  1. Life

Any body else have crippling anxiety? I constantly am afraid that everyone actually hates me and that I am a terrible person. Life sucks yo.
  2. Cartoons!

I watched Ernest & Celestine a month ago and I am still thinking about it now, I would have to say it is the best animated movie I have ever seen.
  3. Motivation.

I have a huge problem with motivation, especially lately. I have a huge list of games I would like to make and I know I could make but I just have no energy to work on them. Do any of you guys have this problem? I want to make stuff desperately but I just can't seem to do anything. So far all the games I have made have been super small and about conveying something that I have been feeling, but lately I haven't been feeling anything. Maybe that's the problem.
  4. Motivation.

My gut reaction is to say that I would be interested however I don't think I have anything to contribute and my game making is predicated on the time I have an a VERY specific idea. I find that I have a end product in mind and then change things are developement goes on. But I think all you talented and cool people should do this because you are all awesome.
  5. Burning out rapidly on ideas

This is a huge reason of why my games are so janky and thrown together. I make them in a night ideally, the longest I have ever worked on a game was two weeks.
  6. Lego is Still Cool

I have been hired back at LEGO for Christmas, I will be doing some recon.
  7. Post Your Game for Playtesting and Feedback!

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a way to convey the way I felt mechanically, I felt it was important to make you physically make the choice. My games are personal for a reason and meant to be a dialogue, maybe even a conversation. I think I fail in that respect 100% of the time but I am trying, making a game takes time and trying to make something small in a night can be tiring.
  8. Post Your Game for Playtesting and Feedback!

I made a really shitty narrative platformer about how I am sad. http://graysoneevans.itch.io/more-often-than-sometimes
  9. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

My first heart kill happened when I got choco milk, tammy's head and polymorphus. I walked into the fight with a charge shot and used tammy's head. instantly dead.
  10. The DS is ten years old.

I remember when I saw the mic I thought that meant voice commands.
  11. Motivation.

the more I think about it the last time I made a game was when I was happy for the first time in years. That sucks
  12. Motivation.

I tried the whole "a game a week" thing and had a nervous break down so I dunno.
  13. Motivation.

I have heard this as well, I have been clinically depressed for eight years and only had a brief window of motivation, maybe a month a most.
  14. Idle Thumbs 185: Beppo's Hole

I think it took me five months to beat the last area of Pokemon Ruby when I was young.
  15. Lego is Still Cool

No Bobba Fett santa this year??
  16. Big Hero 6

Big Hero 6 is not perfect by any means, has a few plot holes and some of the writing misses the mark. But man I loved the movie, the message they were trying to represent came off honest and was well represented, and the character design is super rad. I think the opening short to this film may be the best one yet, hit me on a personal level pretty hard and expertly made.
  17. Lego is Still Cool

The new mine craft is conceptually closer to the game which is nice.
  18. Dreams!

Lately I have been having dreams about hanging out with some people that were really close to me but I haven't spoken to in a while. I wake up and realize it was a dream and then I am super bummed. Dreams suck yo
  19. I think it's time that we see a modern retelling by the late Sean Vanaman, but for real: this is super cool and I am excited about it. 20. Screenshots. Shots of your screen.

oh man I never noticed that! The game is super fun but I remember it being crazy long, I think I was stuck on that god damned paper crane riddle for a month.

I really liked the first Battle network game, had an interesting combat system and the way they handled upgrades was really smart. Story was not so hot but you know whatever, Video Games.

LEGO story #3: I was running a tournament for something called " Chime Speedorz", they are kinda like bey blades but you race them. So I was trying to wrangle some kids for this tourny and there was this one family that would always sign up, except the youngest sibling who was five. I finally convinced her to take part in the tourny but there was this fourteen year old kid who showed up and was kinda acting like a prick about his knowledge of chima and his speedorz skills. He kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain the rules to pitch his fan fiction, he was the worst. Anyways after some weird races and some upset kids the grand final ended up being the fourteen year old and the five year old. Since she was five I gave her some help, I let her pull the chord that spins the wheel to make the thing go and since I was pretty good at the speedorz after playing with them for eight hours a day for a month the five year old ended up winning. The other kid lost his mind and walked around the store kick shelves and swearing, I kinda felt bad for him. LEGO story #4: When the LEGO Movie came out the company paid for us to all go see it together as well as have a fancy dinner, but for the whole month of the movies release "Everything is awesome" played every fifteen minutes all day every day. It played so often that my brain started interpreting it as white noise and sometimes I literally couldn't hear it anymore.
  23. Lego is Still Cool

Isn't that why the podcast is called "Idle Thumbs" ?

LEGO Store story #1: man came in and asked if it was ok if he could buy some stuff to donate through charity, I of course told him it was ok. He then spent and hour walking around the store giving while I followed him with a pad of paper writing down everything he wanted. He ended up spending ten thousand dollars on lego. I had to take a cab filled with LEGO to the children's hospital to help him bring it in. LEGO store story #2: A little girl had just turned four and wanted the biggest Duplo set but her parents couldn't afford it, she only wanted it for the mini figure of the girl in it. So I opened one of the damaged sets we had in the back and gave her the mini figure as a birthday present and she was so happy that she was in tears and hugged me as hard as she could.
  25. Lego is Still Cool

Oh man are we talking about LEGO? I worked at a LEGO store for a year and boy do I have some story's
