Oh, nice, I had heard they weren't going to do that. I wonder how that works with the DLC I purchased.

Bioshock 2 uses GFWL, so now's the time to get it if you're interested.

I got to play the new act for about half an hour last night, then a crusader for another hour or two. The crusader is awesome, interesting abilities, finally a good reason to use a shield, and generally stylish. The new act didn't seem that attractive to me for the little bit I played, but others in Mumble sounded pretty into it, so I'll give it some more time before I pass judgement.

I saw a guy last night who was G10, level 43. He wasn't very good sadly, and we got cratered that game.

I can also say that I wouldn't be this upset (or even reading this thread) for a lousy game. What hurts about BI is that there were a lot of pieces there that were really awesome and could have been something special, but they ended up falling short. I loved the characters, but the story that they walked through was confusing and disjointed. I loved the art and the music, but the way that the rest of the world was realized (in a political/racial/economic sense) didn't really seem to fit. I actually liked the twist at the end, but all the setup before that didn't hold up so well. Anyway, as I've said before, I liked it, I just didn't love it. I really wanted to love it.

It was beautiful at least.

I found it worth it to go back and read the Bioshock Infinite thread once I completed the game. A lot of the same complaints are expressed there, though not as succinctly. Edit: For the record, I actually liked it, especially the end, I just wished that the middle had more to it. It felt like a slog at the time.

I agree wholeheartedly with Bjorn and he pins down things that bugged me that I didn't even realize at the time. Additional story complaints:

I think I might have made a big mistake... How does VAC work exactly?
Dewar replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Your entire Xbox Live account can be banned, killing any games that you have paid for and downloaded, but there is at least an appeals process. -
Soju is good, though I perfer Absinthe for intellectual evenings.

The desktop itself could be putting out interference I mean. A lot of desktop components aren't built with wireless friendly specs. Mine behaved exactly the same way. As the number of dropped packets built up, the speed would automatically decrease to try and reduce the number of errors.

My work has a donate to charity, wear jeans day every Friday. I wish that they'd have a T-Shirt day or something, jeans suck.
-
When I was having that problem, I found out I was getting a ton of dropped packets. Buying a USB extension cable to get the wireless card a little further from the desktop seemed to help a bunch. I'm not sure if there was interference coming from my Desktop or what, but 10 feet made a huge difference.

I recently started using the CAR SMG. It's crazy how accurate it is compared to the guns that are actually supposed to have a long range. It takes a few more bullets to kill someone, but I usually don't have a problem. Well, I just regened, so I guess I better learn to love the shotgun. Ech.

In theory, running any cheating device in memory, used or not, or editing any game files could trigger VAC. In practice, it all seems rather random what gets detected and what doesn't. -
The Other Paradox Games (Europa Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron)

Rumor is that Rajas of India will be released on Tuesday, so I think I'll just play that -
Finally, after owning it for a few years, I beat Dragon Age: Origins. I had fun, and the ending was actually really satisfying, but man it was slow in the middle. I kind of want to play the end bit again to change some of my ending stuff, but it just takes so long... My end choices follow: Edit: So, I've heard bad things about DA2. Any opinions?

People have told me in the past that Denmark is an easy start. Maybe I was misinformed. -
The Other Paradox Games (Europa Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron)

My colony (which I can't get rid of even if I wanted to) got in a war which France and Lithuania refused to join. Thus I lost all my allies, then the HRE, Russia+Poland, and Norway all attacked me at once. The only saving grace to this arrangement was that none of them could get 100% war score since they all occupied different bits of my country. I had 60 troops defending, against Norway's 19, with roughly comparable generals, and them with a river crossing penalty, and I still lost. That's when I realized that the last 30 years of the game would just be me getting beaten up repeatedly, and that I'd played for 10 hours in the last two days and maybe had 2 hours of actual fun, and was finally able to pull the rip chord. -
I was running full sorcerer so I was basically so fragile that any attack from any of the bosses (and some of the regular enemies) would kill me in one hit. I found the Dragon's big area of attack really hard to get away from or dodge and my magic did fairly low damage to him, where I smoked the sanctuary guardian on the first shot and only had to play Artorias maybe ten times or so.

I did it! I managed to get enough will power to Alt-F4, delete local content. No more EU4 bitching from me. -
In a pinch, if someone rodeo's you, you can fire the cluster missile at the wall then turn your back to the explosions and kill the guy on your back. It hurts quite a bit, but it's better than being slowly chipped to death. The chain gun has been a pretty big favorite of mine as well, my only complaint is that it feels like it takes too many shots to take down a pilot or specter.

I haven't been building too many military buildings, just the cost reducing ones in my core provinces where I build guys a lot. I've found that the trade boosting buildings have been invaluable however, and I'm now dominating trade in Lubeck, Baltic Sea, and doing pretty good in the North Sea as well. Russia has the second biggest army in the game, second only to France, and they conquered a lot of the larger Native American nations so they have a decent new world presence as well. Theyr'e also three military tech levels ahead, so I'm certainly not going to be in any position to challenge them before the end of the game. I don't think I ever saw the Swedish military reforms event chain, so I'd guess my Military tradition is quite low. To be honest, I've been concentrating on Navy and the two tradition stats are kind of opague to me. -
The arc cannon can kill 5 grunts in one 1/2 charge shot. It's become my minion killer of choice. In other news, I'm half way to 49, so I'm probably going to regenerate this weekend. It'll be the first time I've ever done it in any of these games, so that's kinda cool.
