  1. Space Engineers

Is anyone playing this? It's early access on Steam and just came out today but I'm wondering whether or not I should buy in. My trepidation is due to the fact that these are the same guys that did Miner Wars 2081 which, from a cursory google search, had some... issues. http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/ That's the link for ya.
  2. The Witcher 2

Man, I really have to get back to finishing this game. I put at least 20 hours into it last October (holy shit, I just realised how long ago that is now) but hen I believe XCOM came along and it dropped off my daily cycle. It was weird though because I really started to enjoy it. The first 3 - 5 hours I was struggling with the combat encounters (and I was playing on easy) but then I started to realise that potions mattered and I can't go in swords swinging and expect to win.
  3. GTA V

Man, why does this have to come out the day after I start Uni?
  4. Recently completed video games

Ico, after just finishing Shadow of the Colossus. It's interesting to see the evolution of the mechanics for traversal from Ico to SotC, and I adore how companionship is a theme that is carried through both games, and done very well.
  5. Oh no, the youtube video description has a link to the kickstarter page, and evidently the game was not funded. Damn shame, because it looks like a lot of fun. I hope he found some other way to fund it.
  6. Man, this game has come along very nicely, it looks fantastic. And sweet jesus, that cover is glorious.
  7. I NEED to see that lobby photo, so that I can prepare appropriately.
  8. Half-Life 3

Ah, forgive me, I was trying to make a dumb joke. Some thing about half-lives... didn't really work out.
  9. Amnesia: The Dark Descent

It's been two months since I've installed this game. I've played it for a total of 2 hours. (I also mean that in the best possible way.)
  10. Assassin's Creed: Buccaneer

Yeah, it's little details like the static ropes on the ship during a storm that just take me out of it slightly. I do like how seamless the world appears to be, the load-free transition from boat to sea to land is quite cool.
  11. R.I.P. Ryan Davis

This is horrible, goddamn. And just married too, that's so fucked.
  12. There were a few references to characters and events from season 1. When playing Shel's story, they mention Vernon and the boat when they're deciding what to do with the blindfolded captive that tried to steal from Roman's group. The old lady, and the two other black guys are from the cancer survivor group in season 1. A slightly more morbid call back to the first season happens near the beginning of Russel's story. If you choose to hide on the side of the road, you end up face to face with the corpse of Carley/Doug depending on who you saved in the first season. That broke my heart. I really enjoyed this episode overall though, and I'd be happy to see these characters explored further in the second season.
  13. ARMA 3

Has anyone tried this mode in the new Beta? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bma6mWYsfDE#at=29 I seem to recall that mode being in ARMA 2 as well, I can't remember. Either way this looks pretty cool, I might try it out.
  14. Oh shit, that's tomorrow (on PC). Well, I'm off to the supermarket to buy boxes and boxes of kleenex.
  15. Half-Life 3

Is it out yet? I think it's been a whole lifetime since I last heard any official news about this game.
  16. Quality Obama imitation by Chris, can't stop laughing.
  17. Metro: Last Light

Gosh, this game is so pleasant to look at.
  18. GTA V

Dear God, I want this so bad.
  19. Monaco

Played the first couple of missions yesterday, it's fun but it seems like it would be more fun playing with other people. Also, I am in love with the music, it's absolutely fantastic.
  20. Hitman: Absolution

Yeah, I enjoyed this game overall, it was quite long and whenever they opened up the map for more free form exploration it really shined for me. Especially because, mechanically speaking, it was a solid improvement over blood money, aside from the whole disguise quirks that many complained about, which I seem to remember was later fixed. One thing that really irritated me though, was the constant feedback of your mission score in the top left hand corner of the screen. That nearly ruined the game for me altogether. I felt constantly pressured to improve my performance, and would restart at even the tiniest mistake. It was tiresome, and frustrating, replaying the same section over and over again (especially when that section was a small, linear one).
  21. Oculus rift

I want to be able to do this: Also, I think somebody with more technical expertise should find a way to combine the rift with this:https://www.leapmotion.com/
  22. Just Cause 2

YES, time to re-install this game. Nothing like some good ol' chaos on a Saturday morning.
  23. Kerbal Space Program

I launched Kerbal Space Program yesterday for the first time yesterday while listening to the latest radiolab episode:http://www.radiolab.org/blogs/radiolab-blog/2013/apr/16/distance-of-moon/ It was wholly appropriate.I finally made it into orbit after about 30 minutes of failures, and when I did, it was wonderful.
  24. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

My favourite part of playing Far Cry 3 was taking over bases, and I've been hearing this is basically that, which I am totally cool with. I'm not really enticed, or put off for that matter, by the setting and aesthetic that they're going for. It's goofy, dumb and colourful and that at least is a little different from a lot of games I've been playing recently.
  25. The Last of Us

I love these development videos. It's always fascinating to me to have a peak at the developer's process. Also, I'm incredibly excited for this game.
