganger, and then this week I think it's just a black blouse with a colorful color?
  6. Every scene of his has been so good. I love that Bobby is in a place in his life where he can go to his mom's house and she's happy to see him, and he thinks of Truman and Hawk as "the guys".
  7. Yeah, I one hundred precent expected her to take out a gigantic manila envelope labelled THE SECRET HISTORY OF TWIN PEAKS Getting a kinda-sorta throwback to Cooper's Zen rock throwing was okay though!
  8. The interesting thing about the Briggs message to me is that it has the Mother/Experiment symbol over one of the two Twin Peaks and the other one (I think, I'm a little colorblind) has a golden orb - for Laura/the Giant? Zebras have alternating black-and-white stripes like the Red Room floor. Penguins are also black and white. I have no idea if those girls are actually aware of that stuff, but it was the first place my brain went to.
  9. The WHOIS data on that appears to be from November 2016 too, about one month after the Showtime announcement. I'm going to bed to let the Internet dissect that sucker.
  10. Also, this is kind of unrelated to actual Twin Peaks discussion, but God, do I want one of Nick's "And this is Important If True!" intros to be done in the Black Lodge backwards-talk.
  11. The stuff dartmonkey talks about here is actually how I assumed the show would start when it was first announced. I don't really mind the Dougie stuff, but I think there's a lot of meat on this particular bone that I'd hate to see left unexplored.
  12. Yeah, I'm curious about that sequel but I'm also the kind of person that can't skip to book 20-something in a series, even if they're probably-loosely-interconnected mysteries, so I'll probably get to it in about 10 years.
  13. Vis a vis Earle/Evil Cooper's briefcase computers: the impression I got when Cooper's was first shown was that it was a standard-issue piece of FBI tech that Evil Cooper had either taken from the real Cooper's stuff or had picked up from Albert. I love the idea that it's Earle's, though. (I don't really care if it's obviously a newer device, as David Lynch's idea of what technology is is extremely nebulous)
  14. Listening to the episode now. I laughed way more than I should have at "...I guess Franklin just gets a happy ending?"
  15. Rendell's publisher was obviously concerned Americans would mistake this for hit 1998 platformer Grex: Enter the Grecko
  16. I'm not a gun expert either but my understanding is that it's possible to interfere with the mechanics of the gun (the firing pin?) in other ways such that it just won't fire.
  17. Bad Coop/Mr. C and Audrey being Richard's parents seems like a lot when known philanderers Ben and Jerry Horne are still kicking around.
  18. E3 2017

Updated my list. Gotta agree with the comment upthread that this year was pretty light. Here's hoping Cyberpunk 2077 shows up next year.
  19. E3 2017

hype list so far: +++++ Spider-Man ++++ Tacoma +++ Shadow of the Colossus (I missed all previous incarnations) +++ Hidden Agenda ++ Monster Hunter World ++ Battletech ? Beyond Good and Evil 2 (still need to play the first one) ? Anthem ----- Life Is Strange: Before The Storm Hoping Nintendo brings the heat today
  20. Some quick searching says Gerard's last appearance before season 3 is in 2.09, "Arbitrary Law" (the episode where Leland dies) when Cooper and Dr. Hayward argue about giving him his drug and he points them to the Giant to find BOB.
  21. FWIW the vibe I got from that was less "boyfriend-girlfriend" and more "I got caught checking you out so now I'm gonna play it cool"
  22. E3 2017

Is there a list of the stuff Devolver showed off somewhere? All I can find are videos. So far, there's not much that seems like a lock to me, or at least not stuff I wasn't already aware of. I'll definitely be getting the Life Is Strange prequel and Tacoma. Anthem is a maybe, I'm going to wait and see on reviews first.
  23. Someone had to point this out to me so I'm posting it here: the papers Hawk finds in the bathroom could be the pages from Laura's diary with "The good Dale is trapped in the Lodge."
  24. I really enjoyed this! I wasn't sure what to think going into it, as I had never read anything by Rendell before. The characterization of Teddy is really interesting, up until he kills Keith, I was very unsure of how I was supposed to feel about him. I'm interested to know what people thought of the Francine thread of things, particularly her destruction of the letters. This felt like a point Rendell was trying to get across that went over my head.
