  1. General Video Game Deals Thread

I bought it for my wife.
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

Another Steam sale going on. I'm not sure if I'm in a different mood or what, but I'm seeing a lot of stuff on the list this time that I really want.
  3. I kind of want to get this, but I don't want to play it on a 3DS, I wish these things would just come out on things with bigger screens.
  4. Idle Thumbs Streams

Given how much fun it's been to watch the Wizard Jam streams, it would be really cool if you'd stream some things from "A Good Bundle" and try to get some extra attention for the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. https://itch.io/b/149/a-good-bundle
  5. The Big VR Thread

That sounds more like what I was hoping for from Tiltbrush.
  6. The Big VR Thread

That sounds cool. I can't wait until Oculus touch and my end of year bonus.
  7. I really really like 3v3 elimination.
  8. TITANFLAPS 2

After being excited for this for so long and really enjoying the campaign, I've played precisely one multi-player game. I'm not sure why.
  9. Idle Thumbs Streams

i would be more interested in Kerbal than Dark Souls 3, but I'd be happy either way. FYI, Klepek was not a fan of the new DS3 DLC. https://waypoint.vice.com/en_us/article/the-first-dark-souls-iii-dlc-is-dark-souls-at-its-worst-boring
  10. That Dungeon World section and the Sherlock Holmes board game were the best two bits of the stream i saw at least. Well worth checking out.
  11. I'm a bit sad that Chris didn't enjoy the stompy mech parts of the Titanfall campaign. I thought they did a good job of switching between on-foot and Titan segments often enough to make neither feel boring, and pretty much each time you're in a Titan you get to try out a different load out, some of which are quite unique. In particular, I really enjoyed that huge Titan fight that Chris had just made it through. I guess the beauty of Titanfall is that it can be different things to different people.
  12. For me, one of the FE's mobilized and created a federation that 2/3rds of the galaxy joined. Even so, when I was fielding ships I didn't see that many other fleets out there. This was my pacifist run, so I was crammed pretty tightly into one corner of the galaxy, but I still managed to defeat it eventually by sending 50k fleets to nibble at single 100k fleets until I was able to feint and get in to the portal. It was a grind, but I did it, and that's when I decided I was good on Stellaris for a while.
  13. Life

Starting my third week under the influence of Lexipro. I had a lot of ups and downs at first, but things have mostly stabilized and I'm feeling pretty good.
  14. Yeah, the improved diplomacy system has helped things somewhat, but the mid game is still pretty dull unless you want to wage war all the time. I get the feeling that a lot of the mid game difficulties are supposed to revolve around ethics divergance. There are even events like the genetic enhancement and AI chains that are supposed to diversify your empire and make it fall apart internally, but the only time I ever find it getting extreme enough to cause a real problem is when I'm conquering a bunch of alien populations. Peaceful empires have nothing to do.
  15. Bioware-esque RPG

I was craving the same sort of game last night, and ended up finishing The Witcher 2, as well as installing Baldur's Gate Enhanced. I have yet to play Baldur's gate, but maybe it fits the bill?
  16. Recently completed video games

I finally, after two years-ish, beat the Witcher 2. So much good there, with so much mechanical BS layered on top. My ending was absolutely horrible, but I suppose they're all bad endings in their own way. I'm looking forward to the next steam sale so I can pick up Witcher 3.
  17. Performance is still kinda lousy on my PC, so I haven't been playing much recently. I'll definitely join the club though, I'm planning on playing through Mass Effect again so I'll be on my console more.
  18. There were apparently 26 Battle Tech Centers all over the world. I always wish I had gone to one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech_Centers
  19. The Next President

Also, I wonder what happened with this?
  20. The Next President

Perhaps low turnout was overconfidence on the part of Democratic voters across the country, thinking that the race was won? Maybe the narrative that the race was still close that we were all complaining about a few pages back was both correct, and maybe could have done some good if it was emphasized even more?
  21. The Next President

At least the stock market reversed its drop.
  22. Part 3 is up on Vice https://video.vice.com/en_us/video/72-games-in-72-hours-waypoint72-part-3/581d0b1c5530a0874ff03396 And it looks like they're up to part 6 on Youtube (which is for the best, since the Vice video app is meh) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWu9QuHF-dcakBmhullIH6w
  23. The Next President

Given that so much of what he said during the election were out-and-out lies, I guess we have hope that he never intended to enact any of his silly plans and he was just lying about that to get votes as well.
  24. The Next President

    And here we go: http://www.cnn.com/2016/11/07/politics/live-election-results-coverage/index.html
  25. [DevLog] Monumental Failure

    Looking good!
