I know it sucks but you do learn more when you loose than when you win. Maybe play one bot match and one player match? Maybe try splitting into two smaller groups? I dunno, but playing with bots isn't really the same game.

Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about the forced breaks in Hate Plus. It's already pretty hard to keep all of these names in mind when you're going through in one shot. Maybe I just picked the wrong articles or something, but I'm not near as impressed with Hate Plus as I was with Analogue at this juncture. I guess we'll see how it goes.

It depends on your group size and the time of day. I generally get matches at around my level when queing solo, but when you have 5 man groups it tries to match you with other 5 mans, which are generally going to be higher skill level than that. I had a similar situation with some Giantbomb guys last night, we were advertised low level matchmaking, but ended up with pretty high level opponents. Of course, that could also be because at least one of the folks in the group was much more experienced than the rest of us.

Analogue: A Hate Story - Fun and intriguing game, though I'm not a big fan of how the last part of it went down. Still, well worth playing and I'm looking forward to starting Hate Plus later this week.

Hmm, I just finished Analogue and I didn't have any problems with the interface at all. Maybe they updated it for the steam release or something, but there were built-in family trees to check whenever I got confused. I ended up having to check an FAQ to figure out how to get the Mute endings, but after I did both sides I ended up with 92% completion. I used the direct codes to see the last 8% and I didn't miss anything of great import, so I'm pretty happy with that. I think I need a break before I tackle Hate Plus though.

After almost two years of owning it and barely touching it, I beat Dead Rising 2 today. I really enjoyed myself. The problems I had with the first game (mainly the difficulty of the psychos and the timed events) were tuned down just enough to make them attainable, but not so much as to make the game easy. The final after-credits S ending boss fight was a pain in the ass, but I felt very satisfied after. I'm looking forward to Dead Rising 3.

I'm not sure if this direct link will work, but it's on the twitch.tv channel titled PAX2 if it doesn't. http://www.twitch.tv/pax2/c/2860459

Giant Bomb PAX panel is up, that's a hell of a round of applause there. Cards Against Humanity panel is also available on Twitch and, despite some bad sound quality, it's got some pretty awesome bits about Ryan in it as well.

I played this at PAX. It was about as crazy as the first one was. I didn't really like the mech I was playing as, it was really slow and had super inaccurate weapons, but when I finally got close and opened up with chain guns, it was pretty awesome. My wife had the quicker, more maneuverable mech type and that looked a lot more fun. I didn't get to look at the customization options at all, so I didn't really get an answer to my question

I had an awesome time at the meet up, even if we ended up splitting after Gameworks didn't work out. I think you'll find it near impossible to get that many people in a reservation on a Friday night in Seattle, a lot of places don't take reservations on Friday and Saturday night. Anyway, it was great running into folks I recognized at the DF panel and the Hard Rock Café later.

I was in the panel at PAX where they played that reveal. Man people went nuts, and not just for Jack Black. That's a really cool assortment of folks they've got back.

This quote from the Occulus guys is the best

Hmm, ok, but everyone talks about the interface for the first game being horrible, and the developer told me that the games don't really rely on surprises.

I ran across Hate Plus at PAX in the Indie Megabooth and I just had to buy it. I got the two pack for $15 dollars and now I'm not really sure what I got myself into. I'm thinking I might just play Hate Plus and then maybe go back to play Analogue if it grabs me. Somebody actually came by with a slice of cake for the creator while we were looking at the game.

The Cards Against Humanity panel also was a tribute to him, though I haven't watched it yet.

So, I played Forza 5 on the X1 today at PAX. It had a fairly short line, and I mainly wanted to get my hands on the controller for a bit and I wasn't too particular as to what I played. The rumbling triggers thing ended up being really awesome, I was able to instinctually react to my tires breaking loose from too much gas or brake. I thought it was just going to be a dumb gimmick, but I think it'll be really cool. The rest of the controller more or less felt the same as the X360 one, besides the much improved D-Pad. Forza was pretty much Forza, but man the anti-aliasing wasn't very good. Tons of jaggies, especially noticeable when they're panning the camera around and the grille comes across the screen. Otherwise, super smooth and pretty.

So, I played Warframe and Contrast on the PS4 today at PAX. I thought the touchpad thing would be really difficult to keep in my head while working all the buttons, but Warframe has various powers that are triggered by different swipes across the touch pad and it became second nature by the end of a 5 minute demo. The triggers felt a bit spongy to me, but that might improve over use. Warframe itself seemed pretty good. Constant frame rate through some pretty intense fights, fast paced, nice looking graphics. Unfortunately, the anti-aliasing was pretty crap (something I noticed on both the PS4 and X1.) Maybe it's just because I was playing it on a 30 inch screen about 3 feet away, but the jaggies could have gouged out my eyes. Contrast is a stylized, 1920s carnival looking, 2D/3D platformer. Basically, at any time you can press up against the wall and become a shadow, who can then platform on other shadows being projected on the wall. Lots of manipulating light sources and some pretty complicated jump - flatten - dash - unflatten type mechanics. The vertical slice they showed seemed to have some interesting story bits, but it was hard to make out exactly what was going on what with the demo jumping around. Still, an indie game worth watching.

Guys, Moleneux puts out the craziest reality distortion field when you're in the room with him. I saw the first public demo of Godus today, and it looks pretty damn cool.
-
PMing you codes for Arcade Hecarim and Riot Blitzcrank
-
There was a skin code in my goodie bag, not sure if it was the same one. What one are you looking for? Also, Molenuex showed off Godus publicly for the first time. Game looks awesome and man is he charismatic in person.

Wow, I was playing late last night, and I started getting in some foreign language games. I can only guess it that it was from somewhere in Asia, because man they played super conservative.
-
I've always been bothered by that a little, especially considering the rumor that the 2DS actually only has one screen under the plastic, and parts of it are just being covered by the Bezel to give it a similar form factor to the 3DS. Edit: I traced the article chain on that rumor back to http://www.usgamer.net/articles/oh-so-thats-nintendos-next-move

I just need to know if they have hundreds of odd and pointless weapons to collect. I loved that part.

I'm pretty new, only like 20 wins under my belt.

Except once you have the tornado ability, the cars get knocked out of the way instead. Edit: I didn't think about trying the super jump out, that might have worked better.
