Play more main story missions. The mission that you're on has been the crappiest so far for me, but I believe you get her either right after that, or one more mission in.

Nope.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
The way I read it, Activation replaced the music on one trailer and drug their feet releasing his work as a stand-alone CD, then he started sabotaging marketing and being unprofessional in meetings? I mean "unprofessional" is a pretty broad term that could mean a lot of things, but it doesn't seem to me to be something worth fighting over. -
Despite my logical mind knowing that it's all just meaningless tat, my heart is still driven by achievements and completionism.

This quote: means that I won't be able to get all the Grimoire cards if I buy the Taken King disc, since I don't already own Destiny right now.

Idle Thumbs 226: "Console Wars and Hedge Dog" or "The New Far Cry 2"
Dewar replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
You're in luck then, cut scenes are few and mostly pretty short once you get past the intro. Most of the story is told through (drum roll..........) audio logs. -
There's definitely something going on, as I didn't see folks with shields until Mission 12, when others had them appearing as early as mission 5. On the other hand, pretty much everyone in my game is wearing a helmet at this point, even after doing missions that are supposed to reduce Helmet supplies.

Well that's disappointing. So even if I buy The Taken King when it comes out, I won't be able to get all the content : (

Any tank related missions get a lot easier when you get the Fulton that can steal tanks

Ug. that story makes everyone involved look like babies. -
I was using mostly energy weapons by the point in the game that the Legion really came after me, but I don't recall them being that hard.

The only time I really fail missions in this is when I sneak all the way to the middle of the base then trigger an alarm when surrounded on all sides. There have been a couple of really frustrating missions that seem designed to really hurt you if you try and stealth. One I ended up just Rambo-ing in and having no problems, and the second I just got really stubborn with and managed to win, even with the cheat-y enemies they send at you in a cut scene. So I guess I'd say I love the game except when they try and script storyline stuff, because they fail at that pretty hard. Edit: Oh, I just finally got a silenced sleep dart sniper rifle. It makes going back to old missions a breeze.

20 hours in, they haven't made any point about it at all. I've heard that, later in the game, putting clothes on her is used as a torture method, so that sounds fun.

Windows 10: "It wouldn't be right to call it Windows 9."
Dewar replied to Urthman's topic in Idle Banter
*sigh* For someone who has Windows 8 on a tablet, the tablet mode in this seems inexplicably poor. It never seems to kick up the on-screen keyboard when I need it (login for instance,) even when set to always be in tablet mode. The built in video app is light years behind the Windows 8 one (yes, I know I can download a different app, but so far I haven't found one that has an interface that works well with touch.) And it doesn't seem to sleep properly so it drains the battery in my bag. Normally, I'd just blame manufacturer's drivers for it, but it's a frickin Surface Pro, so either way it's Microsoft's fault. -
Winners Don't Do Schrooms is a crazy creative idea.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

They weren't for me. Maybe that was part of the problem. -
As you might have noticed if you were looking at the MGS thread, but I ended up buying it. I'm 15 hours in and it's been pretty non-offensive besides Quiet so far. She's also optional, so if she were to die then you wouldn't have to deal with that either. (Of course, that's a whole different weird argument of sex versus violence.) There really hasn't been a ton of story really, it's been mostly open world stealth action.

Mission 12 spoilers/complaints. The mission where you...

I distinctly remember people getting beaten up for wearing them when I was in 7th grade in 1995.

Those weren't popular in the 90s either.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence
Dewar replied to Adam Beckett's topic in Strategy Game Discussion
So, this doesn't have anything to do with Dynasty Warriors, right? There's no direct control of a warrior in combat, it's all moving squads around and positioning and such? -
Despite (or maybe because of) having most of my knowledge about The Three Kingdoms be from Dynasty Warriors, I'd be interested in going to that. To answer the actual question, I don't think anyone would bat an eye at you wearing fantasy European garb. Wearing classical Chinese garb would make you stand out, but I would think in a positive way? I dunno, the Renaissance Faires I went to were in a College town, so people will fairly liberal and accepting.

Farmers markets around here have a Hopped Apple Cider that the stated goal of is to taste as much like beer as possible but remain gluten free. I don't know if they're hitting that goal, but the hops create a pretty good flavor that's not as overbearing as an IPA. Mixed drinks wise, I prefer Manhattans, though there's a pretty wide range of quality and style to them so I don't get them just anywhere. Also, wine is awesome.
