  1. Came here to see the interest here for GTA Online and loved your "after action report" on the bounty.

I just pre-ordered the PS4 version and will import by barely used 360 character.

My buddy and I still play when we can but it's died down some now that I've surpassed level 100 and dumped almost 200 hours into the multiplayer. Feel free to add me anyways. My game time has been a bit more limited lately but I'm open to setting something up if schedules align.

Also, is anyone planning on buying the PS4 version of this game when it comes out later this year? I get the sense that a lot of people around here may have been holding off on getting it until the PS4/XBONE/PC version of the game came out. Personally, I've really enjoyed this game and plan to purchase it again on PS4 so I can finally play it with a few other friends that decided to wait for the "next gen" version.

  2. To partially answer the question asked about how much of the show's central plot was pre-written (huge spoilers, obviously)

"In the beginning," as Lynch noted during a talk he gave in Seattle a number of years back, "there wasn't any BOB." While shooting the pilot in an Everett, Wash., home that would be used for the Palmer residence on the show, a member of the crew joked to Silva, the set dresser, that he needed to make sure he didn't trap himself in Laura Palmer's room in the process of setting up for a scene. When Lynch heard the comment, it triggered something. "In my mind," Lynch continued, "I see Frank locked in that room. And I went rushing in to Frank, not knowing why I rushed in, really." He asked Silva if he was an actor, to which Silva answered in the affirmative. "So I said, 'Frank, I think you're going to be in this scene.'"

I kind of disagree with the notion that Twin Peaks is about modernity coming in and corrupting a sleepy, working class town. I thought the show was a statement on how that darkness was always present. This becomes more apparent when the more mystical parts of the show start dominating the plot.

The Black Lodge, BOB, the repeated comments about how there has always been evil in the woods around Twin Peaks, etc

. That makes Cooper this tragically naive character, because he is so easily charmed by what seems like an idyllic town and he lets it get the best of him.

Really good first episode, excited for more!

I think this quote should be taken with context and with other interviews that Lynch and Frost have done.

While the specific character of BOB came out of happenstance, both Lynch and Frost have stated that there was always a dark supernatural element to the killer, how exactly it would have manifested was maybe not so clear at the beginning.

  3. God that actor who plays James is just terrible at his job. I think his shitty acting ability is what ultimately made me quit the series Season 2 after finding out about the killer. Whiny fucking caveman looking expressionless jock on a motorcycle.

Terrible at his job or following direction? I forget exactly where I read or heard this but I believe much of the cast was directed to evoke soap opera stereotypes, "bad acting" and all. Overly dramatic, soap opera jock is exactly his role and I think he plays it out just as intended.
