Weird. Crossy Road is only on the Amazon App Store.

Does valve need to approve a listing? Can devs just resubmit if rejected?

Has anyone done the math to figure out how much valve stands to gain by the end of this? I'm pretty sure it's in the millions. They figured out how to make millions getting other people to clean up their gamified market of fake cards. Fuck.

I can totally understand why people would "hate" Dan Savage for advising his readers to be tolerant and respectful of other people's gender identities and desired pronouns even if they don't understand them.

Between this and the dubstep Sparrow thing, Destiny has literally killed irony. That video is like only it isn't a joke.

Or you just swipe right on all those soldiers and just feed them into the grinder. Just like Tinder. Disclaimer: I don't use Tinder and haven't dated since 2001.

Baby Game of the Year (ie: games my son loves to watch me play): Spelunky - I got back into it in a serious way when it came up on PS+. The Daily Challenge is a boon; a self contained, more or less timeboxed bit of video game experience I can look forward too every day (and hang my head in shame when I fall on some spikes in 1-2). Runners Up: Ultra Street Fighter IV - still my favourite fighting game by a WIDE margin. And, for some reason, my kid LOVES it. Like, he literally never gets bored of it. And gets angry when it isn't on the screen. There is no 2nd runner up. All other games are anathema to my son Train Game of the Year (ie: games I play on the train) Monument Valley - Gorgeous and entrancing. Playing a level is like working through a moderately Sedoku puzzle: it isn't trivial, but you won't get frustrated. Runners Up: Shovel Knight - Does exactly what it sets out to do and does it well; recaptures what you remember good Capcom NES games were like. Desert Golfing - fart noise baboo (but it really is fun). Old Game of the Year Dark Souls - I'm the most original guy in the world! Hey you guys, have you ever heard of DARK SOULS!!?! But, for real, this is probably the best game in the last 10 years. Questionable Game of the Year Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes - While this game did some really gross things and while it is a premium demo and while you can "finish" it in 20 minutes, it still did something I didn't expect: made be genuinely pre-MGS2 levels of excited for an upcoming Metal Gear game. And I LIKED Metal Gear Solid 2 for the record, so that's no some kind of ironic joke. Game that Doesn't Belong in its Own Category and I Just Liked and Also Actually Came Out This Year of the Year Destiny - I'm honestly confused by the hate this game gets. Why were people expecting some magnum opus narrative experience? Have people played Bungie games before? The gameplay solid. More or less flawless. It serves a very similar role in my library as Spelunky: a game that serves up a nice chunk of gameplay every day. I also love that a game with progression also does not cut you off from content you've already played. My biggest issues with games like Diablo or Borderlands is that a single session played without your friends completely destroys the balance, and if you play together, the game just becomes trivial for them and a waste of time for you. In Destiny, you can be 20 levels apart and the high level player can jump in with their lowbie friend and still have a good time. Runner Up: Dark Souls 2 - while the lesser of the series, it is still a phenomenal game which gripped me from start to finish.

Brad reminds me too much of myself when I'm trying to keep up in a conversation with people who are funnier and sharper than I am. He's also way too self deprecating when he's talking about the things he likes (ie dota/esports). He has an area of expertise he can share, just friggin own it man. Word. Listen to her on the Isometric Podcast!

The only time Dan really gets on my nerves is when he starts offering platitudes about "hard work" and "not giving up". Like, dude, you've put in as much work as 99% of people who have failed trying to do the exact same thing. LESS than many. You've been blessed with good fortune (as well as several social legs up), so show just the tiniest bit of humility and gratitude. Especially in light of the shitstorm that surrounded his hiring, and the (frankly better) writers who dropped out as a result. He hasn't really gone off in this direction in a while though. I wonder if Jeff (who seems allergic to ever taking a stand in anything more controversial than the quality of Yoshi's Island) has told him to cool it on the earnest life advice stuff to avoid getting into it with twitter again. As a cartoon character, he plays off of Drew wonderfully and brings back a lot of the fun that drained out as a result of Ryan Davis' untimely passing (RIP) and Vinny's move east.

I'm willing to bet that the Millennium Falcon shot is the tail end of a much longer continuous sequence that follows the ship "up" towards the planet and through atmospheric entry. In which case, the ground would already be established in the audience's mind as coming in from the top of the screen, probably making the shot a hell of a lot more readable.
