There's really only one set of armor that you upgrade up to different levels as you go (unless you count some of the cold weather clothes options.) There are a lot of different weapons, but after you've crafted a few they aren't different enough to really set them apart. Crafting house items is demphasized in trade for getting you to search out other settlements and swipe components from them. Finding those other settlements is cool, but there isn't a whole lot to do there. In general it felt like I had less options for my character and my home area, more things to find and explore elsewhere, but still not quite enough cool things to find to make exploring really fun. I like it though, it just feels like I need some more variety. Edit: Also, the ballance is really off once you start getting to the Beta and Gamma areas.

That attitude will probably see you well through the end of the DLC, though the optional boss might be another matter.

Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
Dewar replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Server seems to be running a bit rocky tonight. I was on alone, so I doubt it was anything that anyone was doing, maybe just needs a restart? -
Played for 3 hours today and a had a lot of fun. Needs some more depth, but I can see it being pretty cool.

Not to harp on the subject, but a beta is supposed to be feature complete, but buggy, thus those complaints have some merit. But yes, it's silly that people expect early access games to be basically done.

Are you still using the matter manipulator thingy, or do you have a pick? From what I saw on the GB quicklook, tools seem to dig a lot faster.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

This is the year where I pretty much gave up picking up games at release, so I too have no idea what I've played actually came out this year. With that being said, Dark Souls is clearly the best game I've played this year. It's not often that I choose to spend 80 hours in a game these days, and when I do it's usually due to multiple plays in something like Civ 5 or Crusader Kings 2, but Dark Souls had me sucked in for so long, and I'm still considering playing again to kill the time until the sequel comes out. Honorable mention to XCOM: Enemy Unknown

I had problems getting my key properly, but I think I'll be trying it this weekend.

I beat both Breath of Death VII and Cthulu Saves the World this weekend while I was sick. I didn't care for humor in BoD, but I actually dug Cthulu and really enjoyed the wierd ending. Still, I think I'm topped out on Zeboyd games for quite a while.

Eventually all the scouts with the explosive spikes that could just run at the base and destroy it in a couple of hits ruined the game for me, but I loved that thing.

Queelag has an NPC summon (as a lot of the bosses do) that could have helped quite a bit. I didn't have too much of a problem with the summoning on PC myself. Sometimes I'd have to try a couple of times, but it eventually connected.

I think I'll be waiting a while to pick up Burial at Sea, given my problems with playing Minerva's Den too soon after Bioshock 2, but I definitely want to pick it up. After a day to think about it, I really dug Bioshock Infinite a lot, and I'm willing to grab anything that will extend the story.

Finally got around to playing and beating Bioshock Infinite. While I was quite tired of the combat by the end, the story had me gripped from about the 3 hour mark all the way to the end. I still don't know exactly what I saw there, and I'm feeling just a tiny bit insane at the moment.

It's trying to take over the world.

I'd just like to point out that Japanese voice acting has tons of stars that have hundreds of shows to their name. Re-using voice actors is not a strictly Funimation thing, though I think the voice acting scene in Japan is taken a lot more seriously in general than it is in the US.

That's fairly accurate.

I know that it's trite, but sounds like you're not hanging with the right people. I had tons of socialization problems growing up, but I eventually fell in a with a crowd of people that are all assholes in the same way I am and things started to work out. It's a lot easier to deal with folks once you've got a few core people that are insane in the same way you are. That's probably not helpful at all and I almost just deleted this post, but I'll leave it here to basically say that I care and I hope things improve.

Drawing stupid comparisons between an unknown (or lesser known) thing and a more popular thing isn't entirely a sexist issue. You only have to look at the Citizen Kane of video games to see that, along with any number of comparisons that are made to Einstein, Mick Jagger, etc. That doesn't make the comparison any less dumb, I just think we're jumping to conclusions here. I have no comment on the subject of this thread as I have no idea who Porpentine even is.

There's also "acceptable" comfort and "luxurious" comfort to consider. I was on an older boxspring for a long time and if asked I would have called that comfortable. Now that I've gotten a nice pillow top, that's a completely different scale of comfort.

I know you said you're not interested in an office chair, but for anyone else who might be looking, I've been super happy with my executive big and tall office chair. From Office Depot. I'm not technically big and tall, but the extra sturdiness of the frame and extra padding has really been nice. The only problem is that I barely touch the floor with the char enitrely down, and it certainly doesn't fit under my desk. I think this is pretty close to the model I have. Of course, each chair is going to feel different to each person, so my advice is simply to try the heavy-duty chairs and maybe you'll find one you love. http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/618027/True-Innovations-Big-Tall-Heavy-Duty/

Persona 5 - 2015 the year of the PS3 / Persona Q - 3DS
Dewar replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
Well people were freaking out about there being a fighting game in the franchise, but that ended up turning out well right? I'm willing to see what they do with it. -

Oh, I forgot you could do that. I really need to get my PS3 hooked up somewhere where I can use it more often. It's brand new and I've played maybe 4 hours with it. -

Persona 3 is on PSP I believe. I've been thinking about picking it up for a while, this crossover business might make it worth it. I also need to get Persona 4 Arena 1. -
I never did pick this up. How many acts did they say there were going to be?
