I made a sort-of mistake by buying Mario Puzzle and Dragon before my trip. It's fun enough, but I kinda wish I'd gotten Story of Seasons instead. In the end, it didn't matter, because my wife decided to pick back up Apollo Justice and dominate the 3DS anyway *shrug*

Kotor 2 just got a new patch, right?

I know this was a while ago, but it is not necessary to get all the stars to get the true ending. The true ending occurs either when you get all the Tetris pieces, or when you climb the center tower, depending on which end you want. The bonus you get by getting all the stars is nifty, but not what I'd call a "true" ending. Edit - This was for Talos Principle, by the way. -
Hmm, i might run next door and get this for my upcoming vacation. Either this or Mario Puzzle and Dragons.

At some point it's good even if it's another big company because then there's at least competition. In the last two places I've lived, my options were either Comcast (now xfinity) or Qwest (now century link) and the Qwest speeds weren't anywhere near competitive. At least with Verizon I'd have a choice, though Comcast hasn't really been all that bad for the last few years.

It's interesting to hear a different perspective on the Seattle taxi scene. From my end, living about 10 miles out of the city center in Kirkland, I have had multiple taxi drivers that kicked me out of the car because they didn't want to drive me home. That isn't legal, as I am still within the service area, but they didn't care. I like Lyft because the driver knows where he's taking me before he even picks up the fare so there are no surprises for anyone involved. Also, the fact that I can grab a Lyft for my wife and take care of all the money on my phone so she doesn't have to stress about it. To be fair, I never had a bad experience with Uber either, I just switched after I heard about the 1000's of canceled calls to Lyft. Seattle has recently been taking measures to legalize Lyft and Uber in the area, which is cool because I'd much rather live on the non-shady side of the line. http://www.geekwire.com/2015/statewide-laws-regulating-uber-lyft-set-to-pass-in-washington/ Also, there's this cool article from last year that seems to indicate that Lyft at least somewhat cares about its passagers: http://www.geekwire.com/2014/lyft-safety-heres-happened-got-hit-riding/

World of Warships is pretty cool. It's a good stop-gap until War Thunder comes out with their ships expansion later in the year.
-
That's because they ruined all the cool stuff from the first movie by adding a bunch of CG in the second and third.

There are many things in life worth fighting for, and we should respect those that are willing to do the fighting for those of us that aren't willing. Though some missions that they are sent on are questionable at best (especially in hindsight) the people at the ground level are just people, 90% of them just trying to do the best thing they can at the time.

At least not until we have a way to manufacture materials already in space, or get what we need from the moon or asteroids whose low gravity would make getting the materials up from the surface a lot cheaper. I'm inclined to believe we'll have a limited form of a replicator long before we'll have teleporters. Of course, there's always people with more money than sense that might be willing to pay for luxury in the stars once a certain intersection of price and comfort is reached.

I never made it out of the first zone in that. I'm not sure why.

Interesting considering, if the rumors are true, they canceled the different starting missions for each origin right?

I'm not super familiar with the Tacoma area my self, despite having worked there for the better part of a year, but a lot of the bad reputation that area has had is 20-30 years old at this point. It's definitely an up and coming area, the theatre district is starting to turn vibrant again, and it's got a college town feel in some areas due to the University of Washington having a Tacoma extension. Olympia... I dunno. I grew up around there so maybe it's improved too, but I'd head north rather than south.

After this discussion, I don't think trash mobs exist anymore, outside of going to an area that is significantly lower level than you.
-
Trash mobs used to be there to put a slow drain on your resources to make the eventual boss fight harder. These days games are easy enough that the trash mobs really are just trash and most bosses in games aren't much better really. Thus, in Dark Souls which is actually challenging, the trash mobs actually have a point. Edit: Also, save points right before boss fights negate the effect as well.

You'd be surprised at the amount of people that would complain about getting cash from a fight with a bear because it isn't realistic.

Finally got to the end of Sid Meyer's Pirates! on the iPad today. Man the boss on that game is a crock of shit. I don't understand why people like this game so much, it's just repetitive dumb sword fighting, the ship fighting is laughably easy, and there's an age mechanic that the game didn't even surface to me so now I'm apparently too old to do this fight and I have to start over? Screw that. There's no way I'm wasting my life away on this anymore. -
The most recent Giant Bomb East podcast had some of that. I think it's fairly common, though I've never done it myself.

Sadly, $1000 for pet hospital (a night I assume) sounds somewhat reasonable compared to some of the prices I've heard. Still a lot of money to spend though.

So, my wife really wants a nice Animal Crossing Isabelle figure. Since the Nendroids are going for $100+ these days, I was hoping to score one of the (rumored?) Isabelle Amiibo. Have they been officially announced as thing? I've found articles mentioning them but nothing official from Nintendo.

Mind if I ask what area the UPS store is in? Might make it easier to give housing tips.

In theory, the would be able to traverse terrain that no wheeled vehicle could. In practice, they fall over on flat ground, let alone hilly terrain.

Man, that bus was pretty cool though, right? Until I just searched it up, I had no idea who Mark Kern was. I was at a couple of PAX's where they went all out for Firefall marketing. It definitely snared me and a few friends because of all the hubbub, but we only played for 4 hours or so. I might have put a little money in?

To be honest, I'm Kickstarter fatigued.
