Personally, I use a wired 360 controller on my computer. I ended up buying four for multiplayer gaming using a laptop hooked up to our TV. I've never had a 360 controller die on me (I think I have 3 wireless ones as well as the 4 wired ones mentioned earlier,) but maybe I'm just lucky. The thumbstick on one of my originals is fairly loose and registers movement when you're not touching the stick occasionally, but that's it.

I was surprised about that as well, reading through the pre-order stuff today. Also brand new sets of enemies as well.
-
So, a week until release. I'm trying to decide if I want to pre-order the $75 whole-shebang pack, since I assume most future mods will require all the DLC, or buy the regular pack and then buy the DLC all at once later.

WickedCestus, I have both given and taken tons advise that wasn't heeded at the time, but turned out to be "correct" in hindsight. Part of the human condition is having to make mistakes yourself.

I would sooner drop MGS5 than Fallout, but that's just me. I spent about the same amount of time in both.

Killed my first Chimera and Griffin last night. The griffin fight was very long at level 28, and didn't reward me with much. I have a feeling I wasn't supposed to do that yet?

There's a buff that appears after a little while at sea called "Something awaits you...." You can basically do one quest stage each time this pops up, so if it feels like a place has nothing to do, you might want to come back when you have that buff. It's basically how this game keeps track of turns.

I'm still around that level range. Just sent a friend request.

Yay, here's the Goldenrod Mk1, my first ship to make it all the way to the moon and back. I have successfully returned two astronauts from the moon via relay from Kerbin orbit, but this is the first one to make it all the way home. It was really close. I ran out of fuel with my orbit just kissing the atmosphere at 65k, so I had to get out and push a little, then wait for my orbit to decay. Next step is to get good enough an Munar landings to land next to my stranded Kerbal and bring her home. On another note, it turns out that you can get your Kerbal rocket 3D printed right off their website. My wife slipped onto my computer and grabbed a save file. Unfortunately/Fortunately, she grabbed one of my more insane designs. It now sits on my desk to help me remember that more rockets isn't necessarily better.

Man, the stars in Braid are so weird. A completely different story going on as barely attached metaphors under the surface.

So many good games coming out. Glowing discussion on the Bombcast has elevated this up to my must-buy list along with XCOM2, so I'll have a lot to play over the next few weeks.

Technically, once you open the bundle for yourself on Humble Bundle, each of the individual keys is labeled for personal use only. You're not supposed to give any of the keys to anyone else, but there isn't anything actually stopping you from doing so.

Darkest Dungeon: Fear is a mind killer, and so is Eldritch Pull
Dewar replied to Dr Wookie's topic in Video Gaming
I did a couple of missions last night, beat another boss, and had fun doing it. Maybe I was just trying to play too much in a chunk? Maybe even playing in little chunks will feel tedious? I guess I'll find out. -
I have run into that wall in my own understanding several times. I try to remember some wisdom that I got from my parents when I was quite young. Its meaning has changed for me several times over my life, but it's remained priceless. Of course, children's day actually does exist, and has gotten a bit more recognized since that day, but the sentiment is still true. Every single day of the year, cis-white people get empathy, but some other people don't, and it's worth taking some time to think about that.

I was saying interesting to the whole concept, no so much the story line stuff. I have a friend of a friend who's into Pinball and he's always frustrated that I just want to bang the ball around rather than learning the table, that's all.
-
Interesting, I'll try to remember to give this a shot tonight, though I rarely have the patience to learn a table fully before I get bored.

I'm like the last person in the world to see it, I know, but I finally got to a theatre on Friday. I really really liked it. I didn't have a problem with any of the nostalgia parts until the trench run, which I thought was a little much. For me, there was just the amount of call-backs I wanted, the plot was similar yet a little different, pretty much everything I secretly hoped for. The plot was a bit dumb in spots, but really the original trilogy wasn't exactly the best/most interesting/solid plot either, so I'm willing to let most of it slide.

I think I know where you are. I was having a tough time with the lizards and then I ran like a baby when I saw the Chimera in the distance.

Darkest Dungeon: Fear is a mind killer, and so is Eldritch Pull

I think that's pretty much where I'm at. 8 people at level 3, a couple at 4, but just finally got level 2 weapons and everything else at level 1. I've gotten pretty good at the low level missions, to the point where I generally can take in two level 0s and two level 1s and end the mission with less stress than I started, but bad traits seem to rack up pretty fast regardless. On the plus side, I'm getting quite a few positive traits, but the cost to lock one is so prohibitively high at this point that it's getting frustrating to lose the ones I like. I'm starting to wonder if maybe I just picked the wrong upgrades in town, focusing too much on price reduction maybe? I dunno, maybe I'll play some more tonight so I can offer some more useful criticism. -
Nice, I loved Disgaea, but had a harder time getting through Disgaea 2, and have totally stalled on Disgaea 3. Having it on computer instead of PS3 would be huge.

From WebMD (great source I know) So "buying" fetal tissue (or any human organ) is illegal, but paying for the medical costs to extract and ship it isn't. Thus, any financial bargaining above base costs puts you pretty solidly in the illegal camp.

Idle Thumbs 246: Mesmerized, Process, and Anxiety
Dewar replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I have no authority, but I'd say you should probably email this as well as your previous post to Idle Thumbs. I would love this to be discussed on a podcast. -
Or that Star Trek episode where the computers calculated who died and asked them to report to the termination chambers.

I'm not really looking for it to be harder, in fact I fear when it gets harder because I'm not going to start over at this point. If I die, I'm done with the game. What I really want is each individual dungeon run to take less time, or for there to be less dungeon runs, or something. I just got past my first long dungeon run, and it was looong.
