  1. Automation: Where did all the jobs go?!

The difference with a vending machine is that it's hourly cash throughput is fairly small. If a vending machine dies and doesn't work for a couple of days, or craps out an extra snickers bar on occasion, it's no big deal. Something the size of a fast food restaurant could lose a lot of money quick if it were to malfunction, so I'd expect they'd have one person there to keep an eye on things. Thinking Shadowrun style, I suppose you could have a central monitoring station with cameras in a bunch of different stores with one human able to press the button to close a store and automatically send out a technician?
  2. Last night I got through one of my least favorite parts of Dark Souls 2, the part with the boat (being vague for xchen's sake.) I guess that's why I stopped playing, since it almost got me to stop the first time through as well. Regardless, I know have my Pyromancer's flame finally.
  3. Stardew Valley

Oh, I didn't know it had controller options. That might make a big difference for me.
  4. XCOM 2

The fact that a reload doesn't end a turn anymore makes the ammo consumption a little less of a priority.
  5. XCOM 2

I've missed several 90% accuracy sword swings. Maybe it's just a string of bad luck that made me stop using the class, but the penalties of missing are so damn high. I'll take another heavy and three more grenades instead.
  6. XCOM 2

Except one miss and they're screwed?
  7. XCOM 2

Man, swords never seem that useful to me. They miss more often then it feels like they should, they don't do significantly more damage than a sniper and ,unless the enemy is the front enemy and positioned on the other side of a half cover wall, it leaves the ranger open to be shot. Frankly, I rarely take a ranger with me anymore.
  8. I Had A Random Thought...

It is really creepy watching a tarantula effortlessly scale the glass wall of its terrarium.
  9. XCOM 2

I find that having combat protocol is invaluable to keep from having to waste grenades. There are so many times that a specific alien absolutely has to die, and I can't even risk an 80% shot, where having something that never misses is so great. If you don't have combat protocol, that's pretty much just grenades.
  10. XCOM 2

Yeah, I didn't get a lot of those tactical options on my first play through due to lack of cash. I only every built one suit of power armor and only a couple batches of experimental ammo and armor, no psi chamber, and a fairly late Advanced Warfare center. I didn't have any idea how much I had handicapped myself until I started doing some research for my second attempt. It's tough to make wise decisions in this game.
  11. Pinball Club

I bought the larger Marvel pack for Moon Knight, but I haven't been trilled with any of the other tables I've tried in that set.
  12. XCOM 2

Though I haven't gotten all the way up the specialist tree, on this playthough I've been running with two specialists in every mission, one with all the medic skills and the other with all the hacking skills. When I tried to mix and match, I found myself getting confused which person had what, so I've stayed pretty rigid.
  13. XCOM 2

Man, I definitely am seeing you guys talk about some stuff I barely touched during my first big play. I really need to examine what I'm doing on the strategic layer. The timer is an ever-present stress. It is especially bad in terror missions (which don't have a timer up top, but still have a time limit of a sort.) If there's one change from XCOM:EW that's most notable, it's this. I think it's a better game for it, but it does definitely take getting used to. The most notable advantage that the gunner tree has over the grenadier tree, it is still useful when you are out of grenades. It does happen, I've gotten into a couple of long fights where I've completely used up all my consumables. I mean look at some of those screenshots up higher in the thread. I think one of them had 40 alien kills on it? I usually keep one skilled gunner, and then send the rest up the explosives tree.
  14. I'm expecting that the Dark Zone is the entire endgame and, if there's something that's PvE, I will be pleasantly surprised. This article seems to imply that there will be a hard mode for PvE content that I guess is level 30, but they seem a lot more excited to talk about the dark zone. https://www.vg247.com/2016/01/15/the-divisions-level-cap-solo-play-hard-mode-loot-and-free-updates-laid-bare/
  15. Please tip your postmate

I've been mainly using this forum to rage about how games are too hard and I don't have patience for them anymore, so I get where you're coming from. Edit: I've been avoiding posting in most of the serious threads around here of late as well.
  16. The Big VR Thread

Hololens Dev edition on sale at the end of the month for 3000 US Dollars. https://blogs.windows.com/devices/2016/02/29/announcing-microsoft-hololens-development-edition-open-for-pre-order-shipping-march-30/
  17. Hmm, maybe I'll poke at it a bit and see how it goes. The last thing I probably need right now is another frustrating game to pile on top of the others that have been coming out, but Dark Souls can also have a meditative quality to it.
  18. So apparently this is out fairly soon, and I haven't even gotten that far into Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin. I can't decide if I want to try and push through it, or not touch it so Dark Souls 3 feels nice and fresh.
  19. Wipe them from the planet and put the resources to better use?
  20. The McElroy Family of Products

Oh man, Adventure Zone is so good. For about half an episode, I wasn't so sure, but it turned to gold in front of my eyes.
  21. Stardew Valley

I found this slower paced than I expected (I know, what should I expect from a farming sim) and less story oriented. That being said, I had fun playing for about 4 hours yesterday, but I'm likely to just play a day or two occasionally rather than playing al day again. It does make me want to grab Story of Seasons though.
