I think GOG might sell a DRM-free version that doesn't have the daily challenges.

I was imagining that the environment is a pre-made template house. Users would just take photos with their phones and then decide whether or not it is a trophy or a lampshade. Then it would just be placed as a prop in the home in some predetermined way. So for instance, lamps start populating tables. Trophies fill a specific shelf. Then the user could go in and move stuff around if they chose. I don't know why anyone would ever go into their "home" though. Some of the paintings in Mario 64 were relevant too

Gormongous is equating the non-arguments that hate is inexplicable and that attraction is inexplicable, not equating hate and attraction.

I can see why this would make you uncomfortable. I wouldn't say attraction is inexplicable as much as it's unexplained. As far as accountability goes, I have a hard enough time making myself and others accountable for their actions; the idea of being accountable for thoughts is horrifying. I wonder how the decision to get oneself worked up and angry by dwelling on something that makes them mad fits into this. At what point is it thought and at what point is it action?

I guess until we figure it out, we will just say shit and then hear the criticism of it and try not to take it personally while we refine our methods of communication.

I was thinking about something similar a few days ago. I was reading about the psychology of collecting souvenirs and memorabilia. One study seemed to imply that objects serve us as a form of external memory. I like the idea of having rooms full of objects that evoke involuntary memories. I just recently played Gone Home and so I had that on my mind. It makes me want a social-networking program that would allow me to snap pictures or make status updates, but then also choose the form they take. For instance, a picture could take the form of a painting on a wall, a book-cover on a shelf, or a page in a scrapbook on a coffee table. Then my [digital house] would populate with these items so that when I walk through it, I would experience involuntary memories and memory-chains. An example would be that I might be reminded of that week that I was obsessed with researching the caduceus and the rod of Asclepius when I accidentally knock an umbrella-stand over. Playstation Home and Second Life lack the convenience I'm imagining and a reason to revisit (so that I can bump into stuff that evokes memories).

I found one of the most esoteric things in the game the hard way. Unfortunately it was during my daily challenge.

I really enjoy these conversations. If there is one thing Korean-Dramas have taught me, it's that you don't get to choose who you are attracted to. If there is another thing they have taught me, it's that people are incapable of figuring out the actual cause of their attraction. I could see how any fetish is actually a post-hoc argument

The uncomfortable part for me is how bad my jokes are when I re-read them. I should be writing opening monologues for the Tonight Show. ba-dap-tshh! ( that last one is a closed high-hat if that was unclear)

Everything feels so poignant, like when the Key is presented as "Object" and the Chest is presented as "Passion".
-
This could be a teaching-moment if y'all were more specific about what makes it uncomfortable and why. Just saying that it's uncomfortable has the effect of making people too frightened to speak. Be specific so we can be more considerate and know how to do so.

Which parts are awkward:A) The implied fetish B ) The conflation of mandarin oranges and Mandarin Chinese C) The implied dichotomy between Mandarin and Cantonese? D) the implied hatred of Mandarin Chinese.
-
Do you love Cantonese?

IMO, personal experience is relevant to your review.

Arrow.

I did the same thing.

Nope. I'm not sure if I picked it up from someone else or if I just started using it after reading the word.

I just found out that "segue" and "segway" are two different words. This reminds me of when I found out tht "facade" and "facade" (pronounced "fa-kade") were the same word.

I found this article about Detroit's decline really interesting. I take it for granted that In Civ 5, I can instantly switch production post-war to science or wealth. I'm also fortunate that my population can't move to places which tax less. http://www.freep.com/article/20130915/NEWS01/130801004/Detroit-Bankruptcy-history-1950-debt-pension-revenue

I've also started to listen to the Diet Soap podcast. Those of you who can't listen to poor audio-quality shouldn't bother because it can get really bad sometimes. It's a pop-philosophy podcast and the host manages to strike chords with some frequency (3-8 times per podcast I'd estimate). Episode 189 about the debate between Chomsky and Zizek is particularly interesting. It starts out poorly with an indiscernable audio clip from Chomsky, but moves on to discuss the relevancy of non-empirical philosophy and the roles of Zizek and Chomsky in the Left.
