I was excited to see the video and watched the first 2 minutes and had an entire type of puzzle i didn't even realize existed spoiled. I'd seen weird allusions to those types of puzzles but never put 2 and 2 together. It's like the translation monolith next to the fox and dog in Fez. So close but I don't know if I'd have ever made that last step, but I feel cheated since now I'll never know.

So far I'm loving V. It has a deliberate pace that I'm finding I can actually follow. For the first time ever, when I lose to randos online I feel like I know what went wrong. Also discovered the ps4 version supports PS3 FightSticks so they saved me a whole lotta money. Fite me as IStillSurf (that's PSN and Fighter ID)

I was 100% sure that bee was going to be important. Discovering the body wrecked me in a way that I haven't been wrecked in a game before. The pictures in the credits had me welling up. I also had made peace with Henry / my decision to put Jules in the care home way before Henry did. My dad went through a similar ordeal with his mom (my Nana) and it's this horrible experience of watching someone you love disappear into a total stranger that just utterly grinds you down to nothing. You do what's best for them as best you can, but romantic notions of perseverance evaporate after the few couple of years. It's something you can't understand without living it. I hate that movie The Notebook.

Hunter: A Chronicles of Darkness Game of Thumbs

I'm ploughing through the first 3 chapters. I forgot how much lore was in these books. I find (W/C)oD games thrive on what basically amounts to court intrigue; players leveraging contacts and investigating weird happenings in an effort to advance their way through the social hierarchy of their given secret society. Lots of Crusader Kings, Game of Thrones stuff. Something that touches on this is Sandboxes and the Roguish Work Ethic, where the players pursue their own goals and interests more than react to plot points (but then plot points happen as a result of their work ethic that requires reacting too). -
I'm going to be playing w/ a 360 MadCatz Pro Controller 'cause I'm a baller.

The Lore of WoD games usually consist of "this is the crazy thing in the world, this is what happens when a normal person discovers it, and this is how the world changes after". typically starting with a normal person and working forward works. alternately, think of a character in a movie and work backwards. I think a lot of the game is designed anticipating this method in mind. I'm fairly certain there is a specific Skill (or Merit?) for "Catching things thrown at you" so you can make Jack Burton. -
