I found a decent shared calendar thing and got a preliminary one set up from my phone. Can someone else try the link and see if you can add an event on Friday and Saturday for your available start time this weekend? Let me know if you run into any issues. http://teamup.com/ksab7bace4e91c1f8a/

Is there not any option to see status of clan members on the roster page and set up fireteams with clan members within the game or is that limited solely to people on your friends list? Does anyone have the know-how to set up a shared document with schedule slots over the next several weekends where we can enter our availability? I remember someone did something like that for another thing on these forums and it seems like the best way to get an idea of exactly who is available and when. Either that or we could try a voting thread with various options but that sounds like it would be a mess to navigate.

It looks like we have 9 people that have responded in this thread saying they are interested in raiding. I also have a friend that would be interested in joining us which would bring it to 10. If we really want to make something happen I think we need to look at the next several weeks and identify some solid time slots across each of the coming weekends to find out where we have an overlap big enough where 6 people can all get together at the same time. For instance, next weekend the earliest I can get on either day is probably 8PM my time whereas the following weekend I could probably get on as early as 11am or noon which would probably line up a lot better with some of you guys that are 7 hours ahead. And maybe we end up with enough overlap each weekend that we could run a raid once each week with a different lineup of people each week depending on who's available. I don't know about you guys but even after the next expansion comes out, I'd still be totally interested in trying to do these raid thingies. Thoughts?

I was trying to add various people to my friend's list for this upcoming Destiny raid thing we are trying to do and the networking threads we have are such a pain to navigate through to find people. So I'm bumping this thread as I think it is by far the most useful way for us to easily share and find various gamer tags and network IDs.

Yeah, probably around 8pm Arizona time on either Friday or Saturday is the earliest I can get on.

I'll probably be on within the next hour or so just doing bounties and strikes. If anyone is playing and wants to party up feel free to shoot me an invite. PS4: xXZeusthecatXx

For me, it was the buzzing of cicadas during the summer season in Harvest Moon 64 that built that association for me and ever since playing that game in high school, I get super nostalgic whenever I hear it. That was one of my favorite things about Steins;Gate. The constant buzzing of cicadas throughout the series had a very nice calming effect that was such a nice complement to everything else that was going on.

I finished Stacking. I absolutely loved this game and everything about it. The music and silent movie aesthetic made for an absolutely delightful experience and I felt that the puzzles were varied and smartly done. I can't really think of anything bad to say about the game except that maybe I would have preferred for some of those puzzles to not have quite so many solutions because it kind of reached a point where after I found a few solutions, I didn't really have the desire to keep at it and just used a guide to get whichever ones I was missing. I'll probably put a bit more time in tonight to finish getting 100% in the Hobo King Adventure and then it's on to Costume Quest.

Haha, I think I got a little too fired up there and gave the impression that I don't like the show. It's quite the opposite actually. There's too much awesome stuff that it's doing for me to drop it because of this one aspect I'm not too fond of. I'm definitely going to finish it and it will probably end up near the top of my list of favorites despite my frustration with the pervy aspects.

I think those are all fair counter-points to my criticisms. I guess it comes back to what seems to get discussed a lot on these forums: authorial intent versus audience interpretation. From my point of view, it's kind of hard to swallow all of these potentially problematic elements as not problematic unless you're well versed in what they are subverting. Maybe all of this is painfully obvious to Japanese viewers and it is progressive as hell, in which case I guess my interpretation isn't fair since I'm going in completely uninformed. There's a weird disconnect I have with feminism where on the one hand, it seems like people are quick to condemn a piece of work like The Avengers because of one or two perceived missteps in Black Widow's character arc (where I see her character as one of the more progressive representations of women in media). Then on the other hand you have a show like this that people claim is progressive and sex positive even though it is rife with what I see as a bunch of really problematic stuff. It's just hard to reconcile these two viewpoints (and I recognize it isn't necessarily the same people praising one work and condemning the other). Also CLWheeljack, I don't mean to imply that you are necessarily making these claims and I recognize you are just presenting a different interpretation that others may have. And one other key thing that makes it really hard for me to buy the whole "sex positive" angle of this show:

I do see some of what you're talking about. The sexualization by itself isn't necessarily what bothers me. And I think it's great that literally all of the strongest characters, hero and villain, are all female. I just don't know what to make of the message it seems to be sending that "to be powerful and badass, you have to look as sexy as possible". To me, it feels like there are quite a few missteps that make this show feel less like it is being subversive and more like it is just being pervy. Although I recognize that I still don't have a lot of exposure to anime so maybe the things I am griping about have some element on a deeper level that I am missing.

Also, Idle Thumbs 21 - The Hypersonic Effect I'm pretty sure I failed hard just now.

I think I managed to get through the kitty hat puzzle but it was definitely on the more difficult side. For me, I'm pretty sure the area I ended up needing to use hints was in the forest with that damn, tree/wheelbarrow/pipes puzzle.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

I finished Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Second Gig (Jesus that's a mouthful). I liked it way better than season 1 and I feel like most of my complaints were addressed. I still find it a bit hard to follow with the heavy amount of dialog but the universe was compelling enough that I went ahead and read descriptions of each episode after I watched them to make sure I absorbed any key plot elements that got lost in dialog. Then I went ahead and watched Ghost in the Shell (the original movie). Honestly, I thought it was pretty terrible and very anticlimactic. The story never seemed to go anywhere and just when I thought it might finally start to get interesting, it was over. Such a disappointment but still glad I watched it as the world of GITS is incredibly interesting and I welcome any additional exposure to that universe. I also started Kill la Kill and am most of the way through. Man, I'm torn on this one. So much of what this show does resonates perfectly with me. The overall tone of the show is great, the action is great, the music is great, and there are some very interesting characters. It seems to combine a lot of what I liked about Attack on Titan and Space Dandy and I'm always excited for the next episode. On the other hand, the perviness is almost unbearable. And it's so goddamn prevalent too. I'm constantly being pulled out of the experience by some unnecessary panty shot or some child molester-y type character ogling young girls. It's fucking gross and bad enough that I would be really embarrassed if my wife walked in while I was watching the show. And the worst part of all of it Am I missing some greater message here and does this stuff serve any kind of real purpose to the story or is it just there because?

I finished Far Cry 2. I really enjoyed the experience overall and the combat encounters never failed to get my heart racing. However, near the end of the game it did start to get a bit repetitive and the enjoyment of the encounters started to turn into frustration. Especially when groups of enemies frequently included a dude with a rocket launcher. Also, the story and mission structure was pretty damn bland through most of the game so when the excitement of the combat encounters started to wane, there wasn't really much left to keep my interest. Luckily it all ended right around the time I felt like I was ready to be done with the game so I ended up feeling like I had a pretty good time with it overall.

Yes, I'm on PS4. And I don't quite have the last two slots on my primary weapon upgraded because I am still trying to get all the ascendant energy to do so. I think each of the last upgrades take 6 ascendant energy each and I'm finding it really hard to come by.

I have been playing this quite a lot lately and would love to join you guys if possible since there's no chance in hell I'd be able to get a group of 6 people together otherwise. Is level 27 high enough to do Vault of Glass or would I need to be a bit higher than that?

So why couldn't he like, use his force powers to direct his fall and land softly somewhere. Don't Jedi do that shit all the time? All Palpatine really did was shock him a bit and toss him out the window. It's almost like Jedi derive all of their powers from their arms. Every time a Jedi loses an arm, they become completely useless and just collapse or jump off a ledge. Palpatine didn't kill Mace Windu, he was dead the second Anakin sliced his arm off. And I bet the force awakens in this movie because someone finds Sam Jackson's severed arm still brimming with force power.

Honestly, it doesn't look as bad as you would expect scaled up on a 58" screen. And you can't tell in the picture but there are some thin black vertical bars on either side so it's not quite a full 16:9. I'm so used to it now I can't tell if it's actually stretching it or not.

Just got home from work and was very proud to see this.

So this year is kind of a weird one for that holiday thingy taking place today. My wife actually has a card now and is going down to the place where she gets the stuff and they have some super good deals on some good shit plus some freebies. Tonight will be a fun one!

Honestly, I think this is the one reason that actually makes sense to me. The whole ecosystem angle is definitely an important factor for me so I could understand purchasing one for that reason if that is the ecosystem you've bought into. I guess I haven't met any of these people that care about how much a thing like that weighs so it just seems weird to me. The Windows laptop I have for work is super thin and light and I can't imagine needing something even thinner and lighter. And I really think the latest Macbook is taking it a little to the extreme with this. It's just diminishing returns at this point and now it looks like the keyboard is suffering as a result. And yeah, the one I linked has a shitty hard drive. But there are plenty out there that are solid state.

If science had advanced to the point where people are warping all over the galaxy, couldn't they have figured out how to extend the human lifespan to match that of a wookie's?

It did. Now I'm pissed and this trailer is horseshit. If they can't even age Chewbacca properly I'm now dreading to see all the other shit they fuck up. Like that sith? Probably Jar Jar Binks.
