You need to research guns that have those attachments by default, then you can put those attachments on any other guns. I'm not aware of any way to know precisely which guns you need to research.

When I did a similar maneuver, it ended up around 30 days. Those longer orbits are still only a few days each.- 1367 replies

Duelyst! Final Fantasy Tactics Hearthstone crossover! Yt's good!
Dewar replied to osmosisch's topic in Video Gaming
Downloaded and signed up for this today, not sure when I'll actually have a chance to try it though, -
I stealthed through that entire mission, just to have the Pequad decide to land right on top of a patrol and ruin my total stealth rating. So lame.

I had a killer 15 million first ball where I got Bushman and Black Spectre, but then followed it up with a pretty lame second ball. Then on the third I manage to get Midnight, and ended up with my new top score. I'm starting to enjoy the table a lot, but there's still a lot going on I don't understand. I don't really understand why Whirlybird multi-ball is available sometimes and not others, and I haven't figured out how to do the Taxi stuff either. I've started reading the table info in the game, but I'm not very fluent in the pinball language, so that's only of some use. I at least figured out how to reliably light my ball on fire. Edit: Oof, just read through a walkthrough again, seems like a lot of those extra modes are activated just by hammering the same ramp or orbit over and over again. It really feels like there's too much to keep in my head for this table, but that might just be lack of practice.

He's an actual astronomer/physicist who does the most popular YouTube videos for Kerbal space program. He's fairly unique in that he describes why things work that way, physics-wise, instead of just being a list of instructions like a lot of YouTube videos and FAQs. https://www.youtube.com/user/szyzyg He also has a dreamy Scottish accent.- 1367 replies

I think I need to re-think my choices on the world map. I've been pretty quick to research the tech and then contact new areas as soon as I have contacts available. However, I'm always late to get the com towers, and I've only put a couple down, so I don't have any continent bonuses yet.

Got one villain and a multi-ball. Thankfully, the ball lock happens to be the ramp that I have the easiest time hitting, but I don't feel like I got a lot of score out of it despite it yelling "jackpot" over and over. I have a really tough time hitting to the far left for some of the villains, mainly because of the slight latency (or my lack of skill) causing the ball to roll off the end of the flipper. I checked my AMD settings, and I don't see anything like the Nvidia options you described, so I guess I'm just going to have to get used to it. Edit: I should mention that, so far at least, I haven't looked at any table instructions. I'll probably take a quick look at the videos that Clyde posted tomorrow and maybe I'll be able to get up there and be competitive.

Hmm, sorry for not reading the thread up until now, but does anyone have any opinions on "The Adventure Zone?" I haven't listened to My Brother, My Brother and Me before, but it sounds like this might be right up my alley as a way to introduce me to those folks?

Very true. Watching BeagleRush's Live and Impossible series, I learned the value of a unmissable grenade over a 90% accuracy rifle shot.

I was waiting for Oblivion for a year or two and so excited, but I did the math on how much it would cost to get my PC up to snuff and just couldn't justify it. I looked into mods like Old-blivion that would down-clock the visuals to something more manageable, but even then I was on the edge of minimum spec. So I found a cheap deal on an Xbox 360, and my future was decided.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Sales increase 100%, costs increase 150% I guess? That sucks for Madcatz and also for Harmonix. I was so excited for RB4, but they just kept doing things that I just didn't want, until I decided not to buy the game : ( -
It says the loot was destroyed in the ticker on the right hand side, though it's pretty easy to miss, especially if you're getting a lot of kills as only 3-ish items show up there at any time.
-
It does, however, destroy any look that corpse would drop. Loot drops happen seldom enough that I don't sweat it too much, but I tend to open with a grenade and then finish enemies off with weapons if possible.

I'm running ATI, and using a keyboard. I generally have a pretty low latency setup, I bought a screen with that specifically in mind, but I'll screw around in the new (much less functional than the old version) ATI settings tray icon and see if there's anything in there of use.

I made a lot of angry posts on here but, looking back on it, I had a lot of fun. I regret buckling and reading a few spoilers, but that's a problem with my will power, not with the game.

Sorry for the brief post last night, I was exhausted. It's the first time I've played Pinball on a computer since the space cadet game that came with Windows. I ended up spending a lot of time fighting with mechanical stuff like views and buttons, and still didn't find one I liked. I felt like I was a quarter second slow hitting the flippers at some critical stages, and the ball would get lost in the color scheme on the field occasionally. This is also the first time I've played a Pinball table that couldn't be a physical machine in real life. I thought that the extra CG stuff would be off putting, but I actually found it quite enjoyable. I managed to complete one mission on my run, and this game does a better job than any of the physical games I've played of letting you know your mission status and what ramps to hit when. I definitely will play some more, if nothing else I'm going to try playing once on each view type to see if I can find one that works a little better for me. Edit: Oh, are you getting those score pictures just by hitting the Steam screenshot button and cropping, or is there a built in way to post that?

Just fought my first Codex, and I've managed to never say no to a mission. Unfortunately, this means I haven't been pursuing the blacksites as fast as I probably should, so I imagine next time I play is going to be pretty rough as I try to catch up. I heard on a podcast someone mention that the initial few missions are much easier with the tutorial off, I'd tend to agree, with how many times I had to play through the first couple of missions in the tutorial, versus having 2-3 flawless missions every time I've restarted without tutorial. It seems like an interesting choice. Are they just trying to make the beginning hard to teach you to get used to losing soldiers, or do you get some bigger benefit by playing those missions, or maybe just a balance mistake?
-
Took just a couple of shots at it tonight and got 9,199,460.
-
So what about armors that you have to get in the proving grounds. That's not a global upgrade right, it's just one for one soldier?

Wow, mag rifles are pretty overpowered. I just got myself out of the most f'd situation, all my fault. I sneaked all the way into the vial, but then agroed the robot in the very last room and had to deal with incoming pods on all sides. I somehow managed to kill everything coming in at me, grabbed the vial, but then when reinforcement drops came in I didn't get a single overwatch hit on any of them. Finally, I had stacked up on a door to get out to the evac spot, but it turns out it was a window that you can't jump through, so I had to run a quarter of the way around the building, under fire from both reinforcement squads, to finally get to evac. I had to run at least 4 enemy overwatches to make it out, no one panicked.

Idle Thumbs 248: The Bear's Black Heart
Dewar replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I'm so happy that Chris managed to hold off telling Nick that he was the one who sent it for so long. I don't think I'd be able to. -
I miss controller support a lot. Two things in particular bug me. 1) Right click to confirm a move, but everywhere else (such as aiming a grenade or something) right click backs out. This has caused me to move when I meant to cancel a bunch of times. 2) When trying to aim a long distance grenade, the arrow keys sometimes move the screen, and other times choose what skill you're using. Thankfully, this has just been an annoyance where I have to reselect the skill I wanted and aim again. It feels like they had to really polish the XCOM UI to work with controllers and consoles, while this all feels a bit slapdash.

The Division - Tom Clancy Presents Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's The Division, By Ubisoft
Dewar replied to Badfinger's topic in Video Gaming
I might pick it up? It sounds like a lot of my gaming friends really liked the beta, but I've been spending money on gaming a pretty quick clip over the last month, so I dunno.
