  1. Relaxing games recommendations

    It's worth it
  2. I will definitely post when I'm done tonight, but that'll be around 11pm Pacific so it'll probably be too late for any purchasing decisions today
  3. Idle Thumbs Streams

I disagree, I killed him there as well and I think it's the best way to handle things given the situation. That armor is expensive and he doesn't serve much of a purpose that his ashes won't allow the shopkeep to handle.
  4. Oh, that's not bad. Good thing I guess, since my work apparently blocks logins to the Steam community site, even though I can login to the store site.
  5. Once upon a time, Call of Duty was the game that nuked you, made you suffer and die, and it wasn't crass or a cash-in, it just felt horrific.
  6. Idle Thumbs Streams

I'm about 2/3's of the way through the VoD, and I'd just like to say that you made a ton of progress for one day. I didn't go to those rafters until much later, and still had a tough time with them.
  7. Up to 32 person multiplayer, one computer per player. How stable it is, I guess we'll see. Edit: For those folks in applicable time zones, you can initiate downloads from your web browser as long as you have Steam running at home. I'm looking forward to having the game already installed when I walk in the door after work. Edit2: Download should be available at 18:00 CEST, which I think is 1pm Eastern, 10am Pacific.
  8. Nice, I'll check them out. I played a couple of times this weekend and did better being more flexible with demolishing and reconstructing buildings. I managed to buy an opponent out, but then the next opponent bought me shortly after. Progress at least.
  9. Paragon (lane pusher)

I played a lot of Paragon this weekend. I'm not very good at the non-LOMA parts (aiming mainly) and I lost a lot. Like crazy against the odds how many times I lost, and not all of them my fault. I'm getting better though.
  10. For as disappointing as I found the holiday season last year, this year has been crazy good.
  11. I found it harder than the others, but I think that's due to my Sorcerer build and many of the bosses being in small cramped areas and either having super dangerous long range attacks, or tons of ways to close the distance quickly.
  12. Hmm, maybe I'm not switching up strategy enough in the mid-game. The idea of founding right next to Aluminum so I can switch it up later is an interesting one. Recently, I've been founding next to iron as I like getting steel directly into my HQ without shipping, it makes early upgrades all that much faster. Edit: Also, I could swear that there was a "return plot of land" button when I was playing at the start, but I haven't been able to do it in some time. Is that a difficulty level thing, or maybe I'm not looking in the right place for it?
  13. Paragon (lane pusher)

First level of the master challenge gives you a 5% xp bonus, and then I think it's every other level after that? Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. I saw that it was 5% character XP, and I assumed that was in game, but it's actually character XP toward the mastery path, which is a weird sort of cyclical that makes no sense.
  14. To be clear, I meant that I studied the AI build order in one game, and applied it to the next, only to be outmaneuvered in that game and have the price of steel tank. In general, I've found the price of Aluminum is never as high as water, sulfur, or carbon, so I rarely create an aluminum mine. The times that I do, the price seems to tank even further. Yes, I'm making use of adjacency bonuses, and playing Robotic so making use of their special bonuses for having a mine that creates a resource and a factory that needs a resource next to each other. In general, I feel like I'm disproportionately altering the economy. In other words, the price tanks on anything I produce in any quantity, and the price skyrockets on anything that I need to buy. Then when I try a different start, it flips the other way.
  15. Probably bigger textures. On the console, you don't have to have anything higher res than 1080p.
  16. Paragon (lane pusher)

I bought in at 10 dollars and have had fun so far. Definitely people getting in that have no interest in team work, which kinda bites when you're ahead all game, but then when it gets to team fight time, only three folks show up. But that's a LOMA for ya. As for "owning" a character, yes you can play a character for free, but the top-end 30% XP boost you get for the mastery means that once you get off the bottom rung of matchmaking, you'll be seriously behind using one you haven't paid for.
  17. As much as I want to play it, I doubt I'll have time for it
  18. Paragon (lane pusher)

Interesting, that's pretty expensive for a mastery track. I guess that's an ongoing problem in the F2P space, I'd love to buy new ships/characters/skins/etc, but they seem to be priced around $10-$15 which is just too much for me to justify the purchase. Edit: Wait, did the price of Paragon founder's packs just drop? I could swear it was 20$/60$/100$ yesterday.
  19. Relaxing games recommendations

Minecraft or Factorio are my go to games for relaxation. I like low-risk creativity based games.
  20. That's a pretty eclectic list of discussed games. I'm looking forward to it.
  21. The Next President

Republican people are unhappy, and they want change just like Democrats eight years ago. Sometimes "not a politician" is enough to get you to stand above the crowd.
  22. The Next President

So I guess with Kasich suspending his campaign, it's official. Trump is the republican candidate.
