  1. DOTA 2

There's an Idle Thumbs guild you have to get into to see most of the chat. I've been on at bad times and I haven't gotten in myself.
  2. Saints Row 4

Hmm, I guess I was missing something, everyone else seems to love the movement stuff. Maybe my machine just wasn't cutting it but I had a really hard time controlling it.
  3. GTA V

Keep in mind that back when the 360 came out, there were a few multi-generation titles, and for the first year they were all pretty much limited by the old hardware. It'll probably be at least a year before third party games really start to use the power available to them.
  4. When they announced that project $10 was over, they had to have something even more stupid to take its place.
  5. iOS Gaming

So, my work is getting me an iPhone. Up until now I have been stuck in the games wasteland of Windows Phone 7/8. So what awesome games are there that were out three years ago that I shrugged off because I couldn't play any of them? What would you folks consider iPhone classics?
  6. Recently completed video games

Saints Row 4 complete (for now at least, when some DLC comes out I'll go in and 100% the collectables.) Well worth my time, funny as hell.
  7. Saints Row 4

I just beat it. The humor and sense of timing in the game made it well worth the while, but I found myself sorta missing the vehicle stuff. I didn't find the new transversal stuff as fun as everyone else, but so much else about the game was awesome that it didn't bother me that much. I clocked in at around 24 hours with 85% completion.
  8. Either previous to the games and from the Turian War era, or after the games and dealing with the fallout from all the Mass Relays being broken. Edit: It doesn't even have to be the same type of game. I'd take a pure FPS, or a TIE Fighter style game, whatever they want to serve up.
  9. XCOM: Enemy Within

Hmm, I might have to finally get the PC version of XCOM for this. I don't relish the idea of playing the expansion on my 360.
  10. PAX Prime 2013

Friday is generally a tough day for me since I like to go to the keynote, PA panel, and Rooster Teeth panel right as the show opens, then there's hotel arrangements and such to make. It sounds like we might have a good contingent of people to grab a board game and play something together maybe? I haven't looked at the map, but we can probably setup a meet in the free-play area later in the day on Friday or Sunday.
  11. I Had A Random Thought...

Real hippies don't have a car.
  12. Saints Row 4

The comedy bits are well worth the price of admission and I like the game overall, but I'm not finding myself as enthused about the gameplay as some others are. I'm not hating it or anything, but it starts to feel like a chore fairly quickly. Moving around the city just doesn't feel that smooth or fun. I think I'm just going to do the loyalty quests and storyline quests and skip the rest of the side stuff they want you to do.
  13. Apparently someone needs to define the word "New" for EA. Really all I want from them is another, non-shepard, Mass Effect universe game.
  14. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I was not a fan of the alchemy system. Running all over the town to find someone who had that ingredient/potion base for the potion I wanted was a pain. It also felt like the benefit of the potions was really hard judge in a lot of cases, making choices about which ones to use difficult. In the end, I recommend easy simply because you can skip most of the side quests (since you don't need the XP or ingredients as much) and get through the story in 20-30 hours instead of 40+
  15. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

As I posted in the quit games thread, I think Witcher 1 is still worth playing (rather than watching a youtube recap) as long as you play on easy and don't stress out about the monster hunting sidequests. Edit: They aren't really linear, as you get further into the game it gets very political, and your choices can definitely change the course of missions and give you different mission selections.
  16. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I had problems getting through that game myself. I stopped and started again several times, but I did find it worth it in the end. How far in are you? Maybe start over on easy?
  17. I really want to go to a Microsoft press conference/interview and ask "So, you've shut down GFWL, Zune, and the old XBL. Why should I trust this new digital future you're trying to sell me when you're just going to shut it down in a few years?"
  18. Saints Row 4

Digital games are released on Friday in Europe because that's when retailers recieve their game stock. If you were running a store selling computer games (if there's even any of those places left) you'd be annoyed if Steam released everything a couple of days before you recieved it. That's the same reason that games are released on Tuesday in the US. Frankly, I'd rather games were released on Fridays globally, what's the point of getting a game on Tuesday when you can't stay up late and play it?
  19. Phantasy Phootball Online MMXIII

You can trade around players week to week, as well as pick up players off of free agency. With the major talent rolls (QB and RB) most people will stick with the same couple all year, but you can see some major turnover for WRs and such depending on how their team is doing, who they're playing against, etc.
  20. Saints Row 4

Trying to be pretty vague here, but there's a conversation between Keith David and another character where they mention Julius. I didn't realize until just now that Keith David voiced a character named Julius in Saint's Row 1 and 2. Anyone know what the conversation was, I turned it out at the time because I didn't know who they were talking about.
  21. The Bureau: Xcom declassified

For all the crap that this game went through, a lot of the other 2k games have come out really well with the same hire/minimal oversight strategy. Not everything can be a hit I guess.
  22. PL4YST4TION 4

Interesting, any announcements on how they're handling digital purchases (number of consoles, periodic checkins, etc?)
  23. Gamescom 2013

Wait, has Sony announced anything yet, or whas it just complete non-news?
  24. Saints Row 4

So far the super power stuff hasn't really done it for me. We'll see how it goes as I get deeper in.
  25. Saints Row 4

Video chugs a bit when there's a lot of the glowing red vehicles on screen, but it seems to otherwise run ok. It handles it by slowing down the game rather than dropping frames, so even though it doesn't look the best it doesn't get me killed at least.
