I would say that he took very genuine, realistic characters placed in a bizarre trope-filled fantasy world and watched what happened.

Most of his books are short and awesome, well worth reading. I think I'm one behind myself, but I own them all.

Try and sneak on the old Mr. Peabody cartoons and see if he notices?

I really liked Win Dave Lang's money, but man that money booth needs a replacement fan or something.- 1367 replies

Hopefully that means we get a mixed playlist from all maps.

I could swear the GB panel was on the website, but now I can't find it. I'd rather not watch through Twitch's interface. Edit: It was definitely there, Google has an address for it, but it's mysteriously gone.- 1367 replies

There is a consent spectrum between 100% enthusiastic and holding a gun to someone's head. Money issues can fall in several different areas in that spectrum. "I want money to buy a new iPhone" vs "I will have to pinch pennies to make it this month" vs "I will get thrown out of my house if I can't make rent"

Nice, even with all that, Marijuana is still illegal. *sigh*

Ooof, I haven't listened yet, but I had a tingly feeling that this one wasn't going to go so well.- 1367 replies

I'm not sure how much I want to get into it, as it's a bit of a sore spot right now, but this combined with a deep-seated religious upbringing (long lapsed, but still there) have made things difficult for me quite a bit recently. It can be hard to take people (male or female) at face value when they say they're up for something. I always have a doubt that they're doing it just for me and don't really enjoy it. Part of that is rooted in the "expecting from other people what you do yourself" syndrome, where I often agree to do things I'd rather not do (not just sex, more of an overall life thing.) Part of it is that I have a dominant personality at times and have accidentally bullied people into doing things in the past (not sex in those cases, thankfully.)

I had no idea that was a re-make.

That's a shame, they were pretty quick about replacing my G930 when it started having problems. At the same time, I've bought a lot of their headsets and I'm really starting to notice the flaws there and it makes me kind of regret buying another one last month.
-
Wouldn't that just be an iPhone in a gold circle hanging on a chain?
-
Sorry, I know that I fall into that assume trap, not helped by the fact that I am often right which makes the mistakes I make when I'm wrong particularly egregious.

Nothing says he can't spend money like a trust fun kid and then still have plenty left over for more sedate/charitable living later. Man, I just got a small bonus from work and I'm spending it like it's going out of style.

As the gentleman who got up at the last Idle Thumbs PAX prime panel and asked about Firefall instead of Firewatch, yes I cringe every time.- 1367 replies

To be fair to Bill Gates, the time period where MS was making most of their money, they were a software company. It's only fairly recently (5 yearsish?) that they've been really pushing the devices side of things and thus had factories. During that time Bill wasn't making the decisions and also wasn't profiting from them (since MS's stock has been pretty static for a while.) He's also given away a lot more of his money than most people that are honored for their charity. http://www.inquisitr.com/181177/since-2007-bill-gates-has-given-away-48-percent-of-his-net-worth-for-charity-infographic/ So while I get the point that you're making, I don't think either Notch or Bill Gates fall into this "dirty money" category where they owe the world something.

I would let her speak for herself rather than make assumptions at what she might be thinking. Second, if you're really concerned, you should ask her. Pretty much all relationship device boils down to "don't assume, just ask!"

Oh nice, I was just talking about picking one of those up with my Tax return. Edit: Webpage looks broken? It's only letting me order one that's 220v Edit 2: I assume it's because all the US ones are sold out Edit 3: Working now, and purchased

Yeah, that complaint was all the rage when they first added the tutorial. It's why I never ended up buying the game.
-
I bought it last PAX prime for my wife and I, but haven't had a chance to fire it up for longer than "yup it works."

I guess I have that as well? I guess what I use GB for is taking a list of games that I am interested in and prioritizing it to decide what to buy. Also occasional surprises (I watch almost every single QL) and yes, the style quotient. In this particular case, having the Majora's Mask pro steering the Quick Look didn't really feel useful to me, as it doesn't really give me a good idea what it would be like to figure out all that calendar stuff if I didn't already know what was happening. So I was unable to figure out if the time and exploration aspect (which I had problems with before) would be interesting or frustrating given the 10 years of my taste changing and the various usability improvements in the new version. It turns out that I get far more of use from an unskilled and unresearched Quick Look than I ever do from a video where they know what they're doing- 1367 replies

I have been told a couple of times by women in person that the word douche offends them. I do my best to not use it, but it was a favored insult for quite a long time and it can be difficult to shake at times.

Considering that everyone else at GB hates video games, I'm willing to put up with a little over-exuberance occasionally. That being said, I was actually trying to make a buying decision based on that Majora's Mask QL, and it didn't help me much.- 1367 replies
