  1. Holy crap they actually mentioned the Idle Book Club!
  2. Sportsfriends!

This came out for PS3 and PS4 yesterday! I played a little with my roommate today and it's awesome!
  3. Agreed. I'm pretty sure we were all just teasing. (Although Sean's habit of turning verbs into nouns does annoy me).
  4. "Recommend" (as a noun) "Gross" "Best" "Worst"
  5. FTL

I don't think I've ever built a door system on the Shivan. 4 Rockmen are plenty for dealing with boarders and fires.
  6. FTL

The Shivan is good. I like it better than the Bulwark, because Heavy Pierce is a pretty sweet weapon that can carry you pretty far.
  7. Yeah, from what I've heard, Atari games had to be developed by a single person, because the hacks they used (tricking the system into displaying more than three objects by exploiting the raster beam's draw times) required such specific timing that having more people would completely screw it up.
  8. Antichamber

Alright, I'm stuck. There are a bunch of places where it looks like I can unlock doors, but I just don't seem to have the right tools. I've got blue block gun and I've seen the yellow one but I have no idea how to get to it. Any hints?
  9. Antichamber

I played this game for about an hour and a half today. I've made a fair bit of progress, but I'm pretty stuck right now. I'll go back to it later. I'm enjoying it, but it's kind of tough to figure out what to do in a lot of situations.
  10. A few things about Pikmin 3 multiplayer: first, you always want to play with the Victory Macaroon turned on; second, it's far more chaotic than Pikmin 2 multiplayer; third, some of the levels are garbage and some are really good. Let us know before you start streaming and I can give you some more tips to smooth out the experience.
  11. Ah, I didn't realize that. In any case, still not Ubi Montreal.
  12. Decks of Thumbs

That's a good point about Reclamation Order, I hadn't thought of that. Eli works alright. He's not perfect, but he is expensive to get through. My entire ice setup is going to change once Honor & Profit comes, so I'm happy sticking with this for now. Way back around the Plugged-In tour I had Hourglass in my RP deck, but it just didn't work very well. Too expensive for what it did, too easy for the Runner to ignore and too easy to get through with Yog. I found that Viktor 2.0 was a lot more effective, but I eventually switched him for Tollbooth. Urobourous is something I've always wanted to try but never have. I don't like Grim in this deck though: Bad Pub is incredibly damaging with all the runs the Runner ends up making and all the trashable cards I have. Plus, as you mentioned, BP is terrible for NAPD Contract. As for the Whizzard deck, I used to have a couple Djinns in there, but I never ended up using them. I may add them back in. I don't often have a full rig installed though. It's usually a couple breakers, a sucker and either Medium or Hemmorhage. It just depends what order the cards come in.
  13. Terminal7 12: Seventeen Random Accesses

Awesome cast guys! I really enjoyed James' perspective on things. You should try to have him on more often. Not that the two of you aren't great, but having varied perspectives is always awesome.
  14. Decks of Thumbs

Nice decks Nels! Couple suggestions/questions: have you thought about NAPD Contract instead of Braintrust in the Jinteki deck? Sure, it's tougher to bluff with, but I imagine it's a lot easier to hit someone with a Counterstrike when they are down 4 credits. Plus, having over half of your Agendas hurt the Runner is pretty sweet. Reclamation Order instead of Archived Memories might also be interesting. In the Exile deck, how do you survive without Sacrificial Construct? I'm terrified of playing Scheherazade without it. Also, ditching the Siphon to put in a couple Hostages in order to get Inside Man and Aesops out faster might be a good idea. A maybe a Same Old Thing in case you lose or Levy to damage. Here are my decks: Jinteki: Replicating Perfection Basically, the idea is to set up Sundews, PADs and Encryption Protocols to feed my economy, build an expensive server and irritate the Runner with Caprice and Hokusai. I've been tweaking this deck ever since Mala Tempora and will likely continue to do so once Honor & Profit comes out. The thing that's always tough is the Ice distribution. I can never settle on it. Whizzard: Master Gamer The idea here is to get Desperado, Datasucker and Masanori set up, get a cheap server to hit and then run, run, run. That feeds into either HQ control with Hemmorhage, or blasting through R&D with Medium. I'm not certain how effective this deck is, but it is so much fun to play that I don't care. This deck also works with Reina, but she has a bit of dissynergy with Masanori, since he discourages her from running unrezzed ice, which weakens her ability in the early game. Plus, I see a lot of HB and NBN in Toronto, so the Whizzard credits are nice.
  15. FTL

I still haven't unlocked the Slug Cruiser for some reason. I don't remember how to do it.
  16. In Search of Lost Time is the Mega Man 9 of serialized French novels.
  17. FTL

If you wanted the crew to be able to attack the drone, you could just have it teleport inside the room like a bomb.
  18. FTL

I can see this, although I don't really know how you would fix it. The thing about hacking is that it's so much fun and so interesting. How would you change it while still keeping its appeal?
  19. Was anyone else annoyed that Chris kept saying that Hitman GO was deveoped by Ubisoft Montreal when it was actually developed by Eidos Montreal, but still got Eidos Montreal as the correct developer for Deus Ex: The Fall. Also, it's listed as "FTL: Ultimate Edition" in the games discussed, but it's actually "FTL: Advanced Edition." Anyway, that's my dumb grumbling. Great episode guys!
  20. FTL

Yeah, I think the Anti-Combat Drone is the only thing I wish they hadn't added.
  21. FTL

Yeah, upgrading a Cloning Bay is pretty essential for not losing crew in the queue. You're wrong about mistakenly leaving it without power though: crew will get cloned from random when they die from random events whether or not the Cloning Bay has power. There are two exceptions to this rule: if it's the Deal With Disease event, the crew member won't get cloned because the clone would still be diseased; if it's the Engi Virus event and you take the blue Engi crew member option, Also, I want those crystal ships so badly.

Just won a game on Normal with the Tektite, my first win since the Advanced Edition came out. My loadout was: fully upgraded Engines, 3 Shields, full Mind Control, Defense Drone II, Boarding Drone, full Backup Battery, a nearly full crew and a full weapon loadout of Burst Laser II, Charge Laser, Heavy Crystal 1 and Swarm Missiles. The Defense Drone was key: protected me against so many missiles, lasers and drones. The Mind Control was also useful, even when I was just using it to combat enemy mind control. Also, having that many weapons is great. The Tektites starting weapons are really awesome, I loved both of them. I also was full up on Augments: Scrap Recovery Arm, Drone Recovery Arm and Rock Plating. Still, it was a close fight: I only had 2 hull left at the end of it and there was a point in the third fight where my weapons were completely dead and most of my ship was on fire, but the Cloning Bay, plus the fact that there was only one enemy crew left, meant I was able to pull out of the nosedive. Cloning Bay is so good. Med Bay still has its uses, but I think the Cloning Bay is better in most circumstances. It saved my ass against Lanius boarders in the Abandoned Sector. However, even with that awesome run, I'm annoyed because the whole point of me playing with the Tektite was to find the Hidden Sector and get the Crystal Ship. But the Rock Homeworlds never spawned. However, I did get the Stasis Pod event twice, which was hilarious. That was pretty sweet actually, because it allowed me to get some free weapons, since there was no reason for me to take the pod.
  23. Dishonesty in Storytelling

But once again, that's not how it works in Dragon Age. Mages can cast fireballs whether or not they believe in the Chant. Gormongous: I guess that depends on how you define "supernatural." Magic and the Fade in Dragon Age are taken to be part of the natural world. They are wierd and do crazy stuff, but they are observable and measurable. Similarly, quantum physics is weird and hard to understand, but you wouldn't say it's supernatural.

I think we're in agreement here.
