Concurred. What I'm finding wonderful is that, beyond the actual RPG parts which are streamlined/complex and how beautiful it is, there is never wasted time if you're not playing. My 3DS is currently in sleep mode in my bag and I'm building up SP and my village is getting upgraded. It feels such a realised game.

Agreed with everyone that this was a fantastic idea, fantastically executed.

I'd only played Pikmin 1 up until the very last mission and don\t really remember much about it but I adored Pikmin 3 in just about every way possible. It wasn't overly taxing but it was one of the most satisfying things I've played in ages. Eurogamer once described A World Of Keflings as "a thick winter warmer of a game, served with a toasted crusty roll" and I think that definitely applies to Pikmin 3. My elder brother just bought both a Wii U and a Vita in the space of a fortnight after I repeatedly said how much fun I was having with both of them. Talk about rats joining sinking ships!

I'm 25 hours in and maybe 2/3 through. The mechanics and writing are still enjoyable but I do feel it's a little long. Also the minigames are brutal to achieve S ranks in.

I originally only included the first two moves as an "e.g." but then I saw it would only take two more to complete it so indulged myself.

I don't have a touch screen.

I'm a little annoyed with such a close release date because I've been planning to build a new PC and christen it with Gone Ghost Game but I'm also travelling at the end of the month and didn't want to build it until afterwards. This is coming right between all of these events! Thanks a bunch, Steve. Also I will buy and play your video game on release on my existing computer.

The solution wasn't to move them to an empty space but to move stacks between each other and keep removing cards until you reach the covered cards. Spoilers: 5 Spades > 6 Hearts, remove 6 Diamonds, 6 Hearts > 7 Spades, remove 7 Clubs, 7 Spades > 8 Hearts, remove 8 Diamonds, 8 Hearts > 9 Clubs, REVEAL YOUR PRIZE. Sick Solitaire stratz.

I hope Nick can bear to rewatch it for some Solitaire strats. He had outs in pretty much every game he restarted, especially the last one. That was practically nailed on. Also this is true. I just wanted to pat him on the back and say "it's going to be alright".

Devastated that there wasn't "no glove for Dad" after Sean's story.

Like flaming globes, Sigmund! !

If they made it so you could buy a toy Waluigi and that would unlock him as a playable character in Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Smash Bros., etc. I think then I may sell my soul to Nintendo. Not a day before.

The argument itself might not be unique but that someone is attempting a critical dialog around the issue in games is a pretty neat thing. Like, what's the normal topic that gets discussed? "I can't believe this only got a 7!" It's a start. It might not be a perfect one and I have issues with the presentation but if it means people start thinking about the topics and themes of games a bit more, then it's more than worthwhile. Shawn Elliott says it better than I could.

I'm going to build a fort out of all the deluxe boxes I've pre-bought on Kickstarter.

With the limited amount of StreetPasses I get, I treasure each and every one of them. The thrill of that little green light when I take my 3DS out of my bag is still there.
-
I'm glad that the 3D has now been relegated to "subtle effect to promote roominess". It's not worth making a console around but it definitely adds to the game when used right and the most recent set of games have sure used it right.

Games? The fun of sharing a play experience is, in my mind, being in the same physical space. If I get home and turn on my PS4, I may as well play one of my own games rather than remotely watch someone else play. Otherwise, why not just watch it on a PC on Twitch or whatever? It's a cool thing but not a $400 cool thing.

They're also the least interesting thing to base a console on.

I lost my copy of Superstar Saga (along with the GBA Castlevania games) so I can't join in the Great > Poor > Good cycle of Mario & Luigi opinions. This really was a highlight of the Nintendo Direct.

I know prototypes almost never tally with the final retail design. Nevertheless, that's pretty gross.

Aliens proves that something badass and shallow is still badass.

At this rate I'll probably max out everyone's levels before I tame a Green Buncher for an errand. EDIT: Huh. I tamed the next one I fought after posting!

It's not objectively ugly but the Ghibli stuff just illustrates how far graphics still could go in games. To be able to play something with that quality of animation would be unreal.

Who'd have thought in PlayStation era that a Rayman game would be the straw that broke the camel's back when it came to people buying a Nintendo console. What a world we live in. I want to get off. Super bummed about it being delayed until September. I loved the demo and was looking forward to getting it next month. Oh well.

So delighted when I got my second familiar and it still received experience when not used in battle. I had horrific visions of Pokemon-esque tactics of starting with a badly-matched and weak familiar just to level it up. The Ghibli cutscenes are making me wish they'll produce a Ghibli film of this. I think my housemate would love it but there's no way she'll watch me play 40 hours of a RPG.
