I wonder if he's trying to promote a new time travel game.

I got pulled back to MB right as I finished a side op, which pissed me off because I had like 4 sleeping elite soldiers and a bunch of crates in the outpost waiting to be extracted.

I could do this all day.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

You just reminded me I never got back to Fez so I cheated and looked up the 64 cubes ending. Eh, s'okay. The 32 cubes ending is one of my favourite game endings ever. So, if you're 100% not playing any more totally go look that up. No context required. -
This is only tangentially related to GG, but I read this and couldn't help but think of them. http://www.gameplanet.co.nz/news/g560c5ef778fda/OpenCritic-to-battle-Metacritic-with-transparent-systems-user-customisation/ Particularly this part: I mean, I'm all in favour of giving Metacritic some healthy competition, but... I don't have to explain why this is doomed to fail, right?

Regardless of how you feel about the content or direction of Kojima's stories, I think it's fair to say that nobody has attempted to introduce narrative and cinematic sensibilities to games quite like he has, or at least not on the insane scale he has.

Man. Alundra is one of those games I have genuine nostalgia for, having only ever seen it in a magazine. It was in one of my issues of Official Playstation Mag that I would constantly thumb through and dream of being able to afford anything. -
If you hold up your own guys and tell them to "spit it out," sometimes they'll give you the location of diamonds, telling you "I don't know what came over me... I hid these diamonds here." So... I guess it makes sense...?

Completely unrelated to current discussion (sorry girlfriend).

Non-monogamy is something I have zero experience with (or interest in), so I'm really curious to hear your, or anyone else's, take on it. Honestly, I wasn't even aware anything in that comic was an issue (I don't mean that in a dismissive way, I'm genuinely ignorant about this).

Yeah, it's seriously baffling why they would even punish you for dying on mother base at all. The first couple times it happened I lost a bunch of hidden gems I'd collected, which is such a tedious thing in the first place that I kind of gave up on giving a shit about the base at all. D-Dog is my waifu. Anyone else max out their bond?

So I watched Sixth Sense with my girlfriend the other night, after learning that she hadn't seen it and didn't know anything about it. I was so goddamn excited through the whole thing. Had to casually shrug off a few questions like "why is he just stalking this kid?" to keep her from sniffing out the trail. Witnessing her oh shit moment at the end was something truly special. Also it's a pretty good movie! Holds up fairly well, minus a few awkward pieces of dialog. Then we watched M. Night's latest one, The Visit. Yeah, it's not so great.

I'm struggling to see how this is a useful distinction.

Derek Smart once again demonstrating he has skin as thin as the design doc for Battlecruiser 3000AD. https://storify.com/QHStone/derek-smart-invents-feud-with-randi-harper Like, jesus christ, it just keeps on going.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Been waiting for this album to drop for what seems like forever! Crazy inventive metal, their first EP was intensely catchy and stylish. Good lord, the EDM guitar tone in this track - http://novallo.bandcamp.com/track/i-am -
Hey! I didn't think I had any interest in guys beyond forming crushes until I practically tripped and fell into a relationship with one. Now I'm back in a straight relationship and it's sometimes weird to think back on it. I still identify with the feelings I had at the time, but it's hard to see that as the same person I am now as opposed to another "version" of me. I'm not really sure what the cause of this is. I definitely had to work through some feelings at the outset, but I was never really ashamed of it, and everyone I knew was super cool about it. Mostly it was just a matter of getting used to the power dynamic in the relationship since he was very confident and self-centered and I was not. Anyway as a formerly straight, now technically-bi-but-hetero-leaning guy, I can totally recommend sex with a dude as long as it's safe, mutual, and he's clear on your feelings going in. Just don't push yourself to do anything that feels uncomfortable. Even just kissing and touching is pretty rad.

Man, I don't like it. The colours were so vibrant and distinct in the original. B&W makes everything look too muddled, makes it hard to keep up with the frenetic action sequences. Does make me wanna go watch some Kurosawa, tho.

How long until you can develop an HR platform?

Just beat the final caravan quest. That Kushala fight was bad. ass. Are there any more like that in G rank? That's the kind of gimmick fight I'd like to see more of.

I just learned great sword, too. It's super easy to learn but almost too simple for my taste. Although, it does feel really damn good getting a full charge combo off on a tripped monster. I've gone back to full-time charge blade and loving it. Upgraded my Nerscylla CB to rare 8, with +15 status atk on my armor the poison demolishes monsters. Yeah, they're kind of the worst. Dah'ren Mohran was a huge pain in my ass until I learned him, too, now he's so simple the fight is a boring grind. Dalamadur is the same now. :/

The church scene was definitely the turning point. I kind of just sat there slack jawed as it just kept on going and getting more and more ludicrously violent. Like... I almost want to give the movie props because it felt like a genuine shock, but I don't think the movie really earned it because the tone isn't carried into the rest of the film whatsoever. It instantly reverts back to jovial, "stylish" crassness, but in a way that's almost like they're winking at the camera, but not really? Like, I genuinely have no idea what tone they were shooting for. The part that solidified my opinion of the movie is the end sequence where Sammy J's villain is fucking up the world while the hero takes his sweet-ass time stylishly making his way to thwarting him, stopping to chat up a random damsel along the way (don't even get me started on that closing scene, fucking hell). Then you have all these SUPER CLIMACTIC scenes which are intercut between people from various countries mercilessly slaughtering each other, and handsome chavvy hero lad smugging it up to save the day (was I the only one who thought he looked ridiculous with the slicked hair and glasses though?). And it's like... I guess they're trying to emphasize that he's a true gentleman now, because he's all suave and nonplussed? But it just comes off as though he's treating it like a game, like the actual character on screen has wholly bought into what a shameless power fantasy the movie became. I don't know, man, it's just such a queasy, confusing mess. But then the parts of it that aren't like that are so fun, and directed with such flair. The movie wouldn't be so frustrating if I wasn't so conflicted about almost liking it. I had a far easier time hating Kick-Ass. :v
