I just hit single digits on my Steam backlog. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I get crazy cave man rage whenever I hear really loud noises. People driving around in cars or motorcycles with excessively loud engines triggers it worse than anything. Like why the fuck would you purposely want to drive a vehicle that is bound to eventually make you and anyone who rides with you deaf? I guess it's because loud noises are badass and manly? Seriously though, fuck loud noises.

Nah, it's cool. I also do all my messaging through the app. Nothing like being able to swype my replies instead of painfully going letter by letter.

Yooka-Laylee: Rare-viving the animal duo platformer that we've all yearned for.

This game looks pretty great. I like the colors. I like the character designs. I like collectibles. But mostly, I like the colors. They are so vibrant and happy looking and not grey and brown. I'm honestly having a hard time seeing what the problem is with these colors and how they are garish. Is it the vibrancy? -
I think it's also worth mentioning that the audio quality with PSN party chat is much better than the audio quality of in-game chat. I've noticed with multiple games that it's been really hard to hear people clearly through in-game chat and then it tends to cut out for several seconds during loading screens and whatnot.

In my case, I don't mind if people jump into my party while I'm playing. I'd actually kind of prefer being able to just communicate verbally whether or not I'm available to party up rather than having to respond to messages.

I had the unfortunate experience of watching a bit of Hot in Cleveland. What an absolutely terrible piece of shit show. None of it is funny, the whole premise seems to be about rich white women making fun of fat and poor people, and the whole thing just comes across as very mean spirited. I'm just shocked that there are actually multiple seasons of this show. Is it just because it has Betty White?

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Zeusthecat replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
That NPD report only covers the US correct? If so, I'd be curious to see global numbers for all this stuff. Definitely surprising though that even with Bloodborne releasing, XB1 still managed to outsell PS4. -
That's pretty cool stuff JonCole. I actually really like the way the story is done in this game. With all of the repetition week after week I kind of appreciate that I'm not getting blasted with heavy story stuff over and over. It's just a few sentences here and there from your robot pal to remind you that there is some shit going down for reasons and stuff. Plus there's a fair amount you can infer from the environments themselves. I need to read up some more on that Grimoire stuff. I read through a number of them and it seemed like there was a fairly interesting story under the surface but I'm still missing a lot of entries.

Since there will inevitably be lots of porn on the Oculus Rift after it releases, I wonder if anyone will do the whole "flightstick hand tracking" thing but with your junk instead of a flightstick. And if somebody does manage to make that work, I hope they go the extra mile and allow you to customize your junk. Maybe one day I want to experience having a 13" dong. Maybe the next day I want to see what it would be like to have a fully animated squirrel where my junk should be. I just really hope they fix the nausea issues before this stuff becomes a (virtual) reality.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
Zeusthecat replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
So I just saw this for the first time and it is possibly one of the greatest jokes I've ever heard. -
Seems like there was a pretty decent turnout of Thumbs throughout the weekend. I was on playing with a friend for a good portion of the weekend and also managed to get some HoW bounties and other dailies done with JonCole and CussedCayuse. It was fun! I updated the calendar with my availability for next weekend so I'm hopeful that we can manage to get six of us together this time. I have a friend that will most likely be available to join us as well so maybe that will help. One thing that kind of sucks if you aren't doing raids is the whole 3 person limit. I got a couple invites that I had to pass on because I was already in a full group. I felt bad.

I finished Costume Quest and its DLC. It was another very enjoyable Double Fine game and I liked it quite a lot. The Halloween setting and mix of trick-or-treating, fighting monsters, and collecting costumes was super fun. It all gelled really nicely and I never got tired of the battle system thanks to the infusion of QTE mechanics and the fact that it was a fairly short game. Also, my daughter absolutely loved watching me play and do the trick-or-treating segments.
-
Right now, me and Cussedcayuse are the only ones showing available around that time on the calendar. So not sure if we'll muster enough people for a raid. But I'll at least be on doing strikes and stuff.
-
I guess it was just easier for me to notice since my daughter was reading it out loud and pointing at each word as she was reading.
-
I'll be available to play tonight at the time I posted on the calendar if anyone's interested. So far it looks like I'm the only one available around that time but if anyone will be available who hasn't entered their availability on the calendar, let me know. I'd much prefer to team up over running with randoms.

Sorry, I thought the two glaring errors were obvious. And I wish her name was Perodactyl but every other mention in the book spells it correctly. What's really frustrating is that my daughter was reading the book to me and got stuck in both of those spots because the sentence didn't make sense and she didn't understand why the character's name had changed. This kind of stuff really pisses me off. When a book is only 12 pages and is using very simple language designed to help children learn to read, there is absolutely no excuse for this kind of thing.
-
This is from a children's 'learning to read' book my daughter brought home from school. The book is only twelve pages. How does something like that go to print? This kind of stuff really bothers the hell out of me.

Full map is unlocked from the start. Just have to get through a couple intro missions. elmuerte, I may be confusing it with the online portion but I thought when you bought a vehicle and parked it in one of your garages, it would always be available to you (or you can just call your mechanic to have it delivered to you). Also, if you want a firetruck I think you can dial 911 and one will show up near your location.
-
Yeah I know. It was meant to be an ironic rhetorical question. Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there who probably would call me ungrateful for not wanting to give back to the institution that, in its ultimate graciousness, allowed me the privilege of paying boatloads of money to work my ass off for years.
-
Me or them?

Something that really bothers me is that after spending 10's of thousands of dollars to get through college and finally graduate, there is this expectation that I will turn around and donate more money to the university. Fuck that. Tuition literally doubled as I went through college and in the end I was paying a few thousand dollars a semester. I still have another 5 years before all that student loan debt is paid off and yet I still regularly receive shit in the mail asking me to give them more money.
-
Since it will probably get buried fairly quickly in the other Destiny thread. I'm posting a link to the shared calendar we are using to schedule our availability for raiding/striking/whatever. JonCole, if you read this and think it will be useful for scheduling multiplayer events moving forward, feel free to update your original post to add this link. http://teamup.com/ksab7bace4e91c1f8a/#/

Okay, it should be fixed now. Try again and let me know if it still isn't adjusting. And yeah, it's basically just a shared calendar. I figure we all just post what times we're available to start each day and set a thing up for a time where six people are available. http://teamup.com/ksab7bace4e91c1f8a/
-
When I set it up it had me specify a time zone so I picked mine thinking it would automatically adjust for others. I'll get on my pc in a few and see if I can fix it.
